Abstract

ABSTRACT Children under five years means the grow than development of rapid and highly important and as a foundation that determines the quality of the success orgeneration of the nation. Ages 0-24 months is a period of rapid growth and development, and often termed as the golden period and at the same time ascritical period. Golden period can be realized if at this time infants and children receive appropriate nutrition for optimal growth and development. The objective of this study was to describe the pattern of growth of children under  five in families of smokers and non smokers in Berastagi district Karo regency. This  research was a descriptive cross sectional design. Data was collected by interviews and questionnaires to help 158 respondents with children under five in the region of sub-district health centers Berastagi in March - June 2014. The results showed that, based on health status (ARI) in  children  under five which suffered the most number of ARI were the family that 57%  of smokers and non-smokers in the family 43%. Growth of children under five based on weight forage, children under five malnutrition 84.2% of smokers in the family, good nutrition 54.3% innon-smokers and families over 100% under weight children in the family non smokers. Growth of infants based on height for age, very short 100%  on a family of smokers, 64.4% short was in the family of smokers and 58.9% of normal height in the family non smokers. Growth in weight for toddler height, very skinny 89% is in the family of smokers, 73% thin nerth ere on a family of smokers, 56% of normal non-smokers there are in the family and 64% obese non-smokers in the family. It is expected to provide input to the clinic to increase public knowledge through education about the dangers of cigarette smoke which give seffect to the growth of infants to increase the awareness of parents, families and communities. It is expected that all members of the family and the community, especially the head of the family to not smoke in the house, even there searcher is hoping that the head of the family can stop the habit of smoking for the health of them selves and their family members, especially baby under five. Abstract

Overnutrition is a unbalance condition between intake energy and output energy. Overnutrition known as overweight or obesity. According to the healthy research database (2013), prevalence of overnutriton in Indonesia increase from 2010 to 2013 that is 10 % become 13,5%. Result of research by Lestari in Medicine Faculty USU in 2012 showed 20,1% prevalence of overweight and obesity with the risk factor namely high supply of protein, fat an carbohydrate. This research is to know the risk factor caused overnutrution to student of public health faculty at USU. Conducted research using case control design. The aim of this research is to know relathionship among genetic, pattern of consumption, and physical activity with incidence of overnutrition. The sample for this study were 64 students of 2010-2012 years . 32 for case group and 32 for control group selected through purposive sampling technique. Univariate data namely age, sex, houselife, job of parents were analyzed descriptively and bivariate data namely genetic, pattern of consumption, and physical activity were analyzed using the chi square test with 95% CI. The data were collected by used food recall 24 hour form and physical activity form. The result of bivariate analysis showed relationship between genetic (p=0,005;OR=2,006), father’s nutrition status (p=0,019;OR=2,003), mother’s nutrition status (p = 0,001;OR=2,468),  protein supply (p = 0,009), fat supply (p = 0,042), carbohydrate supply (p = 0,010) and physical activity (p = 0,045;OR=7,154) with the incidence of overnutrition. And there is no relationship between frequency of eating with the incidence of overnutrition (p=0,157) It was recommended for the students doing physical activity routinely and consume healthfull food to decrease the incidence of overnutrition Keywords:       Risk Factor, overnutrition, public health

Abstract

One of the ways in treatment of  nutritional problems is by eating  through selection of setting the amount and type of carbohydrates that is appropriate to use the concept of the Glycemic Index (GI). GI is food levels according to their effect on blood glucose levels. Cocoyam (Xanthosoma sagittifolium) is a source of carbohydrate foods with a low glycemic index (GI = 50) and is often consumed by diabetics as a food substitute for rice. However, products of cocoyam such as cocoyam cookies have unknown glycemic index value. This study aimed to determined the glycemic index value of cocoyam cookies. This study was experimental study with 6 healthy subjects selected by purposive sampling method. Cocoyam used came from the district Hatonduhan. Measurement of glycemic index value performed by standard methods (Miller, 1996) with a food standard such as white bread. The portion of the test food and the standard food contained 50 g carbohydrate. The content of carbohydrates in cocoyam cookies was calculated by luff schroll method. GI was calculated by comparing the under kurve area of food test with food standard. Under kurve area of test food/ food standard was calculated by drawing horizontal and vertical lines thus forming wide awakes. Based on these calculations, the glycemic index value of cocoyam cocokies with white bread as a standard food is 79,9%. GI of cocoyam cookies included in high category (>70). It is recommended to further research to examine the glycemic index value of the other processed food that made from cocoyam (Xanthosoma sagittifolium). So it can add to list of foods that have an index glycemic value. Keywords : Glycemic index, cocoyam, cookies

