Al-Irfan is a journal of Arabic Literature and Islamic Studies which is published Biannually on March and September by Arabic Literature Department, Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Darul Ulum Banyuanyar, Pamekasan. The journal covers language issues researched in the branches of applied linguistics, such as sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, critical discourse analysis, pragmatics, stylistics, corpus linguistics, translation, Education and others. In the area of literature, it covers literary history, literary theory, literary criticism and others, which may include written texts, movies and other media. And this journal also contains many varians of Isamic Studies, among others: Islamic education, the shariah, Islamic thought, economics, and other Islamic Studies.

Abstract

Karya sastra tidak hadir dalam ruang kosong. Ia merupakan cerminan dari realitas yang melingkupinya. Peristiswa Arab Spring (Musim Semi Arab) yang berawal dari tahun 2011 di Tunisia lalu menjalar ke sejumlah negara di kawasan Timur Tengah tidak luput dari sorotan para sastrawan Arab dalam karya mereka. Tulisan ini mendeskripsikan bagaimana ekspresidan representasi Arab Spring yang terekam dalam literatur sastra Arab.Dari kajian ini ditemukan sejumlah karya sastra Arab berupa novel, puisi, memoar, dan komik yang merepresentasikan aspek-aspek tematik tertentu (waktu, ruang, dan karakter) dari narasi Arab Spring. Selain itu, muncul genre baru dalam sastra Arab, yaitu sastra digital dalam bentuk klip video sastra yang mengekspresikan tahap baru dalam evolusi sastra Arab.Arab Spring telah menandai munculnya babak baru dalam kehidupan di dunia Arab yang selama ini dikekang oleh rezim diktator, yaitu keberanian untuk menyuarakan dan melawan ketidakadilan, penindasan, dan pelanggaran hak-hak asasi manusia yang terjadi di negerinya.

Abstract

Fisika adalah studi tentang alam natural. Dalam sejarah Pemikiran Islam, ada dua pokok madzhab intelektual di mana alam menjadi perbincangannya: madzhab Atomisme dan madzhab Hilomorfisme. Atomisme biasanya milik para mutakallimin, atau para teolog spekulatif Islam, yang umumnya mendekati isu-isu fisik dari sudut pandang yang atomistik. Sementara Hilomorfisme biasanya dimiliki oleh para filosof Muslim yang mempunyai akar dalam tradisi intelektual Yunani dan lebih spesifik lagi merupakan pemikiran-pemikiran filosofis Aristoteles. Tulisan ini akan menjelaskan teori atom yang ditemukan di antara para mutakallimin, yang biasa disebut dengan madzhab Atomisme, kemudian diikuti dengan penjelasan filsafat alam madzhab Aristoteles dan Ibn Sina yang biasa disebut dengan madzhab Hilomorfisme.

Abstract

Perlindungan bagi nasabah bank merupakan hal yang sangat penting demi menjaga kepercayaan nasabah dan kelancaran kegiatan usaha bank. kepercayaan ini harus terus dijaga mengingat modal utama bank berasal dari dana simpanan masyarakat. Saat ini banyak sekali kasus hilangnya dana simpanan akibat kecurangan yang dilakukan oleh pihak bank. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan peran Otoritas Jasa Keuangan dalam proses pengembalian dana simpanan nasabah yang hilang. Pemerintah Indonesia telah membentuk lembaga independen yang mempunyai wewenang untuk melaksanakan pengaturan, pengawasan, pemeriksaan, dan penyidikan terhadap bank yang dianggap merugikan nasabah. Peran Otoritas Jasa Keuangan dalam proses pengembalian dana simpanan nasabah yang hilang adalah dengan menyiapkan perangkat yang memadai untuk menyelenggarakan pelayanan pengaduan nasabah, membuat mekanisme pengaduan nasabah, serta memfasilitasi penyelesaian pengaduan nasabah yang dirugikan. Otoritas Jasa Keuangan juga dapat memerintahkan atau melakukan tindakan tertentu kepada bank agar menyelesaikan pengaduan nasabah yang dirugikan oleh bank dimaksud, mengajukan gugatan untuk memperoleh kembali dana yang disimpan nasabah dari pihak bank, baik yang berada di bawah penguasaan pihak bank maupun pihak lain dengan itikad tidak baik, atau memperoleh ganti kerugian dari pihak bank. Keseluruhan kegiatan OJK tersebut telah sesuai dengan ajaran Islam

