Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the representation of the emotions of the main character in the novel Dia Angkasa by Nurwina Sari and its adaptation in the form of a web series, using a psychoanalytic approach according to Sigmund Freud. This research focuses on the question of how the emotions of the character Angkasa Naufal Merapi are represented in both media, and identifies the psychological conflicts that are the basis for character formation through the structure of id, ego, and superego. The qualitative descriptive method was used in this study with content analysis techniques, data sources from the text of the novel Dia Angkasa and its broadcast. Data collection techniques are carried out through intensive reading, recording, and coding of the categories of emotions produced in the form of anger, fear, love, and hope. Furthermore, the data was analyzed using psychoanalytic theory to understand the psychological dynamics of the characters. The results show that the emotions of the main characters in the novel are shown in depth through narrative and internal dialogue, while in the web series emotions are expressed more through visual and audio elements. There are differences in the depth of representation, but they complement each other in forming a complete understanding of the character. Psychoanalytic analysis shows that there is a conflict between instinctive impulses (id), consideration of reality (ego), and moral values (superego) in the main character, which shapes the emotional journey and maturity of the character.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Sekolah Plus Ngaji (School Plus Quran Recitation) Program at SDN 9 Tambakasri and its impact on improving students’ Quran reading abilities. The main issue behind this research is the low proficiency of elementary school students in reading the Quran, caused by limited religious education time, lack of parental support at home, and ineffective teaching methods. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and Quran reading tests. The results indicate that the program is conducted regularly three times a week using habit-building strategies, group mentoring, and periodic evaluations. A significant improvement was observed in students' Quran reading skills after participating in the program, as shown by a decrease in the number of students at the basic reading level and an increase in those with fluent reading ability. Additionally, there was a positive shift in students' attitudes toward religious learning, including greater confidence and improved understanding of Quranic recitation rules. The success of the program was also supported by active parental involvement and strong collaboration between teachers, schools, and families. However, challenges such as limited instructional time and a lack of supportive learning resources remain. In conclusion, the Sekolah Plus Ngaji Program is effective in enhancing students’ Quran reading skills and religious character formation when supported by proper implementation strategies and stakeholder cooperation.

From the results of the analysis, it is known that there is an influence of peer interaction on the level of juvenile delinquency in Hutabarangan Village. The form of peer interaction in Hutabarangan Village is classified as very high with a percentage of 54.3%, while the level of juvenile delinquency in Hutabarangan Village is classified as high with a percentage of 57.1%. The calculation results show that the t_count value = 6.440 and t_table = 1.692 at a significance level of 0.005 (5%). Because t_count > t_table, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This indicates that there is an influence of peer interaction on the level of juvenile delinquency. The coefficient of determination obtained is 55.7%. This means that the magnitude of the influence of peer interaction on the level of juvenile delinquency is 55.7% while the remaining 44.3% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of organizational involvement on students’ learning behavior at Universitas Negeri Medan. The research is motivated by the observation that student participation in campus organizations may have both positive and negative impacts on academic learning. A quantitative method with an ex post facto approach was employed. A total of 163 students were randomly selected from the population of active members across 12 Student Activity Units (UKM). Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire with a Likert scale. The results showed that students' level of organizational activity was generally high, with the majority classified under the "high" category. Meanwhile, the learning behavior of students actively involved in organizations was categorized as "fairly good", with an average score of 79. Based on regression analysis, a negative and significant effect of 15.8% was found between organizational involvement and learning behavior. This means that the more active students are in organizational activities, the more likely their learning behavior declines. These findings highlight the importance of time management and academic awareness to help students balance organizational commitments with their learning responsibilities.

Abstract

This study investigates how children’s personal aspirations are often overshadowed or replaced by their parents’ expectations, resulting in life paths that reflect family ambitions rather than individual desires. Focusing on university students, it explores the psychological tension and identity conflict caused by internalizing parental hopes as life goals. Using a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews and thematic analysis, the study captures diverse socio-economic experiences. Three main themes emerge: (1) emotional obligation to fulfill parental dreams, (2) identity confusion stemming from restricted personal agency, and (3) delayed self-actualization. While some students feel motivated by parental trust, others experience anxiety, emotional exhaustion, and suppressed personal aspirations. These findings form the conceptual framework of “borrowed dreams,” illustrating how intergenerational expectations shape identity and motivation. The study emphasizes the importance of improved family communication and culturally sensitive strategies to balance parental influence with youth autonomy. Recognizing young people’s right to define their own futures is vital for healthy identity development and well-being.

