Abstract

This study analyzes the strategic management of educators’ and staff work ethic development at Al-Muhajir Foundation, Randuagung Lumajang. The institution’s quality is strongly influenced by human resources, particularly leadership in designing and executing strategies. The research focuses on three aspects: (1) strategic planning, (2) implementation, and (3) evaluation. Using a qualitative case study, data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed with Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, ensuring validity with source and technique triangulation. Findings show that strategic planning involves SWOT analysis, vision–mission formulation, and goal setting. Implementation is carried out through training, self-development, internships, and comparative studies, while evaluation includes weekly and monthly meetings, religious studies, and annual assessments (munaqosah). These strategies collectively foster work ethic, professionalism, and organizational commitment, contributing to the foundation’s educational quality improvement. Penelitian ini mengkaji manajemen strategis pengembangan etos kerja pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan di Yayasan Al-Muhajir Randuagung Lumajang. Mutu pendidikan sangat bergantung pada kualitas sumber daya manusia, khususnya kepemimpinan dalam merumuskan dan melaksanakan strategi. Fokus penelitian meliputi: (1) perencanaan, (2) implementasi, dan (3) evaluasi strategi. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus digunakan, dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman, dengan keabsahan data dijamin melalui triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan mencakup analisis SWOT, visi–misi, dan penetapan tujuan; implementasi dilakukan melalui pelatihan, pengembangan diri, magang, dan studi banding; sedangkan evaluasi melalui rapat, kajian keagamaan, dan munaqosah tahunan. Secara keseluruhan, strategi ini memperkuat etos kerja, profesionalisme, dan komitmen organisasi, sehingga mendukung peningkatan mutu pendidikan yayasan.

Abstract

Ma'had Aly Darussalam Blokagung is one of the Ma'had Alys who is quite successful in managing the yellow book-based curriculum, this is proven by the many graduates who have become religious figures in society and have achieved many achievements. The Ma'had Aly Darussalam curriculum focuses on preserving Islamic boarding school traditions and innovating educational methodologies to produce quality scholars. The focus of this research is 1) How is the yellow book-based curriculum planned at Ma'had Aly Islamic Boarding School Darussalam, 2) How is the yellow book-based curriculum implemented at Ma'had Aly Darussalam Islamic Boarding School, 3) How is the yellow book-based curriculum evaluated in Ma'had Aly Darussalam Islamic Boarding School. The objectives to be achieved by the researcher are 1) Describe the planning of the yellow book-based curriculum at Ma'had Aly Pondok Pesantren Darussalam, 2) Describe the implementation of the yellow book-based curriculum at Ma'had Aly Pondok Pesantren Darussalam, 3) Describe the evaluation of the yellow book-based curriculum in Ma'had Aly Darussalam Islamic Boarding School. The approach in this research is descriptive qualitative, the data collection techniques used are in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. The collected data is then analyzed using analytical techniques which include data collection, data condensation, data presentation, conclusion verification, then the validity of the data is tested using data source triangulation techniques, method triangulation, theory triangulation, discussions with colleagues and holding member checks. The conclusions of this research are 1). Yellow book-based curriculum planning at Ma'had Aly Darussalam includes planning the vision, mission and goals, curriculum content, teaching materials or learning resources, learning methods and models, and evaluation. 2). The implementation of the curriculum at Ma'had Aly Darussalam includes the implementation of learning content, learning methods and models. 3). Curriculum evaluation at Ma'had Aly Darusslam consists of monthly and annual evaluations which include several points; learning evaluation, mahasantri evaluation, evaluation of the selection of new mahasantri, evaluation of improving the quality of Sufism and tarekat learning models, and evaluation of services and human resources.

