Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing trend of thematic tourism based on artificial attractions, which has developed alongside Generation Z's preference for tourism experiences that are aesthetic, fast, and easily shared through digital media. Kampoeng Eropa Malino was chosen as the study object due to its popularity among young tourists, yet it has never been academically studied regarding how Gen Z forms expectations and preferences towards the attractions offered. This study aims to analyze Gen Z's expectations and preferences regarding visual, thematic, and facility attractions, as well as spatial experiences at the destination. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through the experience stories of three Gen Z informants who had visited more than twice and the researcher's direct observations at the location. The analysis was carried out by categorizing the informants' experiences, comparing them with field conditions, and interpreting them through a framework of push and pull motivations in tourist behavior. The results of the study indicate a gap between Gen Z's visual expectations shaped by digital media and the actual experiences at the location. The Europe theme was considered not immersive, the variety of photo spots was limited, and facilities, including culinary options and accessibility, were deemed insufficient to meet the needs of young tourists. These findings suggest that Gen Z's internal motivations do not result in satisfaction when external attractions do not meet their aesthetic and comfort standards. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on medium-scale artificial thematic destinations and how Gen Z interprets visually and thematically based tourism experiences.

Abstract

This study is grounded in consumer protection theory and the concept of asymmetric information in digital transactions, which explain the imbalance of information and bargaining power between business actors and consumers in electronic commerce. The research aims to analyze consumer protection in live shopping transactions of thrift products on TikTok, identify potential risks and violations of consumer rights, and examine business actors’ legal responsibility and dispute resolution mechanisms under Indonesian law. This study employs a normative juridical approach through library research and document analysis of primary legal materials, including the Consumer Protection Law, the Electronic Information and Transactions Law, and regulations on electronic commerce, supported by relevant scholarly literature. Data were analyzed using qualitative normative analysis by interpreting legal provisions and relating them to the characteristics of live shopping practices. The results show that although the legal framework is comprehensive, the real-time and persuasive nature of live shopping increases the risk of information asymmetry, product misrepresentation, unilateral no-refund policies, and evidentiary difficulties. The novelty of this research lies in its specific focus on live shopping thrift transactions as a digital trade model that heightens consumer vulnerability.

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of financial literacy, digital financial literacy, financial attitudes, and hedonistic lifestyles on financial behavior with self-efficacy and locus of control as mediating variables. The study used qualitative approach with survey design involving 200 students at State University of Makassar. Data was analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicated that financial literacy, digital financial literacy, and hedonistic lifestyle significantly influence to self-efficacy. In contrast, financial attitude does not have a statistically significant effect on self-efficacy. Furthermore, financial literacy, digital financial literacy, and financial attitude significantly influence to locus of control, while hedonistic lifestyle does not exert a meaningful influence on this construct. Concerning financial behavior, both of financial literacy and financial attitude show significant direct effect, whereas digital financial literacy and hedonistic lifestyle do not exhibit significant direct relationships. In addition, self-efficacy has a significant effect on financial behavior, while locus of control does not significantly predict this outcome. The mediation analysis indicates that only hedonistic lifestyle has a significant indirect effect on financial behavior through self-efficacy, whereas other indirect effect through self-efficacy and locus of control are not statistically significant. These findings suggest that self-efficacy functions as a more salient psychological mechanism than locus of control in connecting cognitive determinants and lifestyle orientation to financial behavior. This study's will contribute to the theoretical literature by clarifying the differential role of self-efficacy and locus of control. It offers practical implications, emphasizing that improving students’ financial behavior requires strengthening their confidence in financial decision-making and enhancing financial literacy.
