Abstract

This study aims to analyze students’ perceptions of earthquake disaster mitigation at SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa Timur, focusing on aspects such as understanding, attitude, preparedness, participation, and evaluation of the school’s mitigation program. A descriptive quantitative method was employed, with data collected through questionnaires completed by students. The results indicate that students' understanding of earthquake mitigation falls into the "very good" category, with an average score of 4.12. Students’ attitudes toward the importance of disaster mitigation and their participation in mitigation activities scored 3.60 and 3.61, respectively, while their evaluation of the school’s mitigation program scored 3.64—all classified as "good." However, students’ preparedness for disaster remains in the "moderate" category, with a score of 3.00. These findings suggest that while the mitigation program is generally effective, further improvement is necessary—particularly in enhancing students’ preparedness—through the development of more interactive and collaborative mitigation initiatives.

Abstract

This study presents a thematic literature review examining the role of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in developing supporting facilities for tourism destinations, with a specific focus on the Gorontalo region. Analysis of ten selected articles reveals that GIS is effective in identifying facility gaps, classifying tourism sites based on development needs, and designing spatially targeted strategies. GIS offers advantages such as real-time data availability, support for participatory planning, and continuous evaluation, facilitating more accurate, evidence-based policymaking. Additionally, GIS enables integration across sectors such as transportation, local economy, and environmental preservation, enhancing the effectiveness of regional planning. Despite challenges like the need for technical training, limited data availability, and uneven infrastructure access, GIS remains a valuable tool for supporting digital transformation in tourism governance. This study recommends the expansion of GIS as a key instrument for inclusive, efficient, and sustainable tourism planning and destination promotion in Gorontalo

Based on the assessment of object and attractions, the marine park tourism area has a percentage value of 85.9%. The marine park tourism attractions criteria have a percentage value of 90%. While the accessibility criteria have the lowest percentage value of 77.8%. supporting facilities and infrastructure have a feasibility level of 90%, so they are categorized as worth developing. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that marine park tourism is worth developing as one of the tourist destinations

Abstract

This community service activity was held at Peunaga Pasi Beach, West Aceh Regency, which has great potential as a leading tourist destination, but faces pollution problems due to people's habit of littering. This community service aims to foster active community participation in maintaining the cleanliness of the beach environment through a participatory education approach and technical waste management training. Activities were carried out through initial surveys, socialization, composting training, and the formation of the Peunaga Pasi Bersih Forum community. The evaluation process was carried out through direct observation during the activity to see the real involvement and behavioral changes of residents. The results showed an increase in community understanding by 65% and a reduction in illegal waste by 35%. This activity shows that a community-based approach can build a clean culture that not only beautifies the coastal area, but also strengthens the community's social involvement in protecting the environment in a sustainable manner.