Abstract

Educational messages are statements contained and sourced from the Qur'an and as-Sunnah or other sources which are interpretations of these two sources in the form of Islamic teachings. In the context of this study, the educational messages referred to are statements contained in the novel "Kasidah Lereng Bukit" by Achmad Munif, which contains Islamic teachings originating from the Qur'an and as-Sunnah, with the theme of faith, Islamic law and good morals. aims amar ma'ruf nahi munkar. One of the limitations of literature is everything that is written. Its relationship with education can be used as a medium of da'wah in writing. Literature aside from being a tool for spreading ideology, literature is also considered capable of providing life experiences and noble human values for its readers. The existence of a novel cannot be separated from the author's background regarding education, knowledge, personal experience, religion and others so that the literary work he produces has its own characteris- tics. Achmad Munif was able to greet readers intimately through his writings, in his work the writer was able to play with emotions, attracting readers through the characters in the story. This study focuses on what is the message of Islamic education contained in the novel "Kasidah Lereng Bukit" by Achmad Munif. How is the educational message conveyed through the integration of the intrinsic elements of the fictional story of the novel "Kasidah Lereng Bukit" by Achmad Munif. The research method used is the study of literature analysis, according to Hawkes in the analysis of literary works the elements of its formation are de- scribed. Thus, the overall meaning will be understood. This is because a literary work is a complete work. Thus, this study will give birth to the first. The forms of Islamic education messages contained in the novel "Kasidah Lereng Bukit" by Achmad Munif are often insepa- rable from three aspects, namely: Aqidah aspects by prohibiting belief in shamans, Shari'ah aspects by practicing obligatory worship, and the moral aspect, namely endeavor (effort) and prayer are two ways that cannot be separated to get what one wants, stay away from bad prej- udice, be grateful for the favors that have been bestowed, repent and regret the sins that have been committed. Second, judging from the intrinsic elements of the novel "Kasidah Lereng Bukit" most of the plot is straight, the characters are all Muslims. In terms o f tension, it is a primidal plot, namely the climax is not at the beginning and at the end but in the middle, while in terms of the storytelling sequence using a progressive plot, the story opens from the beginning of the story and closes at the end of the story.

Abstract

This article discusses the use of the Fresh-Reading method for the development of a culture of liberation in fostering students' interest in reading at SD Negeri 150 palembang. The Fresh-Reading method is a learning approach that emphasizes students' active involvement in reading in a fun and relevant way to their lives. The purpose of this study was to see the impact of implementing the Fresh-Reading method in creating a positive reading culture and increasing students' interest in reading. The results of implementing this method show an increase in students' enthusiasm in reading as well as success in introducing literacy concepts that focus on freedom of thought and exploration of ideas. In addition, the implementation of this method also helps students to better appreciate reading materials and build better literacy skills. Despite challenges in the initial transition, this approach has proven effective in encouraging students to be more active in reading activities. Overall, the Fresh-Reading method at SD Negeri 150 palembang contributes significantly to developing a culture of liberation and increasing students' interest in reading.

Abstract

Reading and writing literacy is a crucial skill in pesantren-based madrasahs, but it faces challenges such as limited reading materials, conventional methods, and minimal technology use. This qualitative case study was conducted at MA Nurul Huda Mangunsari. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, literacy activity observations, and policy document analysis. The school integrates kitab kuning literacy with general reading, implements mandatory book reviews, and utilizes student blogs for digital literacy. Key enablers include pesantren culture, leadership support, and community involvement, while limited resources and teacher training are major obstacles. These literacy innovations effectively enhance students’ critical reading, writing skills, and reading interest. The model is replicable for similar institutions. Future studies should explore the impact of digital literacy on students’ critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

This article explores and develops an ecopedagogical learning model grounded in Islamic environmental fiqh within the context of urban Islamic schools. The findings reveal that integrating core Islamic ecological principles such as khalifah (human stewardship), maslahah (public benefit), hima (environmental protection zones), and the prohibition of ifsad (destruction) enriches contemporary ecopedagogical values with strong spiritual and normative foundations. The model is contextualized to address the unique challenges of urban Islamic schools, including limited green spaces, air pollution, and consumerist culture. Implementation shows that urban contexts can become critical ecological learning spaces through green practices such as energy conservation, waste management, and school-based environmental advocacy. Moreover, this model holds promise as an alternative curriculum framework for Islamic schools aiming to implement systematic environmental education. By integrating thematic, interdisciplinary, and action-oriented approaches, the model emphasizes the development of students’ ecological character rooted in Islamic values and real-life engagement beyond mere cognitive understanding.