Abstract

ABSTRACT A good conditional nutrition is a prerequisite to make quality human power. Children with nutrition problem when under old the growth and development of them would be problematic and increase morbidity, decrease productivity and mortality. One of efforts for increase public nutrition status with the way increase nutrition public service by program nutritional family awereness (KADARZI). The purpose of the research is to know the description of nutritional family awarness behavior in under five children  that undernutrition in Puskesmas Desa Lalang. This was a descriptive research by survey type. The population in this study was 43 under  five children undernutrition of 1-5 years old and all of them were used as the samples. The result of the research was not found of family’s are nutritional family awereness (KADARZI). Based of indicator KADARZI found that family do child weighing (68%), nothing of administering exclusive breast feeding, consumption of combine food (41,9%), used of iodine salt (9,3%), and administering vitamin A capsule (74,4%). The solution for this problem are increase sosialitation and promotion program KADARZI, there are the best mission the nutrition personnel (TPG) and cadre of posyandu (integrated service post), and must make an increased associated for family to KADARZI, especially family with under five children that undernutrition. Abstract

ABSTRACT Based on data the World Health Organization (WHO) explain that one of the 10 deaths in adults are caused by smoking. Indonesia is the 3rd highests number of smoker in the world.Adolescent victims of exploitation largest cigarette industry. Adolescence identical as a free human. Therefore teenagers always do all the desired activities. Many teenagers who like to do things like smoking prohibited. The research aims to determine the factors that influence smoking behavior of students. Type of research is descriptive analytic survey design Cross Sectional Study. Population in the research were 63 students and all of sample. Result of data analysis using chi-square and of the 8 existing variables obtained 6 related variables is sex ρ=0,0001 , knowledge ρ=0,009, age ρ=0,099, attitude ρ=0,008, advertising ρ=0,009 and peer group ρ=0,0001.Based on multivariate analysis of the variables that most influence is variable peer group on smoking behavior with logistic regression test value of Ex (B)=41,600, and of 63 students there are 25 who smoke, 24 sex male and 4 female. Expected to cooperate with the school to parent to provide information about the factors that influencesmoking behavior, especially peer group factor (enviroment) that play a role in influencing students behavior and for adolescents should be more careful in getting along in daily life so as not to be affected by adverse behavior. Abstract

Abstract To control the relatively high number of people the government is planning a national family planning program. IUD is a contraceptive option that is effective safe and comfortable for many women and high effectiveness in preventing pregnancy. In the village Sabungan contraceptive use is still low at only 0.08%. This research is dekskriptif by using factor analysis method eksplonatory application where the entire population of EFA mother who does not use contraceptives IUD in the Village River District Right Sabungan South Labuhanbatu district is 1290 EFA mother. While the sample used in this study are numbered 60 mothers EFA. From the research, there are 6 variables memngaruhi low use of contraceptive IUD (knowledge, attitudes, husband's support, the support of health, social, cultural, economic). After the due diligence factor in only 5 variables that can be analyzed further the knowledge, attitudes, husband support, support of health workers, the economy. And formed into 2 (two) external factors: the first factor yitu husband's support, the support of health professionals, and the second internal factor is the knowledge, attitudes, economics. It is therefore expected to provide FP correct and clear information about contraceptive IUD based on external and internal factors that can increase the IUD contraceptive users. Abstract

ABSRACT Teenagers is a potency in the continuing development of a nation. The existence of the various development efforts carried out, caused changes in the life of teenagers. This happens due to an imbalance in the development efforts made against teenagers, giving rise to problems for the construction it self. One of the effects of the imbalance in development is the occurrence of a fundamental change in the attitudes and sexual behaviour among teenagers. Many of the factors that led to a change in attitude and sexual behavior among teenagers, among others, the influence of access porn sites and peers. This research aimed to know the influence of access porn sites and peer group on teenagers sexual behavior in SMA Yayasan Perguruan Kesatria Medan. Type of this research is a descriptive analytic survey with cross sectional approach. The population of this research were all of students at SMA Yayasan Perguruan Kesatria Medan who have been dating, by using totally 107 students were being sample. This study uses multivariate analysis. The results of this research showed that teenagers sexual behavior in the severe category numbered 32 students (29.9%). Variables related to teenagers sexual behavior is an access porn sites (p = 0.042) and adaptation to the peer group (p = 0.034). The results of research using multiple logistic regression test shows that the most influential variables on teenagers sexual behavior is adaptation with peer group, with the regression coefficient β= 1.324. Based on research result suggested to the schools and parents to provide appropriate information and guidance to teenagers about sex education and reproductive health. To teenagers should be more wise in using the internet as a medium to increase knowledge in order to be more useful. Keywords: Free Porn Sites, Peer group, Teenagers Sexual Behavior