Abstract

This article explores the concept of justifying grounds (alasan pembenar) in the context of victims who commit criminal acts, analyzed through the lens of criminal liability theory. Under Indonesian criminal law, criminal liability requires the existence of an unlawful act; however, certain conditions may negate the unlawful nature of such acts, one of which includes justifying grounds. The focus of this article is to examine situations in which victims engage in criminal behavior as a response to threats or assaults they have experienced, such as in cases of self defense or coercion. The research employs a normative legal approach by analyzing statutory regulations and legal doctrines. The findings indicate that the application of justifying grounds can exempt victims from criminal liability if their actions meet specific criteria outlined in the Indonesian Penal Code (KUHP), particularly Articles 48 and 49. The article underscores the importance of a contextual approach in the application of criminal law and highlights the need for caution among law enforcement authorities when evaluating cases in which victims become perpetrators, in order to uphold justice and ensure balanced legal protection.

Abstract

Poverty is a complex social issue, particularly in underdeveloped areas like Karangpatihan Village, which is known as the "Kampung Idiot" due to the high number of residents with intellectual disabilities. This study aims to explore the role of social support in poverty alleviation in the village. A qualitative research method with a case study approach was used, involving interviews with the village head, the head of the community empowerment group, and the residents. The findings show that the community of Karangpatihan receives various forms of social support, such as emotional, instrumental, informational, and friendship support, which encourage their participation in productive economic activities. The role of local institutions, particularly the village government and Rumah Harapan Karangpatihan, has proven significant in creating a social environment that supports empowerment. This study reveals that the transformation of habitus from dependency to independence can be achieved through sustained social support, which has important implications for more effective and inclusive poverty alleviation.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview of children's learning behavior, the factors influencing it, and how the subjects interact with tutors and peers in the teaching and learning process within the non-formal learning community Sahabat Pelangi in Manado. The research specifically compares children who are still attending school with those who have dropped out. A qualitative approach was employed using a phenomenological method. The researcher served as the main instrument to explore the children's subjective learning experiences. The research subjects consisted of two 11 y ear old children with different educational backgrounds. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's model, which involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Observations were conducted in social situations within the non-formal learning environment. The results show that children's learning behavior is influenced by motivation, environmental support, and the educational structures available to them. Children who are still in school tend to demonstrate more independent, structured, and active learning behaviors, supported by the roles of family and school. In contrast, children who have dropped out of school show a high but unstable interest in learning and rely heavily on the community as an alternative learning space. This study highlights the importance of learning communities as a form of inclusive education, particularly for children living in vulnerable social and economic conditions

Abstract

This article examines the role and responsibility of notaries in resolving civil disputes in Indonesia through notarial deeds. Notaries play a crucial role as officials authorized to create authentic deeds that provide legal certainty and serve as strong evidence in civil legal processes. This study employs a literature review method by analyzing various legal sources, journals, and regulations related to notarial practice and dispute resolution. The findings reveal that notarial deeds function not only as the basis for agreements but also as primary instruments in effectively resolving legal conflicts. However, notaries face several challenges, including limited public understanding, external pressures, and rapid technological developments. Therefore, strengthening regulations, enhancing notary competence, utilizing technology, and public education are essential to improve the role of notaries in ensuring legal certainty and dispute resolution. This study offers strategic recommendations to reinforce the notary's function as a cornerstone of Indonesia’s civil legal system.

Abstract

Cinderella Complex is a psychological pattern characterized by emotional dependency of women on men, accompanied by a fear of independence, low self-esteem, a need for external direction, and a tendency to avoid challenges. This condition often develops in individuals who experience the emotional loss of a father figure (fatherless), particularly during adolescence. This study aims to describe the tendency of the Cinderella Complex in early adult women who have experienced fatherlessness and are currently in romantic relationships. The research method employed is qualitative with a case study approach. The subject in this study is a 20-year-old woman from Talawaan, North Minahasa, who meets the criteria of early adulthood, has experienced fatherlessness, and displays characteristics of the Cinderella Complex. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and was validated using source triangulation techniques. The findings indicate that the subject exhibits a strong tendency toward the Cinderella Complex and a high level of dependency in her romantic relationship. The subject demonstrated all aspects of the Cinderella Complex, including dependency on her partner, low self-esteem, external locus of control, and avoidance of decision-making and independence. The study found that the emotional affection resulting from the Cinderella Complex and fatherlessness is unhealthy, manifesting in self-sacrifice, a constant search for validation, and rejection of independence behaviors rooted in emotional wounds caused by the absence of a father figure. These findings are supported by Dowling’s theory of the Cinderella Complex, Bowlby and Ainsworth’s attachment theory, and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. This study contributes to the field by providing implications for psychological interventions and family counseling.