Abstract

The learning interest of fourth-grade students at SDN 2 Linggamukti in Islamic Religious Education (PAI & BP), particularly on the topic of the Prophet Muhammad’s migration, was found to be low. This was evident from poor attendance, limited classroom engagement, and unsatisfactory assignment outcomes. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model over two cycles. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and interviews, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. Teacher activity increased from 60% to 90%, and student activity from 63% to 93%. The classical mastery level of student learning interest improved from 40% (pre-action) to 67% (cycle I) and 93% (cycle II). The implementation of Wordwall-based interactive learning media effectively improved student learning interest and demonstrated an innovative approach to digital learning management in Islamic elementary education.

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct the management of education and training (diklat) for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) teachers in Islamic educational institutions by designing innovative strategies that enhance sustainable professionalism in the Society 5.0 era. The study is motivated by the limited readiness of ICT teachers to master digital pedagogy and smart technology due to inadequate training systems. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method at SMK King Abdul Aziz, data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with principals, ICT teachers, and students, as well as documentation analysis. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model. The findings reveal that current training programs remain top-down, lack contextual relevance, are not aligned with teachers' needs, and insufficiently integrate smart technologies or professional learning communities. This study contributes theoretically to the development of innovation-based training management models and offers practical guidance for Islamic schools and policymakers to build more responsive and transformative professional development systems.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness of educator workshops in improving teacher quality at MA Al-Amiriyah, while identifying key success factors and challenges. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. Findings reveal a significant improvement in teachers’ pedagogical and professional competencies after the workshops, particularly in student-centered learning and constructive feedback. A total of 46.7% and 60% of teachers reported improvements in these areas. Teacher development also positively impacted student achievement, with average score increases ranging from 7.4% to 8.3% across subjects. This study provides empirical evidence that workshops are an effective strategy for teacher professional development in madrasas. It also offers practical recommendations for school management and training providers to design more targeted and sustainable programs. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas workshop tenaga pendidik dalam meningkatkan mutu guru di MA Al-Amiriyah, serta mengidentifikasi faktor keberhasilan dan tantangannya. Menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam kompetensi pedagogik dan profesional guru pasca-workshop, terlihat dari penerapan pembelajaran berpusat pada siswa dan pemberian umpan balik konstruktif. Sebanyak 46,7% dan 60% guru melaporkan peningkatan pada aspek tersebut. Peningkatan kualitas guru ini turut berdampak pada hasil belajar siswa, dengan kenaikan nilai rata-rata sebesar 7,4% hingga 8,3% di berbagai mata pelajaran. Temuan ini memberikan bukti empiris bahwa workshop merupakan strategi efektif dalam pengembangan profesional guru di madrasah. Studi ini juga menyajikan rekomendasi praktis bagi pengelola madrasah dan penyelenggara pelatihan untuk menyusun program yang lebih terarah dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Pesantren as an Islamic educational institution has a strategic role in shaping the character and competence of students in the era of globalization. In the midst of increasingly tight global competition, management of pesantren education is an important factor in improving the quality of human resources produced. This study aims to examine the urgency of implementing effective education management in pesantren in order to improve the quality of students, both in terms of academic, religious, and social skills. The research method used is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach, through interviews, observations, and documentation in several selected pesantren. The findings show that structured and adaptive education management can increase students' learning motivation, develop relevant curricula, and strengthen character training in facing global challenges. The contribution of this study confirms that good management of pesantren is very important to produce quality, independent students who are ready to face global challenges. Pesantren sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam memiliki peran strategis dalam membentuk karakter dan kompetensi santri di era globalisasi. Di tengah persaingan global yang semakin ketat, manajemen pendidikan pesantren menjadi faktor krusial untuk meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji urgensi penerapan manajemen pendidikan yang efektif di pesantren guna meningkatkan kualitas santri, baik dari aspek akademik, keagamaan, maupun keterampilan sosial. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi pada beberapa pesantren terpilih. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa manajemen pendidikan yang terstruktur dan adaptif mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar santri, pengembangan kurikulum yang relevan, serta penguatan pembinaan karakter dalam menghadapi tantangan global. Kontribusi dari penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa pengelolaan pesantren yang baik sangat penting untuk menghasilkan santri yang berkualitas, mandiri, dan siap menghadapi tantangan global.