Abstract

ABSTRAK Abortus Iminens adalah terjadinya perdarahan bercak yang menunjukan ancaman terhadap kelangsungan suatu kehamilan. Dalam kondisi seperti ini kehamilan masih mungkin berlanjut atau dipertahankan, ditandai dengan perdarahan bercak hingga sedang, serviks tertutup (karena pada saat pemeriksaan dalam belum ada pembukaan), uterus sesuai usia gestasi, kram perut bawah, nyeri memilin karena kontraksi tidak ada atau sedikit sekali, tidak ditemukan kelainan pada serviks. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi adalah semua Ibu hamil dengan usia kehamilan trimester I sampai trimester II yang telah memeriksakan kehamilannya minimal dua kali di Klinik Bersalin Elvina Tanjung Sari Medan dan jumlah sampel sebagai responden sebanyak 65 orang. Hasil penelitian persepsi ibu hamil mengenai peran bidan dalam memberikan pendidikan kesehatan tentang abortus imminens menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden mempunyai persepsi dalam kategori kurang yaitu sebanyak 28 orang (43,1%), sedangkan persepsi ibu hamil mengenai peran bidan dalam memberikan pendidikan kesehatan secara umum menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden mempunyai persepsi kategori baik yaitu sebanyak 36 orang (55,4%). Disarankan kepada setiap ibu hamil agar memperhatikan kesehatannya dengan  melakukan pemeriksaan kehamilan setiap bulannya untuk mengenal sedini mungkin keluhan pada kehamilan atau untuk mendeteksi secara dini komplikasi dalam kehamilan dan diharapkan kepada petugas kesehatan di Klinik Bersalin Elvina Tanjung Sari Medan perlu meningkatkan pelayanan kesehatan terutama dalam memberikan pendidikan kesehatan tentang abortus imminens dan dalam kasus abortus imminens perlu kiranya dipantau lebih ketat sehingga tidak terjadi komplikasi lebih lanjut.   Kata Kunci : Persepsi, Pendidikan Kesehatan, Abortus Imminens

Abstract

In the pregnancy phase, a pregnant need food with content of different nutrients and a fulfill of nutrient that much bigger than before. One of problem that surface cause of undernutrition is energy chronic malnutrition which is recognized by size of upper arm circumference <23,5 cm that be found in Kabupaten Samosir Puskesmas Buhit work area. The purpose of this research is to find out diet of kind of food and food frequence, the number of energy and protein adequacy and the nutritional status of pregnant women in Puskesmas Buhit work area. This is a descriptive research with cross sectional design. Technic sampling in this research is simple random sampling. This research did on August 2014 located in Puskesmas Buhit work area, Kecamatan Pangururan with 74 of pregnant sample. This research takes the diet of kind of food and food frequence, the number of energy and protein adequacy and nutritional status data were analyzed by univariate to get the frequency distributions. The research shows that most of the nutritional status of pregnant women based on Upper Arm Circle did not have a high risk in Energy Chronic Malnutrition (>23,5 cm) is about 94,6%. Adequacy of energy in pregnant women shows 47,3% in medium category and adequacy of protein in pregnant women shows 45,9% in low category. It is required to pregnant women to pay attention her diet and give some information about nutrient, pregnancy and the influence of nutrient for pregnancy through health promotion that handle with health servant.   Keywords: diet, nutritional status, pregnant women

Abstract

Food safety is the things that make the food product is safe to eat , free from factors that can cause disease . The role of food safety is very important because food security is a prerequisite for a food , unsafe food can cause illness . The research was purposed determine to study food safety bread snacks bakery in Binjai City and North Binjai District. This is a descriptive study . Samples were taken was 60 of 20 snacks bread bakery. The research variabels were the completeness of the labeling, the characteristics of the bread and food additives. This research was an observasional method for labeling and completeness characteristics of bread and qualitative analysis of the use of food additives Test Kit . The results of observational studies labeling on bread snacks in the District of North Binjai and Binjai City that 65.0 % have included labels on packaging and general information listed on the label is the name and address of the production as well as the registration number . Observation of the characteristics of bread after 2 days showed 40.0 % experienced discoloration or moldy , 55.0 % have a hard texture , 40.0 % had a rancid aroma . Based on qualitative tests on food additives from 20 shows 16.7 % butter sandwich using dye methanyl Yellow , 37.5 % using the dye Rhodamine B , 45 % use the sweetener cyclamate and the entire snack bread using a preservative Potassium Bromate . Expected to Binjai City Health Department and the Agency for Drug and Food control , to be more active to provide counseling and guidance to manufacturers of food packaging products to meet the food labeling regulations and crack down on manufacturers who violate this regulation .
