Abstract

Writing correct dictation is one of the basic skills in learning Arabic. This study aims to analyze the forms of dictation errors of grade VIII students at the Al-Fauzi Fadillah Amal Galang Tahfidz Qur'an Islamic Boarding School, and to determine the factors causing dictation errors. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach, by analyzing the documentation of students' dictation worksheets. Data were collected using documentation, observation and interview methods. The results of the study indicate that dictation errors still often occur, including: errors in writing hijaiyah letters because their sounds are almost the same, errors in the form of writing hijaiyah letters, errors in connecting and separating letters, and errors in writing tanwin. These errors are caused by linguistic factors; namely: There is new vocabulary that has never been heard and practiced in daily activities, lack of student ability regarding how to write correct Arabic, limited ability to distinguish the sounds of hijaiyah letters that are almost the same and lack of practice in writing hijaiyah letters. And non-linguistic factors; namely: Low interest or motivation in learning for students, non-conducive learning atmosphere, insufficient learning time, poor vision and hearing for students when teachers provide learning materials, and imla' learning which is still new to Arabic language learning.

Abstract

The trend of Arabic language learning needs today cannot be separated from the use of interactive technology-based multimedia, one of which is the Canva application, where lecturers can design Arabic language learning accompanied by video, sound, animation so that students are highly enthusiastic about the material provided. The purpose of this study is to investigate how the use of canva interactive design as an innovation in Arabic language learning at STAI Auliaurrasyidin Campus and the results of utilizing canva-based technology media for lecturers and students. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study research type and is descriptive in nature. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation and interviews. The research findings show that the Canva media used by lecturers has many features that help in the design of interactive Arabic language materials in class, such as making mufradat cards, making mufradat learning videos with Canva, and making online presentations via the Web. Some of the obstacles in using design in Canva are that educators still do not know how to create designs to make them look attractive, lack of stable signal when designing lessons, and limited infrastructure in applying interactive video media Canva. The way to overcome the obstacles is to hold socialization such as workshpp on the use of canva interactive media for all educators as a learning innovation. Furthermore, the use of canva media encourages the motivation and learning outcomes of students.

Abstract

Mufradat or vocabulary is one of the language elements that must be given to Arabic language learners and is the basis for language learning. To improve the mastery of mufradat, a strategy is needed in its learning. Improving vocabulary is generally considered an important part of learning a language or developing one's skills in a language one already knows. Vocabulary learning should always be improved because there are difficulties for students in remembering and using the vocabulary that have been learned. The purpose of this study is to find out the strategies applied by Arabic language teachers in improving mastery of vocabulary and to find out whether the strategies applied are effective or not. Researchers used qualitative research methods, with data collection techniques through interviews aimed at teachers and students, observation and documentation. The result of this study is that Arabic teachers are ineffective in applying the right strategy to students to improve mastery of vocabulary. The strategy needed to improve the mastery of vocabulary is a simple repetition strategy, by the way every learning will begin, the teacher repeats the past learning and often looks for the meaning of the vocabulary to be learned

Abstract

The process of language acquisition in children is not always immediate. There are various ways through which language can be learned, such as through familial interactions or exposure to music. Research indicates that music, including children's songs, plays a role in enhancing cognitive and language development in young children. This study investigates how Arabic children's songs can positively impact early language skills. Specifically, it aims to examine the influence of Arabic children's songs on language development during early childhood. The research was conducted using qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research. Data were collected from primary and secondary sources through observation and interviews. The analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman model which consists of 4 stages, namely: (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data presentation, and (4) decision making or verification. The findings suggest that Arabic children's songs significantly contribute to early language development. The rich vocabulary present in these songs serves as a beneficial stimulus for children, aiding in their language acquisition process. Moreover, Arabic children's songs have the potential to boost children's motivation to learn and accelerate their language skills in an enjoyable and interactive manner.

Abstract

The Harry Potter series is one of the most phenomenal works of children's literature. It has attracted public attention since it was first published in 1997 and has received increasing attention as time goes by. This study is purposed to investigate whether the Harry Potter series, as one of the most successful, popular, and influential works of children’s literature, is incapable of challenging stereotypes of gender. Contrary to the popular belief that says otherwise, this study demonstrates the part when the characters of this series are continuously behaving and interacting with each other using the typical gender traits. Several scholars may claim that this series is gender equal and gives the same opportunity to both boys and girls. The author states that she has the intention of gender equality. However, as the story is being conducted, it is shown that this series is still unable to challenge gender stereotypes

Abstract

This research will examine the Western world's metanarrative regarding the issue of terrorism and its impact on the Eastern world, especially the Middle East region. Terrorism is a complex issue and often becomes absurd when used as a political narrative by the ruling elites of the Western world. The West often enters the arena of war in the Middle East and carries out proxy wars against other opposing powers. The West, especially the US, often blurs the facts about who the perpetrators and victims of terrorism are. This research uses qualitative research methods to describe the phenomenon and discourse of terrorism developing in the Middle East. This research uses Pierre Boudieu's theory of genetic structuralism as an analytical tool. From this research, it was found that there was injustice in the West, especially the US, in using the narrative of terrorism. The US also uses violent methods to carry out counter-terrorism, which only gives rise to new terrorists emerging
