Abstract

Breastfeeding is ineffective because both mother and baby have difficulty breastfeeding. Lack of knowledge about proper care and the dangers of nipple abrasions lead to complications of breast inflammation (mastitis), abscesses and even infections. Preventive efforts in optimizing breastfeeding success were carried out through nipple wound care training at the Tosiba Health Center for 35 breastfeeding mothers. The purpose of the activity is to implement the tridarma of higher education in the form of training so that the knowledge and skills of mothers in caring for nipples increase in the hope that the breastfeeding process takes place safely without complications. The service method goes through three stages, namely filling out questionnaires, discussing the material and direct practice for breastfeeding mothers. The results of the training increased knowledge from 35% to 78%, while the performance was 10% to 65%. Conclusion The science and techniques of nipple care are very important for expectant mothers and nursing mothers to maintain hygiene, strengthen nipples, reduce the risk of wounds during breastfeeding and avoid infection, as well as smooth milk production and breastfeeding babies well. Inter-related cooperation in Puskesmas as a follow-up to training, for the implementation of activities that are beneficial especially for the health of mothers during breastfeeding.

Abstract

The effectiveness of students' diets, levels of exercise, and other healthy behaviors are strongly correlated with their learning processes, which in turn influence their academic performance. The real issue is the students' hectic schedules and precarious financial situations, which frequently harm their sleep and nutrition quality. This paper discussed the significance of teaching students the value of maintaining their dietary intake, physical activity levels, and sleep schedules. Students frequently put their academic activities and part-time jobs as priorities without considering the associated health risks. Therefore, we propose an activity integrating scientific and Islamic perspectives to educate students about health-related matters. The activity includes presentations on sleep patterns, nutrition, and hydration, integrating scientific research with teachings from the Quran and Hadith. Students are encouraged to engage in discussions and share experiences related to the material. When the community service program with Indonesian students in Taiwan was evaluated, it became clear that participants' knowledge and comprehension had significantly improved. According to the article's conclusion, the program successfully raised participant awareness of the value of staying healthy while studying from an Islamic perspective.

Abstract

Alcohol consumption among young people has become a common practice. Based on interviews, the majority of youth in Association X in Jakarta frequently consume alcoholic beverages. A community service activity titled "A Generation Free from Alcohol" was aimed at increasing knowledge and intentions to reduce alcohol consumption among the youth group in Association X. The methods used included counseling, focused group discussions, and the creation of a shared commitment, which involved 11 key individuals from Association X. The activity began with a pretest to assess knowledge and commitment, followed by the presentation of material on the dangers of alcohol, its effects, and sharing experiences related to overcoming alcohol addiction. This was followed by focused group discussions, presentations of discussion results, a posttest using the same questionnaire, and a joint commitment declaration. The results showed the greatest increase in knowledge regarding ways to overcome alcohol addiction (78.6%), the causes of alcohol addiction (50%), and the negative impact of alcohol on mental health (41.3%). This activity successfully provided cognitive benefits to participants regarding the dangers of alcohol and its effects on the body. However, the activity has not yet optimally reduced the intention to consume alcohol or encourage peers to drink alcoholic beverages. The implication is that similar activities in the future should not only focus on knowledge transfer but also develop strategies that address the antecedents and determinants of young people's intentions to consume alcohol.

Additionally, they agreed to cooperate in waste management in the school canteen. The pocket book were given to food handlers as a guide to serve safe foods. Three health education posters were successfully displayed in strategic locations at the school. The socialization process successfully formed a support system from the school community to realize a healthy eco-green canteen. The implementation of the eco-green healthy canteen was successful due to the collaboration between partners and the service team. However, it is crucial to conduct extensive educational activities for school residents regarding the implementation of healthy canteens. Additionally, monitoring and evaluating the policies agreed upon by the school management and traders in the school is necessary.
