Abstract

This study stems from the implementation of Regional Regulation of Padangsidimpuan City Number 6 of 2006, which mandates that female students, educators, and educational staff of the Islamic faith wear Muslim attire. After school hours, the use of the hijab varies—some students consistently wear it, others wear it occasionally, and some do not wear it at all. Using a phenomenological approach with a descriptive qualitative method, this study collected data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that female students at SMA Negeri 1 Padangsidimpuan interpret the hijab in three main aspects: social identity, social control, and fashion. This regulation also plays a role in introducing Muslim attire from an early age, shaping dress habits in accordance with religious teachings, and protecting students from foreign fashion influences that contradict religious, cultural, and ethical norms. The factors influencing students' dress behavior include religious understanding, habitual compliance with the regulation, family influence, peer environment, and social media.

Utilization is the process of making something more beneficial. In this study, utilization refers to how students use the time provided by teachers to access religious websites. The Linktree application is a platform that integrates various links into a single page, making learning easier for users. The advantages of Linktree include ease of operation, display management, as well as adding and removing links. This application can be used for learning evaluations such as quizzes, matching exercises, and short essays. According to Zaccaria, Linktree is an optimal alternative for learning. This research is qualitative, focusing on the utilization of learning media at MTs N 5 Kabupaten Mandailing Natal. Linktree enriches teachers' and students' knowledge in using online media. Religious teachers use it to develop students' character through active interaction. Additionally, Linktree serves as a solution for students who fall behind in their studies. As an interactive tool, teachers can set learning boundaries in an online format. Remedial learning through Linktree allows students to reach the expected minimum competency standards. Thus, this application is an innovation in enhancing learning effectiveness in the school environment.

Abstract

Islamic education emphasizes not only the transmission of knowledge but also the development of noble character and moral discipline among students. One method used to instill discipline is punishment, which often sparks debate regarding its appropriateness in educational settings. This study aims to explore the concept of punishment in education based on the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad. The research employs a library research method with a descriptive-qualitative approach. Primary data sources include major hadith collections such as Sunan Abu Dawud and Sahih Muslim, supported by secondary literature in Islamic education and educational psychology. The findings indicate that punishment in Islam is not an act of violence but a form of ta’dib a nurturing process rooted in justice, compassion, and educational purpose. The Hadith provides ethical guidelines for administering punishment, emphasizing proportionality, non-violence, and character development. Thus, when implemented according to Islamic values, punishment can serve as an effective educational tool to foster holistic student growth both intellectually and spiritually.

Abstract

The learning of Qur’an and Hadith plays a significant role in shaping students’ character and social attitudes. However, at MTsN Persiapan 3 Padangsidimpuan, there are still challenges such as limited teaching materials and insufficient media to support students' understanding of social values. This study aims to develop Qur’an and Hadith instructional materials to improve students’ social attitudes using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The analysis phase identified students’ needs, followed by the design of instructional materials based on Qur’anic and Hadith values. The development stage included expert validation and limited trials. Implementation was carried out with Grade VII students. Validation results indicated the materials were highly valid: subject matter experts (93.1%), media experts (94%), and language experts (93.1%). The practicality was also high, with positive responses from students (81%) and Qur’an-Hadith teachers (87.5%). The effectiveness of the materials in enhancing social attitudes—such as empathy, cooperation, and social responsibility—was very satisfactory, with a score of 2.220 and a percentage of 85.3%. Therefore, the developed instructional materials are considered appropriate and effective for use in Qur’an and Hadith learning at MTsN Persiapan 3 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

Negative behaviors among teenagers—such as fighting, alcohol abuse, and criminal activity—are increasingly prevalent and have become a matter of public concern. This trend reflects a weakness in character education and a lack of influence from religious education, particularly from parents and community leaders. This study aims to develop an Islamic Religious Education (PAI) educational module for parents and community leaders to address negative youth behaviors in Paran Napa Dolok Village, Barumun Barat Subdistrict, Padang Lawas Regency. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) based on the 4D model: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The results indicate that the developed module is "valid" (media validator: 74.2%, material validator: 85%) and highly practical (parents: 82.9%, community leaders: 83%). The module contains content that is easy to understand and relevant to community needs. Collaboration between parents and community leaders has proven effective in shaping adolescent character. However, challenges such as limited resources and diverse backgrounds still need to be addressed through continued support from various parties.

