Abstract

Reputation management is a crucial element in maintaining and restoring public trust in philanthropic organizations. This study aims to analyze the reputation management strategies implemented by the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) in responding to controversies surrounding donations by McDonald’s Indonesia to Palestine. The research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, document analysis, and participant observation, and analyzed using triangulation to ensure validity. The findings reveal that BAZNAS employed three primary strategies to restore public trust: (1) Transparent Communication, by providing clarifications through mass media and digital platforms to educate the public about the donation fund management mechanisms; (2) Strategic Collaboration, through partnerships with independent parties for audits and evaluations; and (3) Branding Enhancement, through campaigns emphasizing BAZNAS's commitment to humanitarian values and sustainability. These findings indicate that a holistic approach focusing on communication and strengthening institutional values can effectively mitigate negative impacts on an organization's reputation. This study contributes theoretically to the field of reputation management in philanthropic organizations and offers practical implications for similar institutions in addressing trust crises.

The research aims to analyze how multicultural values are integrated into teaching practices, classroom interactions, and school culture. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through interviews with teachers and students, classroom observations, and documentation analysis. The findings reveal that multicultural education is implemented through three key strategies: (1) Integrative curriculum design, in which teachers incorporate themes of tolerance, diversity, and inclusivity into lesson plans and learning materials; (2) Student-centered learning, which encourages dialogue, collaborative activities, and reflective discussions that foster mutual respect among students of varied backgrounds; and (3) Supportive school environment, characterized by democratic communication patterns, respect for differences, and school programs that promote cultural harmony. Despite these positive efforts, several challenges persist, including limited teacher training on multicultural pedagogy and insufficient learning resources. Overall, the implementation of multicultural education in IRE classes contributes significantly to shaping students' character, promoting interreligious understanding, and strengthening a harmonious multicultural school climate.

Abstract

This study investigates the alignment between personal values and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives as a critical factor in retaining Generation Z talent within creative enterprises. As this cohort prioritizes ethical authenticity over traditional incentives, understanding the mechanisms of value congruence is essential for organizational sustainability. A qualitative approach was employed, utilizing semi-structured interviews with 15 Generation Z professionals working in various creative firms in Indonesia. Data were analyzed using Thematic Analysis to identify recurring patterns regarding value alignment, ethical expectations, and retention drivers. The study reveals that Generation Z employees perceive CSR not merely as a corporate obligation but as a reflection of their personal identity. Three key themes emerged: (1) "Ethical Transparency" as a basis for trust, (2) "Impactful Participation" where talent seeks direct involvement in social initiatives, and (3) "Value Congruence" as a primary mediator for long-term commitment. Disconnects between corporate claims and actual practices (CSR-washing) were identified as a major catalyst for turnover. This research contributes to the burgeoning literature on talent management by providing a nuanced understanding of how personal-corporate value alignment functions specifically within the high-fluidity environment of creative industries, moving beyond generalized workforce studies.

Abstract

This research investigates the strategic decision-making process of startup founders who undertake business pivots in response to a significant decline in local market demand. In the volatile landscape of the digital economy, the ability to pivot is often a prerequisite for survival; however, the cognitive and organizational mechanisms behind this strategic shift—especially when triggered by shrinking local demand—remain under-explored in qualitative economic literature. This study aims to fill this gap by deconstructing how founders interpret market signals, evaluate existing resources, and ultimately decide to alter their core business models. Using a qualitative approach with a multiple-case study design, this research involved in-depth interviews with startup founders from various sectors who successfully or partially navigated a pivot within the last years. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify recurring patterns in the decision-making process. The findings reveal that the decision to pivot is not merely a rational-economic response to declining revenue but is heavily influenced by "bounded rationality," where founders must balance empirical market data with intuition and stakeholder pressure. The study identifies three critical phases in the pivot decision-making process: Crisis Recognition, where founders distinguish between temporary market fluctuations and permanent structural shifts; Strategic Re-orientation, involving the search for "adjacent possibilities" or new market niches; and Resource Realignment, where existing capital and human resources are reconfigured to support the new direction. Furthermore, the research highlights that a "founder's psychological resilience" and "cognitive flexibility" act as crucial moderators in determining the speed and success of the pivot. The implications of this study are twofold. Theoretically, it extends the resource-based view (RBV) and dynamic capabilities theory by providing a granular look at the micro-foundations of strategic flexibility in small-scale entrepreneurial ventures. Practically, the results offer a strategic roadmap for startup founders and venture capitalists in managing market downturns. It suggests that institutional support and mentorship should focus not only on financial runway but also on enhancing the strategic decision-making frameworks of founders to foster long-term economic resilience in the face of local market volatility.

Abstract

East Java is a province with a wide variety of tourist attractions, including natural, cultural, and man-made attractions spread across various regions. However, information about these attractions is still not well-centralized, so tourists often experience difficulties in finding recommendations for tourist attractions that suit their desires. Based on these problems, this study aims to design a website-based information system for recommendations and promotions of tourist attractions in East Java using the User-Centered Design (UCD) method. The UCD method is used because it emphasizes user involvement in the system design process. The research stages include gathering user needs, designing the system according to user needs, and evaluating the design, which is carried out conceptually without an implementation stage. The result of this study is an information system design that is expected to facilitate tourists in obtaining information and recommendations for tourist attractions, while also helping the process of promoting tourist destinations in East Java more effectively.