Abstract

Tulisan ini berangkat dari beberapa pertanyaan, di antaranya: mengapa masyarakat Desa Batukerbuy melakukan penambangan pasir liar secara terus menerus? Bagaimana respon pemerintah Pamekasan? Apakah penerapan syariat Islam di Kabupaten Pamekasan yang tertuang dalam konsep Gerbang Salam memiliki pengaruh dan dampak terhadap pelestarian lingkungan? Bagaimana tinjauan maqâṣidî terhadap kerusakan laut yang terjadi di Desa Batukerbuy? Dalam hal ini, penulis menggunakan metode wawancara (field research) dan mengkaji literatur (library research) untuk mengetahui jawaban dari beberapa pertanyaan tersebut dan mengajukan pendekatan maqâṣid asy-syarî’ah dengan teori ḥifẓ al-bî’ah untuk merespon kerusakan lingkungan di laut Desa Batukerbuy. Mengingat spirit pemerintah Pamekasan untuk membangun masyarakat Pamekasan yang Islami melalui Perda Syariat Islam dengan konsep Gerbang Salam. Sementara di sisi lain terjadi kerusakan lingkungan laut di Desa Batukerbuy yang harus segera diatasi. Hasil tulisan ini adalah: pertama, penambangan pasir ilegal dilakukan oleh masyarakat Desa Batukerbuy untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sehari-hari; kedua, belum adanya penegakan hukum dari para aparatur negara (kepolisian). Sementara respon pemerintah Pamekasan, baik Bupati (2008-2013 dan 2013-2017), mau pun Kecamatan belum optimal dan maksimal, sehingga penambangan pasir semakin merajalela; dan ketiga, konsep Gerbang Salam dan penerapan syariat Islam di Kabupaten Pamekasan belum menyentuh kepada persoalan lingkungan, karena masih terfokus kepada persoalan akidah, syariat, dan akhlak. Sementara dalam tinjauan maqâṣid asy-syarî’ah (tujuan syariat Islam) menjaga kelestarian lingkungan (ḥifẓ al-bî’ah) merupakan salah satu tujuan syariat Islam yang harus diwujudkan, sehingga hal ini dapat dijadikan pertimbangan oleh pemerintah Pamekasan untuk melestarikan lingkungan dan menanggulangi kerusakan laut yang terjadi di Desa Batukerbuy melalui Perda Syariah.

Abstract

The command to adopt Arabic writing in Islam predates obligations such as prayer, fasting, zakat, and pilgrimage, which highlights its significance beyond mere ritual. This command, revealed during the earliest stages of the Prophet Muhammad’s mission, indicates that Arabic writing holds a crucial role in shaping Islamic civilization. The problem addressed in this study is the lack of comprehensive understanding regarding the foundational importance of Arabic writing in the development and expansion of Islamic culture and law. The objective is to examine the historical and functional roles of Arabic writing as a unifying tool for communication, governance, and the dissemination of Islamic teachings across diverse regions. The study employs a qualitative historical method, analyzing classical Islamic texts and early records of literacy practices to trace the evolution and influence of Arabic writing. The findings reveal that Arabic writing was instrumental in connecting societies, facilitating legal and administrative systems, and ensuring the accurate transmission of the Qur’an and Hadith. Moreover, evidence suggests that the Prophet Muhammad himself acknowledged its centrality by promoting literacy and, according to some traditions, acquiring the ability to write later in life. This research contributes to the broader understanding of the interplay between language, religion, and cultural identity in Islamic civilization. It underscores the idea that Arabic writing was not merely a linguistic tool but a pivotal instrument for the preservation and global dissemination of Islamic values and governance.