Abstract

The phenomenon of declining moral values and religious attitudes among students—such as a lack of courtesy, increased violence, and low empathy—has become a serious concern in the field of education. To address this issue, one approach that has been implemented is the Joyful School Movement (Gerakan Sekolah Menyenangkan, or GSM). GSM aims to create a friendly and enjoyable learning environment that supports the development of positive character traits, including students’ religious attitudes. This study employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, focusing on the direct experiences of students, teachers, and school principals in implementing GSM. The findings indicate that GSM is carried out through humanistic learning, regular religious activities such as group prayers and discussions, the use of religious visual media, and the involvement of student religious organizations (ROHIS). The positive impacts include increased student participation in religious activities, greater awareness of worship practices, and the emergence of polite, disciplined, and responsible behavior. The success of GSM is supported by the school’s commitment, the availability of facilities, and parental involvement. However, challenges remain, such as the low awareness among some students, a shortage of religious mentors, external environmental influences, and limited time.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning at State Vocational High School 1 Barumun is still predominantly conducted through lecture-based methods and the use of textbooks. As a result, it tends to be less engaging and less effective in enhancing students’ understanding of worship-related materials, which are both conceptual and practical in nature. The lack of active student involvement and the limited use of educational technology present significant challenges in the digital era, especially considering that today’s students are digital natives who respond more positively to interactive and technology-based media. Therefore, there is a need for innovative, technology-integrated learning media that align with their characteristics and support the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, involving IRE teachers and Phase E students (Grade 10). The instruments used included observation, interviews, questionnaires, tests, and expert validations in content, media, and language. The results showed that the developed media was highly valid (95.48%), highly practical (95.50% from teachers and 82.45% from students), and moderately effective, with an average N-Gain of 63.96. Thus, the Quizizz-based digital learning media is considered suitable for improving students’ understanding and active engagement in Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

Indonesia is a nation endowed with competent and skilled human resources. As a developing country, Indonesia faces many challenges that must be addressed. One of the greatest challenges comes from the Indonesian education sector, which must continuously adapt to technological advancements, particularly in the field of education. Educational technology in Indonesia plays a vital role in advancing 21st-century learning. Twenty-first-century learning refers to teaching and learning processes between educators and students that integrate information and communication technology. This approach also requires educators to be prepared to shift learning models and instructional strategies from those that are teacher-centered to approaches that are student-centered. To achieve 21st-century learning in basic education, educators must serve as the main driving force in education and play a crucial role in integrating technology into the learning process. Through the integration of technology in every learning activity, along with support from parents, school principals, and the government, it is expected that a young generation will be produced that is intelligent, has strong character, and is ready to face the Era 5.0.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the influence of the presence of Islam on the social and cultural aspects of society, as well as to explain the role of Islamic teachings in shaping and transforming the social order. The discussion focuses on how Islamic teachings, particularly those derived from the Qur’an, are understood and implemented by Muslims within a dynamic socio-cultural reality. This study employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach through a comprehensive analysis of relevant sources in the field of philosophical Islamic studies. This approach is used to explore the relationship between normative Islamic teachings and the social construction of society. The findings indicate that the teachings and commands of the Qur’an, as practiced by Muslims, have a significant influence on the formation of values, patterns of interaction, and the social and cultural structures of society. In Indonesia, Islam has developed through processes of dialogue and acculturation with local cultures without diminishing the substance of its normative teachings. This is evident in the religious practices of Javanese and Malay communities, as well as in the marpangir tradition among the Batak Angkola people, which has undergone a process of value reinterpretation in accordance with the principle of tawhid. This study affirms that Islam functions not only as a system of belief but also as a social force capable of shaping cultural order and promoting social change oriented toward the values of justice, public welfare, and social harmony. Through a contextual and inclusive approach, Islam can be presented as a religion that is adaptive to socio-cultural change while maintaining its normative foundations.
