Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the influence of self-efficacy on affective learning outcomes in social studies education. The research employed a quantitative approach using a simple linear regression method with a sample of secondary school students. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires validated for reliability and relevance. The findings revealed a significant positive relationship between self-efficacy and affective learning outcomes, especially in social behaviors such as honesty, responsibility, and cooperation. This relationship exists because self-efficacy supports students’ confidence and motivation, which in turn strengthens their social engagement and empathy during learning. The study highlights the importance of developing students’ internal psychological resources as part of educational efforts aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those concerning quality education and social inclusion. The results suggest that enhancing self-efficacy can contribute to more holistic student development, integrating both academic success and character education for global citizenship.

The Education Era 4.0 has demanded students' to improve their literacy skills, especially elementary school Students'. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the use of the Youtube application as a learning medium to improve children's literacy skills. Unfortunately, until now there has been no research that discusses the Effectiveness of Using Youtube Applications as Learning Media to Increase the Reading and Writing Interests of Elementary School Students'. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach which is carried out through field research and interviews. In addition, we also conducted a literature study related to previous relevant research studies. Based on the results of the study, there was an increase in student learning outcomes by using Youtube as a learning medium. This shows that the presentation of creative learning materials can stimulate Students' interest and motivation which will have an impact on increasing Students' literacy skills. It can be concluded that the Youtube application has proven to be effective in presenting interesting learning videos so that it can increase the interest and literacy skills of elementary school Students'. This literacy and literacy ability will later be very useful for elementary school students' as a provision to support Students' in the 4.0 Education Era for a better future.

Abstract

Information and communication technology (ICT) is an indispensable tool for teachers to meet the global expectation of modern teaching techniques with the use of technology-based teaching and learning tools and facilities. This paper examines how schools can best integrate Information Communication, and Technology to support the teaching and learning process in the classroom and enhance quality secondary school education. Some of the problems that serve as obstructs in the wheel of quality education system include inadequate funding, lack of readiness, human readiness, system readiness, physical readiness, and teacher awareness, knowledge, and understanding of the benefits of ICTs in the effective management of secondary education among others in Nigeria. The Nigerian government is the primary driver of ICTs for education in Nigeria and other ICT providers as Donors. Some identified factors for the effective use of ICT were detailed and the greatest obstacle to technology use in secondary schools is a lack of readiness. Solutions to those challenges were enlisted among others are the planning process of integration of ICT should involve all stakeholders and national action plans must take cognizance of local constraints and salient educational needs. It was recommended among others that teachers should use ICT with students to collaborate with their peers and provide a high-quality education.

Abstract

This study explores the awareness and utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS) in enhancing chemistry education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Nigerian universities. Using a descriptive survey design, data were collected from 182 chemistry education lecturers across six geopolitical zones. The study assessed lecturers’ levels of awareness, accessibility, usage, and extent of integration of ITS platforms. Results revealed moderate to high awareness and a generally positive perception of ITS's value in improving teaching and learning outcomes. However, disparities in accessibility, institutional infrastructure, and practical integration hinder widespread adoption. While many lecturers acknowledged the benefits of ITS, challenges such as inadequate resources, limited institutional support, and inconsistent usage patterns remain. The study underscores the need for targeted training, institutional support, and policy reforms to facilitate the seamless adoption of ITS in chemistry education. These efforts are essential to harness the transformative potential of AI and ICT in the Nigerian higher education system.

Abstract

This article explores the challenge of equipping master's students in software engineering with the skills necessary for professional communication. It examines the job functions of programmers and the competencies outlined in the Federal State Educational Standards, highlighting a gap in readiness for professional communication. The research aims to develop a model to enhance this readiness in future master's students. The study involves creating and testing a model-building algorithm, analyzing relevant documents, refining the concept of communication readiness, and constructing a structural educational model. The methodology incorporates systemic, competency-based, and integrative approaches, using various analytical and modeling methods. The findings reveal a lack of sufficient readiness for professional communication among software engineering students. To address this, the authors propose an interdisciplinary model within the university curriculum, focusing on interactive teaching methods, interdisciplinary projects, and modern educational internet resources to boost student motivation and engagement. This model holds potential for application in master's level training programs, offering a framework to develop competencies in various aspects of professional communication, including business, scientific, and intercultural communication skills.

Abstract

This study investigated the effectiveness of group counseling based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in enhancing self-confidence among junior high school students, using a true experimental pretest-posttest control group design. Two instruments were employed: treatment and measurement. The treatment instrument consisted of a guide for implementing group counseling, while the measurement instrument was a self-confidence inventory. The findings demonstrated that ACT-based group counseling effectively enhances self-confidence among junior high school students. The study provided two recommendations: (i) for guidance and counseling teachers, ACT-based group counseling can be applied to strengthen students’ self-confidence and support their developmental understanding; and (ii) for future researchers, given that ACT-based counseling incorporates six core processes (acceptance, cognitive defusion, being present, self-as-context, values, and committed action). Future studies may explore its effectiveness with additional or alternative techniques.