Abstract

In fact, theteachingof Arabic grammar had many problems, including: no interesting of students towards these subjects and the learning takes a long time. There are those who argue that grammar should not be studied specifically so that students will take it as a primary goal. Then one of the characteristics of grammar is in need of memorizing and analyzing strengths, this gives a negative thought that grammar is a difficult subject. Probably, those negative facts due to the absence of teaching methods that can make it easier, because the difficult subject is to definitely need an easy method. Tamyiz method tries to plant the thought that grammar is easy and fun, because the subjects and the activities inside composed of songs, applause, symbols and magic formula (mantra), so that it makes it easier for students to remember and memorize. It is interesting to study deeper in Ocean along the students who are generally adult, and, indeed,the differentstudents demandsthe different strategies. Tamyiz method colored with various movements of childhood that are not duly presented to adult students, but applying it to the adult students will need a special character of teachers, so that even the students are adults deign to follow the songs and all the contents of Tamyiz method. This research is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach. The data were collected through observation in the field, interviews and documentation. The method of analysis is using the method formulated by Miles &Huberman . The results of this research are : 1) Description of teaching grammar by Tamyiz method consists of learning objectives, the student is able to translate the Holy Quran, but it is not the understandable translation, but it is closer to the understanding of the meaning of the Holy Quran. Practice, such as songs, symbols, mantraand practices to translate the Holy Quran can help students in strengthening of understanding and memorizing subjects. In addition, the subjects are also arranged in a form easily to be memorized and understood. There are also some differences between the subjects of Tamyizand the subjects on ancient Arabic grammar, which aims to simplify. 2) The positive effects of this teaching are: 1) to plant the thoughts that grammar is an easy subject 2) students will be able to teach after they finish studying 3) learning grammar easily 4) understanding of the meaning of the Quran in the student’s futures.

Abstract

One of the greatest educational problems worldwide, and particularly in this country, is the moral crisis. Morality is the foundation of education; regardless of its progress and development, education cannot be accomplished without ethics. Recognizing the urgency of addressing this issue, scholars and thinkers have proposed solutions grounded in moral principles, among them the eminent scholar Abū Ḥāmid al-Ghazālī, widely known as Ḥujjat al-Islām. He devoted significant attention to ethics, as evidenced in his writings, especially in Iḥyāʾ ʿUlūm al-Dīn. This study focuses on one of his notable works, Ayyuhā al-Walad, to uncover his educational thought and its practical application. The research problem is defined as follows: What is al-Ghazālī’s educational concept, and how can it be applied? Accordingly, the study aims to explore al-Ghazālī’s educational philosophy and its relevance to contemporary moral challenges. The methodology applied is a library-based inductive approach, gathering primary sources—particularly Ayyuhā al-Walad—along with secondary references. The data were analyzed using a descriptive method to examine the phenomenon as it is and to provide a systematic interpretation. The findings reveal that al-Ghazālī emphasizes moral and spiritual education as the core of human development, advocating for self-discipline, sincerity, and the integration of knowledge with action. This research contributes to the broader discourse on moral education by presenting al-Ghazālī’s ideas as a timeless framework for addressing ethical decay in modern education, offering practical insights for educators and policymakers seeking to foster values-based learning.

Abstract

The teaching of Arabic grammar (nahwu) often poses challenges for students due to its abstract rules and memorization demands, which frequently result in low levels of comprehension and achievement. This study aims to address these challenges by examining the effectiveness of the Mumtaz Method in enhancing students’ understanding of nahwu. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) framework to systematically reflect upon and improve classroom practices based on iterative observations and evaluations. The participants were students of class C2 at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Idadiyah Campus III Putri DDI Mangkoso, Soppeng Riaja District, Barru Regency. The Mumtaz Method, which adapts familiar melodies such as religious and children’s songs into learning media, was applied to facilitate the memorization and internalization of Arabic grammatical structures. The study was carried out over two cycles, following the stages of pre-cycle (initial reflection), Cycle I, and Cycle II. The findings demonstrated a notable improvement in students’ comprehension of nahwu. The average score increased from 61.90 with a completion rate of 33% at the pre-cycle stage to 68.09 with 52% completion in Cycle I, and further to 77.38 with a 96% completion rate in Cycle II. These results confirm the effectiveness of the Mumtaz Method in improving Arabic syntax learning. The study contributes to applied linguistics and language pedagogy by offering an innovative, culturally relevant strategy to support grammar acquisition in young learners.

