Abstract

This study aimed to examine the utilization of an application-based Character Improvement System (CIS) to strengthen students’ religious character through integration with the hidden curriculum. A qualitative case study approach was employed, using interviews, observations, and documentation to collect data from teachers, students, and parents. The findings showed that the implementation of the hidden curriculum through religious practices was reinforced by CIS, which recorded, monitored, and rewarded students’ daily behaviors. The system encouraged discipline, honesty, and responsibility because every positive action was systematically appreciated and became a school habit. The integration of CIS with the hidden curriculum created measurable and transparent supervision that involved collaboration among teachers, parents, and students. This research contributes novelty by demonstrating how digital applications can support character formation beyond formal instruction. The impact is to provide schools with a replicable model for cultivating noble values consistently and sustainably.

Various efforts were made to attract students' interest in learning, one of the efforts made by the teacher was to make learning videos with the aim of students being able to understand the lessons. The purpose of this study is to find out how online learning using audio-visual media can influence students to increase interest in learning. The subject taken in this study were elementary schools’ students from Bandung, Indonesia. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire that will be distributed by us to students, this questionnaire must be filled out before the research begins and after the research is carried out or pre-test and post-test. The result of the research show that the average of post-test score of students is 88% greater than the average pre-test score of 67% so the difference is 21%. Abstract

This study investigated the predictive power of students’ locus of control as well as a self-concept on ability levels of internet addiction among undergraduate students of al-hikmah University- Ilorin. A correlation survey research design was adopted for the study. Five research questions were answered and five null hypotheses were tested. The study was conducted in the Ilorin Metropolis of Kwara State. A convenient sampling technique was used to select 550 participants that use the e-library and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) regularly. Instruments such as the Self-Concept Scale, Locus of Control Scale and Internet Addiction Scale were adopted to gather information from the respondents. Data collected were analyzed using Pearson product-moment correlation (PPMC) and regression analysis to answer both the research questions and the null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. Findings revealed that self-concept, internal and external locus of control and gender significantly predicts internet addiction among undergraduate students of Al-Hikmah. The combination of self-concept and locus of control significantly predicts students’ internet addiction among undergraduate students of Al-Hikmah. We recommended that School counsellors should build self-reliance in external control-oriented students to strive harder even when anticipating that luck and fate could determine their Success. School counsellors should support internal control-oriented students on the need to develop self-efficacy and competency and use opportunities to facilitate them to attain their desired goals. The school management should enlighten their students on how to use their efforts in the use of the internet and advocate how to avoid being addicted to it.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and organizational communication on job satisfaction, with organizational commitment serving as a mediating factor in the educational context. A quantitative method was employed through a structured survey involving employees in an education-related industrial organization. The analysis was conducted using SPSS to test direct and indirect relationships among variables. The results indicate that both HRIS and communication significantly enhance job satisfaction, and this effect is further strengthened when organizational commitment is present. Because HRIS improves transparency and communication fosters engagement, employees feel more aligned with organizational goals, increasing satisfaction. These findings provide insights for educational institutions and human resource managers seeking to implement data-driven and participatory systems in line with SDG 8, which promotes decent work and economic growth through inclusive workplace strategies.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see whether the use of youtube videos could have a good impact on the English literacy of junior high school students. Although several studies research the same thing, the main novelties in this study are that this study has a positive impact on the spirit of teaching English teachers, which is different from the research conducted by Handayani entitled Utilization of youtube During the Covid 19 Pandemic for Learning Media English in Improving Vocabulary and Student Understanding, in this study youtube was only focused on the positive impact felt by students and was not explained about the increase in teacher teaching enthusiasm. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method by observing, interviewing, and explaining facts, and studying the results contained in the research results. The results of this study indicate that the use of youtube during online learning has a positive impact and increases the English literacy skills of junior high school students. In conclusion, students' English literacy skills can be improved by utilizing youtube videos during online learning. The impact that is felt after using youtube during online learning is the increase in students' English literacy and the teachers are more enthusiastic during the online learning period.

Abstract

The main objective of this descriptive research was to find out the students’ preferred instructional practices during the global pandemic. The respondents were 308 students coming from 11-course offerings enrolled during the first semester of the academic year 2021-2022. The study was conducted at Notre Dame of Tacurong College, Tacurong, Sultan Kudarat Province, the Philippines. Findings showed that the mean ratings of the eight items ranged from 2.64 to 6.24. Since ranking was used to determine the most and least preferred instructional practices, the item with the least mean rating is ranked 1, and the item with the highest mean rating is ranked 8. Hence, the three most preferred instructional practices are: Item 1, Assignments that ask students to express what they have learned and what they still need to learn, obtained the weighted mean of 2.64 (SD = 2.24) and interpreted as Strongly Preferred; Second is Item 3, Live sessions “zoom meetings” in which students can ask questions and participate in discussions, got the weighted mean of 3.31 (SD = 1.74) and interpreted as Preferred; and the third is Item 2, Frequent quizzes or other assessments, obtained a weighted mean of 3.44 (SD = 2.10) and interpreted as Preferred.

Abstract

The shift from traditional to technology-driven learning has brought numerous advantages, with the Internet of Things (IoT) emerging as a promising avenue for enhancing educational experiences. Despite its potential, undergraduates have not fully embraced IoT for learning, primarily due to a lack of awareness. This study investigates the awareness of IoT among undergraduates, considering gender and area of specialization. Using a descriptive survey method, the research focuses on undergraduates in Kwara State universities, employing random and stratified sampling. Data collection utilized a validated questionnaire, and analysis involved percentages, mean scores, t-tests, and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Findings revealed smartphones as the most widely used IoT devices. Gender significantly influenced IoT awareness. However, the area of specialization did not significantly impact awareness. Conclusively, undergraduates are employing IoT devices for learning, emphasizing the need for heightened awareness among female students and encouraging widespread utilization of these technologies for improved educational experiences.

Abstract

This study critically examines and advances existing methodologies in project and program portfolio management, aiming to enhance competencies within enterprise project portfolio management. It explores the imperative need for competency development in project portfolio management specialists, underlining its significance for the efficacy of project activities and business operations. The research highlights that current global trends—such as digital transformation, network economy shifts, and transaction cost restructuring—necessitate a revised skill set for project portfolio managers. A significant gap is identified in higher education's role in equipping graduates with the requisite competencies for effective portfolio management. Current educational paradigms often conflate individual project management skills with portfolio management competencies, a misconception prevalent in most modern enterprises. This disconnect is evident when industry leaders advise new graduates to disregard their university training. The findings indicate a significant disparity between the competencies demanded by contemporary businesses for project portfolio and program management and those possessed by university graduates. The study identifies crucial competencies for project portfolio managers and emphasizes the necessity of aligning educational outcomes with business requirements.
