Abstract

This study examines the effects of institutional ownership, public ownership, liquidity, debt policy, and exchange rate on dividend policy, and their implications for firm value, with the Bank Indonesia Rate (BI Rate) as a moderating variable. The research focuses on companies in the High Dividend 20 Index listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2017–2022. A quantitative approach using explanatory research was employed, with secondary data obtained from annual financial statements, official IDX publications, and Bank Indonesia. Panel data regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) were used for analysis. Results indicate that institutional ownership, public ownership, liquidity, debt policy, and exchange rate simultaneously have a significant effect on dividend policy. Partially, institutional ownership, public ownership, and liquidity show a significant positive effect, while debt policy and exchange rate show significant negative effects. Dividend policy significantly influences firm value, and the BI Rate acts as a moderating variable that strengthens this relationship.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is investigates common grammatical errors found in English-language service descriptions at Fadhilah Edu Center (FEC) Cibitung. The study focuses on identifying the types of grammatical errors, determining their frequency, and exploring possible factors contributing to their occurrence. This research employed a qualitative case study design using document analysis as the primary method of data collection. The data consisted of English-language service descriptions collected from official and publicly available FEC platforms. The data were analyzed using Error Analysis and classified based on the Surface Strategy Taxonomy proposed by Dulay, Burt, and Krashen, which categorizes errors into omission, addition, misformation, and misordering. The findings identified 112 grammatical errors in the analyzed service descriptions. Among the four categories, misformation was the most frequently occurring error, with 45 errors (40%), followed by omission with 28 errors (25%), misordering with 21 errors (19%), and addition with 18 errors (16%). The findings suggest that the grammatical problems were possibly related to limited grammatical knowledge, first-language influence, limited exposure to formal English writing, and inadequate proofreading and editing practices. However, these factors are considered possible contributing factors rather than confirmed causal factors. The study concludes that grammatical errors in institutional service descriptions can affect the accuracy, clarity, and professionalism of English-language communication. Therefore, FEC is recommended to implement systematic proofreading, grammar review, and standardized English-language guidelines when preparing and publishing its service descriptions. The findings are expected to contribute to the improvement of English-language accuracy in educational service communication and provide practical insights for similar educational institutions

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Task-Based Learning (TBL) approach in improving students’ vocabulary mastery at STT Obaja Jakarta. This research was motivated by the fact that many students at STT Obaja still had limited vocabulary, which hindered their ability to communicate effectively in English, understand reading texts, and participate confidently in classroom activities. This study employed a quantitative research method with a Pre-Experimental Design, specifically the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this study consisted of 64 students of STT Obaja Jakarta, and since the population was relatively small, the Total Sampling (Saturated Sampling) technique was applied, resulting in a total sample of 64 respondents. Data were collected through a vocabulary pretest and posttest and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics. The results showed that the students’ mean vocabulary score increased from 68.33 in the pretest to 77.39 in the posttest, indicating a mean gain of 9.06 points. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test produced significance values of 0.848 (pretest) and 0.299 (posttest), both greater than 0.05, indicating that the data were normally distributed. The homogeneity test showed a significance value of 0.194 (> 0.05), indicating homogeneous variance. The Paired-Samples t-Test showed t(63) = -10.549 with p < 0.001, which is lower than the significance level of 0.05. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H₁) was accepted, indicating a statistically significant difference between students’ vocabulary mastery before and after the treatment. It can be concluded that the Task-Based Learning approach significantly improved students’ vocabulary mastery at STT Obaja Jakarta.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of Task-Based Learning (TBL) in teaching vocabulary to nursing students at SMK Taruma Negara in Bogor. Many students experience difficulties in understanding, remembering, and using English vocabulary related to nursing. Therefore, Task-Based Learning was implemented as a learning approach to improve students’ vocabulary mastery through meaningful and communicative learning activities. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group. The study participants consisted of two classes of nursing students: an experimental class taught using the Task-Based Learning model and a control class taught using conventional teaching methods. The research instrument was a vocabulary test administered as a pre-test and a post-test. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test, Levene’s homogeneity test, and the independent samples t-test with the aid of IBM SPSS Statistics. The results of the study indicate that the data are normally distributed and homogeneous. The independent samples t-test revealed a statistically significant difference between the experimental group and the control group, with a significance level of p < 0.001 (2-tailed Sig. < 0.05), and the t-test results showed a significant difference between the two groups (2-tailed Sig. < 0.001). The calculated t-value was 6.943 with a mean difference of 18.75000. Based on the data analysis, it was found that the mean final test score of students in the experimental class, who received instruction using the Task-Based Learning method, reached 85.60, while the control class, which received conventional instruction, achieved a mean score of 66.85. The results of the homogeneity test (Levene’s test) indicate that the data have homogeneous variances (Sig. = 0.940 > 0.05), and the t-test results show a significant difference between the two groups (two-tailed Sig. < 0.001). The calculated t-value was 6.943 with a mean difference of 18.75000. Thus, the null hypothesis (H₀), which states that there is no significant difference between the post-test scores of the two groups, was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H₁) was accepted. Students in the experimental group showed a greater increase in vocabulary mastery compared to the control group. These results indicate that the implementation of Task-Based Learning has proven effective in enhancing students’ in-depth mastery of nursing-related vocabulary, particularly at SMK Taruma Negara Bogor.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the Bilingual CentreBased Learning Approach in improving the English-speaking skills of kindergarten students at TK Almayra, North Jakarta. The research problem addressed was whether this instructional approach could significantly improve young learners' speaking ability, given the difficulties children face in expressing ideas confidently in English within a bilingual, play-based classroom. This study employed a quantitative preexperimental method with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The sample consisted of all seven (7) students of Kindergarten B (TK B) at TK Almayra in the 2025/2026 academic year, selected through saturated (total) sampling. Students' speaking skill was assessed using five indicators, namely pronunciation, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and confidence, based on an assessment rubric adapted from David P. Harris. The results showed that students' mean speaking score increased from 52.57 in the pre-test to 83.5 in the post-test, indicating a considerable improvement after the implementation of the Bilingual Centre-Based Learning Approach. This finding suggests that the approach had a positive effect on students' ability to pronounce words, use vocabulary, speak fluently, comprehend simple instructions, and communicate with greater confidence. It can be concluded that the Bilingual Centre-Based Learning Approach is effective in improving the speaking skills of kindergarten students, and it is recommended that teachers apply meaningful, centre-based, and play-oriented activities when teaching English to young learners.