Abstract

This study explores the use of Artificial Intelligence technology, specifically Voicemaker applications, in improving speaking skills. The aims of this study are identifying the steps for using Voicemaker and identifying the challenges and solutions in utilizing AI Voicemaker during the teaching and learning speaking skills process. The research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through interviews, documentation, and observations of participants engaging with the technology in various learning contexts. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Findings indicate that the use of AI Voicemaker in teaching Arabic speaking skills is carried out through six steps: sound presentation by AI as auditory input, pronunciation imitation by students, structured practice (question and answer, substitution, transformation), free practice through dialogue and simulation, reinforcement with audio-visual media, and pronunciation evaluation and correction. In its implementation, the use of AI Voicemaker in teaching Arabic speaking skills to beginner-level students faces several challenges, including difficulties in imitating complex Arabic phonemes such as ‘ain and ghain, the lack of interactivity in providing feedback, students’ low self-awareness of pronunciation errors, and boredom caused by passive listening activities. The applied solutions include phonetic guidance from the teacher, the use of peer correction, self-monitoring exercises, and varied methods to make learning more interactive and contextual. The contribution of this research lies in providing a practical model for integrating AI-based Voicemaker tools into Arabic speaking instruction, offering structured steps and adaptive solutions that can guide educators in developing more effective, interactive, and technology-supported language learning environments.

Abstract

Berbicara mengenai sastra tentu tiada lepas dari pengarang dan masyarakat. Pengarang sebagai subjek karya sastra sedangkan masyarakat sebagai objeknya kemudian berkat seorang pengarang maka terciptalah sebuah karya sastra. Dalam kehidupan masyarakat tentu tiada bisa terlepas dari perseteruan ataupun konflik baik itu bersifat konflik antar pribadi atau perorangan maupun antar kelompok dan golongan. Seringkali seorang pengarang atau sastrawan mengangkat mengenai peristiwa sejarah yang bersifat fakta lalu dituangkannya ke dalam karya sastranya dalam hal ini adalah novel. Namun terlepas dari semua itu tidak bisa juga dikatakan bahwa semua karya sastra bersifat realita. Sebagaimana yang tercantum dalam novel Amal fī Sūriā karya seorang sastrawan perempuan asal Aleppo, Suriah yang bernama Dina Nasrini. Di dalam novel tersebut banyak sekali menceritakan mengenai konflik sosial ataupun peperangan yang terjadi di Suriah pada tahun 2011 lalu.Konflik tersebut bisa disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor baik itu ekonomi, politik,keagamaan dan sebagainya. Dalam melakukan penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan pendekatan objektif dengan memberikan perhatian utama pada unsur-unsur yang terdapat di dalam teks cerita yang menjadi objek material dalam penelitian ini. Selain daripada itu, peneliti juga menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis yaitu dengan cara mendeskripsikan fakta-fakta yang kemudian di susul dengan analisis.1 Langkah yang akan ditempuh peneliti adalah membaca dan menghayati dengan seksama teks yang akan diteliti untuk mengungkapkan teks aspek social yang terjadi dalam novel tersebut. Ada dua teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Pertama, teori sastra Rene Wellek, sastra sebagai cerminan kenyataan. Sosiologi sastra sangat erat hubungannya dengan kehidupan masyarakat. Syawqi Dayf pun mengungkapkan bahwa tidak ada sastra tanpa adanya emanasi masyarakat. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa novel Amal fī Sūriā sarat sekali menggambarkan mengenai konflik sosial Suriah yang terjadi pada masa pemerintaha Bashar Assad di Suriah hal itu sangat terlihat dalam teks yang banyak sekali menggambarkan mengenai kekejaman-kekejaman yang dilakukan oleh Bashar Assad terhadap rakyat Suriah. Perbedaan dalam aspek ideologi, politik menjadi faktor utama yang menyebabkan konflik semakin meluas bahkan berujung pada peperangan sipil di Suriah. Melalui novel ini, pengarang telah memberikan gambaran bahwa rezim Assad merupakan salah satu contoh dari rezim yang otoriter, tiran dan juga diktator terhadap rakyatnya sendiri. Dan novel ini dapat menjadi cerminan mengenai peristiwa pada masanya yaitu masa pemerintahan Bashar Assad.
