Jurnal Ilmu Bimbingan dan Konseling (BIKOLING) adalah publikasi ilmiah yang berfokus pada pengembangan ilmu, praktik, dan inovasi di bidang bimbingan dan konseling. Jurnal ini menjadi wadah bagi akademisi, peneliti, dan praktisi untuk berbagi temuan penelitian, kajian teoretis, serta pendekatan baru yang relevan dalam mendukung perkembangan individu di berbagai konteks pendidikan, sosial, dan profesional. Abstract

Academic anxiety is a common psychological issue experienced by high school students, which can negatively affect their academic performance and mental well-being. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of individual counseling services based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in reducing students’ academic anxiety. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group. A total of 20 students were selected as participants and divided into an experimental group and a control group. The primary instrument used was an academic anxiety scale that had been tested for validity and reliability. The experimental group received individual CBT-based counseling over six sessions. Results from the paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test showed a significant reduction in academic anxiety in the experimental group compared to the control group. These findings indicate that individual counseling using the CBT approach is effective in addressing academic anxiety among high school students. The study recommends the implementation of CBT as an evidence-based counseling approach in school settings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of self-efficacy on career planning among final year students. Self-efficacy, defined as an individual's belief in their own abilities, plays a crucial role in determining readiness and strategies for career planning. The research employed a quantitative correlational design involving 120 final year students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with simple linear regression. The results indicate a positive and significant influence of self-efficacy on career planning, with self-efficacy explaining 42% of the variance in students’ career planning. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening self-efficacy through psychological interventions and career guidance programs to support students’ preparedness for the workforce. The implications of this study are expected to guide the development of career services in higher education institutions.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted adolescents' mental health, particularly in psychosocial aspects. Online counseling has emerged as an effective and accessible alternative to help adolescents cope with anxiety, stress, and loneliness in the post-pandemic period. This study employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey targeting adolescents who have experienced online counseling services. The results indicate that online counseling plays an important role in reducing psychosocial symptoms among adolescents, despite technical and psychological challenges encountered during implementation. Counselor training and technological infrastructure support are key factors for the success of this service. This study recommends the development of online counseling to be more responsive and sustainable in meeting adolescent mental health needs in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between time management and academic procrastination among students majoring in Guidance and Counseling. Using a quantitative correlational approach, data were collected from 100 students through standardized questionnaires. The results revealed a significant negative correlation between time management skills and academic procrastination levels. Students with better time management were less likely to delay academic tasks, while those with poor time organization showed a higher tendency to procrastinate. The findings highlight the importance of strengthening students' time management abilities as a strategy to reduce procrastination behaviors in academic settings. This study also suggests the need for universities to integrate time management training into their student development programs, especially for prospective counselors.

Abstract

This study discusses the application of experiential learning-based group guidance through games as a strategy to create fun and meaningful Guidance and Counseling (BK) services. Through a literature study of 20 relevant articles, it was found that traditional and educational games are able to build character, increase empathy, reduce aggressive behavior, and encourage students' self-acceptance. This approach is in line with Ki Hajar Dewantara's philosophy which emphasizes active, reflective, and contextual learning. The results of the study show that games are effectively used as a participatory and student-centered BK service medium.

Abstract

Based on the reality in the field, some students have difficulty making career plans that are in line with their stage of professional growth. This is the background of this research. Psychoeducation is the practice of providing psychological knowledge or education to individuals or groups to increase their self-efficacy in career planning. Adolescent career planning involves selecting the type of additional education they are interested in because it is considered a component of their career development. Furthermore, many vocational high school graduates still have difficulty choosing jobs and developing in their fields of specialization. Because their skills do not match the needs of business, industry, or entrepreneurship, vocational high school graduates continue to face challenges in finding meaningful work and starting their own businesses. And what are the implications for the philosophy of education? This study uses a quantitative descriptive research design. The tools used are a survey of self-efficacy and career planning for vocational high school students. Based on the research findings, the students' overall self-efficacy profile is in the high category, while their career planning profile is in the competent group. In addition, self-efficacy has an important role in students' career planning. Guidance and counseling teachers are advised to develop a unique self-efficacy psychoeducational program to enhance students' career planning skills by considering the elements included in this program that are in line with the educational philosophy.

Abstract

As technology advances, AI is emerging to assist in various aspects of human life. One area where AI is utilized is education, specifically guidance and counseling. AI is used to identify student needs, and counseling chatbots can assist in the implementation of established programs. The use of AI significantly enhances the performance of guidance and counseling teachers. Philosophy helps explain its epistemology, ontology, and axiology.

Abstract

The life that a prisoner lives while in prison causes prisoners to face various psychological problems, including loss of family, loss of selfcontrol, and loss of support. The aim of this research: First, to describe the psychological well-being of female prisoners at Prison II A Jember. Second, to describe the impact of psychological well-being on the activities of female prisoners at Prison II A Jember. This research is qualitative research with a field study approach. The technique for determining research subjects uses purposive techniques, while the data collection technique uses observation, interviews and documentation. The data validity test used is source triangulation and technical triangulation. The conclusions from this research are as follows: The description of the psychological well-being of female prisoners at Prison II A Jember shows that there are still obstacles that hinder the fulfillment of optimal psychological well-being. Factorssupporting the psychological well-being of female prisoners are social support, positive interactions and spirituality. Meanwhile, factors inhibiting psychological well-being are personality, cultural differences,, and infrastructure.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling (GC) Model in career planning services for vocational high school (SMK) students. The research background is based on the challenges of transitioning from school to the workforce, which requires students’ career readiness, including the development of competencies, career knowledge, and adaptability to industrial dynamics. This study employs a mixed-method approach, collecting data through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and document analysis. Participants include SMK students, guidance counselors, and related stakeholders. Data analysis is conducted using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods to provide a holistic view of the effectiveness of comprehensive GC services. The findings indicate that GC services integrating assessment, individual counseling, group guidance, and career information enhance students’ career readiness. Assessment of students’ interests, talents, and competencies serves as the foundation for personalized and relevant career planning. Continuous evaluation and monitoring provide feedback for service improvement, enabling students to develop career adaptability, self-efficacy, and positive attitudes in career decision-making. This study highlights that comprehensive GC is an effective strategy to prepare students for workforce challenges.
