Abstract

In the current context, higher education faces the challenge of preparing future professionals to respond to society’s increasingly complex problems. However, the search for solutions means adopting new ways of working that promote multidimensionality through collaboration and an interdisciplinary outlook. Despite the advances made in interdisciplinary research, innovation development, and interdisciplinary teamwork, however, the implementation of this approach in higher education is still very slow, and further efforts are required. This article considers the opportunities for an interdisciplinary approach to student learning in university settings. In Nigeria, it is common knowledge that the educational system in it is not what it ought to be. This is evidenced by the fact that, above all, a good number of graduates from this system are unemployable, leading to so many ills in society. It is not unconnected with this fact that national policy on education was formulated to correct the anomaly. A juxtaposition of the policy with the state of higher education in Nigeria shows that the policy is far from actualizing its ends. The paper, therefore, suggested that core subjects should be integrated into the curriculum across levels that involve interdisciplinary learning in Nigerian universities.

Abstract

This study examined the perception and attitude of undergraduates toward online learning platforms (OLPs) in the post-COVID-19 era in Kwara State, Nigeria. The COVID-19 pandemic forced educational institutions to adopt virtual learning environments, making it essential to understand students' experiences because these insights are critical for improving education delivery in the new normal. A descriptive survey design was employed, and data were collected from 383 undergraduates across federal, state, and private universities selected through random sampling. A structured questionnaire measured three variables: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and overall attitude toward OLPs. The findings revealed that students generally held positive perceptions and attitudes, although variations were observed based on gender and institution type because of differences in access, digital literacy, and learning environments. This study underscores the importance of inclusive digital strategies and infrastructure to support equitable and effective learning experiences across Nigeria’s higher education system.

Abstract

This study investigates the potential of integrating Islamic ethical values into heuristic problem-based learning to foster Advanced Mathematical Thinking (AMT) skills among Islamic elementary students. Using an explanatory sequential mixed-methods design, the research involved 120 fifth-grade students from Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in a metropolitan city in Indonesia. The intervention employed the Heuristic Problem-Based Learning integrated with the Triplet Structure Model (HPbLTSM), emphasizing deep learning through inquiry, abstraction, representation, creativity, and proof. Results show that students with strong mathematical dispositions significantly improved their AMT skills, while even those with weaker dispositions benefited when ethical and collaborative frameworks were embedded. The study demonstrates that AMT is not exclusive to mathematically gifted students and that integrating Islamic values (such as ta’adub, musāwah, and taṭawwur wa ibtikār) enhances cognitive, ethical, and social growth. The findings align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the significant relationship between Cosmetic Products on Self-Concept from an educational perspective. We used subjects from Sultan Kudarat State University - Laboratory Highschool Students. We used an adapted and modified questionnaire as the primary tool to gather data for this study. The Likert scale was used to determine the level of self-concept of the respondents when using cosmetics products and to what extent they use cosmetics products in different situations. The findings show that the respondents sometimes use cosmetic products in different situations, and the data revealed that the respondents have a high level of self-concept when applying cosmetics products. According to the respondents’ responses, cosmetics products and students’ level of self-concept has a high relationship. Recommendations have been made to conduct and that future researchers enhance the study by focusing on the large number of people who have a deeper understanding of the issue. We also recommend that the community should learn more about the self-concept of one person and they should give an understanding if even the young generation is more likely to use cosmetics to enhance their appearance.

Abstract

This paper has addressed the problem of harmful traditional practices in Tanzania and how such practices clash with the United Nations (UN) Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). This qualitative research has described the most persistent harmful traditional practices in Tanzania and suggested solutions to overcome the clash between UDHR and these practices. Findings reveal that child killings, son preference, and violence related to witchcraft accusations are the most persistent harmful traditional practices in Tanzania. To eliminate the harmful traditional practices problem in Tanzania, there is a need to enhance traditional justice systems within the framework of peace-building practice. For policy implication, there is a need to enhance effective policies that will act as problem-solving. Further, from time to time amendment of such established policies will help tackle emerging challenges on the problem. Lastly, a bottom-up approach should be adopted by engaging the locals in the whole process of formulating policies.

Abstract

The present study aimed to evaluate the robotics class at Ianthe Christian Academy. This present study used descriptive research using a survey. Respondents in the study were parents and learners at Ianthe Christian Academy as they participated in outdoor classes. These are Grade 3 to 6 learners. Samples were chosen from the population using simple random sampling. Parent-respondents were identified using Part I: Profile of the respondents which includes age, sex, and economic status. Part II: Teaching and Part III: Learning describe the teaching and learning on outdoor activities at Ianthe Christian School. The scale described how outdoor activities happened in the school. Findings revealed that parents strongly agreed on Teaching and Learning Robotics Classes, learners performed outstandingly in various subject areas, and there is no relationship between both teaching and learning in the academic performance of learners. Parents were satisfied with the robotics class in school, learners showed enthusiasm and commitment to their subjects taken, and they did not directly affect learners' performance in robotics class. Parents should be engaged in the learning experience of the learners in the robotics class, providing additional worksheets that enhance the skills of learners, and encouraging parents to communicate with teachers.
