Abstract

Sparkol VideoScribe is a cloud-based software that enables teachers to easily create animated videos, providing flexibility in designing learning materials tailored to students' needs. This research aims to examine the effectiveness of Sparkol VideoScribe as a learning media in enhancing Arabic vocabulary for elementary school students at the Islamic Center in Samarinda. The research method employed in this study is a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design approach. The research sample consisted of 39 students, with 20 students in the experimental group (class 5 ASK) and 19 students in the control group (class 5 AA). Research instruments included tests, observations, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used in this study involved the independent sample t-test and N-Gain test. The results revealed that the post-test scores for the experimental group increased by 27 points from the pre-test score of 55.80 to 82.80. Furthermore, the independent sample t-test resulted in a Sig. 2-tailed value of 0.001 < 0.05, leading to the conclusion that Ha is accepted, and H0 is rejected. The N-Gain value for the experimental group was 0.6145, suggesting that the effectiveness of Sparkol VideoScribe as a learning media in improving Arabic vocabulary for elementary school students at the Islamic Center in Samarinda falls within the category of moderate effectiveness."

Abstract

The translation is the key to accessing the information exchange. Language learners have traditionally relied on dictionaries to understand the meanings of foreign vocabulary in the target language. But now foreign language learners have access to a wide selection of Free Online Resources for Translators (FORT), including machine translation (MT) sites and apps, for example, Google Translate (GT). Therefore, the researcher wants to find out the English students’ perception of GT in helping English students. The researcher wants to conduct the experience of English Education Department students at UINSI Samarinda. The researcher used a mix method research design. The subject of this research was the sixth-semester students of the English education department at UINSI Samarinda. The data were gotten from questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The findings of this research that students know regarding GT as an MT to translate from one language to another. Students know how to use the GT application correctly by entering the vocabulary they want to translate and then translating manually with considerations regarding grammar, word choice, and so on. Students feel GT is very useful and happy because GT is very helpful, faster, and saves more time. Students consider to translate and use GT to learn pronunciation and add vocabulary or synonyms. Also, translate text from images easily. It showed GT has many advantages in students’ class activities. Despite that, there were also some disadvantages, such as inaccurate translation, lack of grammar, and lack of internet access.

Abstract

لسان العرب للإبن منظور هو قاموس اللغة العربية الشهير والمؤثر. تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل أساليب إعداد هذا القاموس. على الرغم من استخدامه على مر العصور، إلا أن أساليب تجميعه لا تزال تتطلب دراسة عميقة. تتضمن البحث تحليل المصادر وعمليات جمع الكلمات وتنظيمها وكيفية التعامل مع النواقص في القاموس. ستوفر هذه الدراسة فهمًا أعمق للدور الهام الذي يلعبه القاموس في فهم اللغة والأدب العربي الكلاسيكي. تركز هذه الدراسة على أساليب إعداد قاموس"لسان العرب "لإبن منظور. باستخدام البحث النوعي، سيتم إجراء دراسة أدبية لفهم خلفية القاموس. سيتضمن التحليل النصي العميق فهم الهيكل والمحتوى في القاموس. كما سيشمل البحث تحليل السياق التاريخي لفهم تأثير التاريخ في إعداد القاموس. قد تزيد التثليث لضمان صحة البيانات. ستوفر هذه الدراسة فهمًا أعمق لأساليب إبن منظور في فهم اللغة العربية والثقافة العربية. إبن منظور في قاموس"لسان العرب "ينظم الكلمات حسب الترتيب الأبجدي. اعتمد منهج الجوهري في تقسيم الكلمات إلى أبواب وفصول، متصلة الحرف الأخير والأول من الكلمة بالباب والفصل وفقًا لترتيب الأبجدية. القاموس يتألف من 28 بابًا، تتوافق مع أحرف اللغة العربية المعروفة. إنه قاموس ضخم يحتوي على مراجع من القرآن والحديث، ويعد مرجعًا أساسيًا في دراسة اللغة العربية."مجموع لسان العرب" لإبن منظور هو كنز لعلم اللغة العربية، يتضمن تعاريف الكلمات وآيات من القرآن الكريم وأحاديث نبوية وثقافة عربية. استخدام هذا القاموس يتطلب فهمًا لأساليبه، والتي تختلف عن القواميس العامة. يحتوي القاموس على شرح للكلمات وأمثلة على استخدامها في الجمل. "لسان العرب" هو مرجع هام لمتعلمي اللغة العربية. تشير الأبحاث إلى أن هذا القاموس يجمع بين أفضل ما في القواميس السابقة وله تأثير كبير على دراسة اللغة العربية والأدب. يمكن توسيع الوصول إلى هذا التراث من خلال الترجمة واستخدام التقنيات الحديثة.

Abstract

Students' interest in learning is still a problem that is often faced in learning Arabic, including in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Kutai Barat. To overcome this, the researcher offers the use of Instagram video media as a learning media in increasing students' interest in learning. This study aims to determine whether the use of Instagram videos is effective in increasing students' interest in learning Arabic at MAN Kutai Barat. This research is a quantitative research, with the type of research Quasi Experimental Type Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study were all students of MAN Kutai Barat using purposive sampling, the samples of this study were X IIS class totaling 23 students as the control group and X MIA class totaling 22 students as the experimental group. The instruments of this research are questionnaires and observation sheets. The results showed that the paired sample t-test results obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05, this indicates that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on the calculation of the tcount, the tcount value of the experimental class and control class is 10.799> 3.024 or the experimental class tcount value> control class tcount. And based on the results of the N-Gain calculation, it can be seen that the average N-Gain score in the experimental class is 0.53 which is included in the moderate category with a minimum N-Gain score of 0.29 and a maximum of 0.89. Based on this description, it can be concluded that the use of Instagram videos is effective in the medium category in increasing students' interest in learning Arabic at MAN Kutai Barat.

Abstract

The implication of the Muhawarah Method on the Speaking Skills of Arabic Language Education Students at Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris State Islamic University Samarinda is a deep discussion. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to see the extent of the influence of the muhawarah method on student speaking skills. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with a sampling technique, namely saturated samples, using research instruments, namely questionnaires, interviews, and documentation, where the entire population is sampled as many as 28 students of the Arabic Language Education study program 1 class of 2020 who study using the Muhawarah Method. The results showed that learning Maharah Al-Kalam by applying the Muhawarah Method went well, attracted students' enthusiasm in learning, and was not so difficult to follow.  Based on the results of the T test, the value of t_hitung is 9.648> t_table with a level of 0.025 (2.056). So the decision in this study Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. So it is concluded that there is an influence on the Muhawarah Method on Maharah Al-Kalam for PBA students in the Class of 2020 UINSI Samarinda. And based on the results of the coefficient of determination test, the result obtained is 0.782, which means that the effect of the Muhawarah Method on Maharah Al-Kalam is 78.2%.

Abstract

This research investigates the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) with the principle of differentiation in Arabic language learning at SMP Al-Madina Wonosobo. The research method used is a quasi-qualitative field study. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that teachers at SMP Al-Madina have successfully implemented PjBL by considering the language proficiency levels of students and incorporating cultural elements into projects. Structured teaching steps, adaptation of projects to students' language proficiency levels, use of relevant resources, and ongoing support for language development are key features of PjBL implementation. These findings indicate that the PjBL approach with differentiation can be an effective learning method in improving students' Arabic language skills while promoting understanding and appreciation of Arab culture. This research provides an important contribution to the development of Arabic language curriculum and project-based learning at the secondary school level.

Abstract

This research reveals a new and revolutionary way to learn Arabic autodidactically using the Mondly application. Despite its reputation as one of the most challenging languages in the world, this app promises to be a fun and effective way to learn. The main goal of this research is to evaluate how effective Mondly is in facilitating independent learning of Arabic and identify key factors that support user success. By analyzing real-life experiences from users, this research provides deep insight into the role of technology in changing the way we learn languages in the digital age. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach which aims to introduce the Mondly application to the public and investigate more deeply and explain how the use of the features in it can support self-taught Arabic language learning. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and direct observation of application users. The data analysis technique used is thematic analysis, which allows researchers to identify important patterns and main themes from user experiences. The main goal of this research is to evaluate how effective Mondly is in facilitating independent learning of Arabic and identify key factors that support user success. By analyzing real-life experiences from users, this research provides deep insight into the role of technology in changing the way we learn languages in the digital age.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to assess the effectiveness of the Mubasyarah method in enhancing the Arabic language proficiency among seventh-grade students at Harsalakum Bengkulu Secondary School. The research employs a quasi-experimental quantitative approach. The target population consists of seventh-grade students at Harsalkam Bengkulu Secondary School, with cluster sampling used to select two groups: Class V-A (25 students) as the experimental group and Class VC-C (26 students) as the control group. Data collection involves pretest, treatment, and posttest phases. Analysis techniques include normality tests, homogeneity tests, and t-tests. Data analysis is conducted using SPSS version 26, and the t-test results show a significance value of  0.000, which is less than the threshold of 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). Thus, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Consequently, it can be concluded that the Mubasyarah method effectively enhances the language fluency of seventh-grade students at Harsalakum Bengkulu Secondary School.

Abstract

Vocabulary is one of the aspects of language that has to be learned because it is important for daily activities and the classroom teaching and learning process, particularly in English classes. Despite this, many students may still struggle to learn a new word in English. The teacher must be more creative and innovative in implementing methods to make students feel comfortable learning English because there are many factors that must be achieved and it requires more concentration to master it. The approach employed in this research was quantitative, using a quasi-experimental design to compare two classes. The fourth graders in SDN 017 Marangkayu served as the samples. Class IV (A) and IV (B) were the samples of this research, with 14 students in the experimental class and 14 in the control class. Multiple-choice examinations served as the research instrument. The researcher utilized the SPSS version 21 program and the independent sample t-test formula to evaluate the data. This research used observation and documentation data collection techniques that have been tested for validity and reliability, and the data has met the requirements for normality and homogeneity. The researcher concluded that Total Physical Response (TPR) using storytelling was effective to improve student’s achievement in learning new vocabulary. The result of the data was obtained by giving pre-test and post-test to both groups, and the 2-tailed significance value was obtained at 0,08 < 0,05, which means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So, this research shows that TPR using storytelling has a significant effect on teaching vocabulary to students.

Abstract

Arabic language learning at Madrasah Aliyah Darul Ihsan Samarinda has been tried as well as possible by the teacher, but there are still many problems in Arabic language learning, especially in speaking skills on the part of students. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find out what are the problems that occur in learning Arabic, especially in speaking skills and how to solve them. This research is a qualitative research, with the type of descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation, data validity is done by triangulating sources and methods, then data analysis techniques using miles and huberman interactive analysis. Based on the results of the research that has been obtained, it shows that the problems in learning speaking skills include: the background of students who are mostly from public schools, the lack of memorization of mufrodat of students, little time to learn Arabic, and the absence of Arabic language environment. While efforts to overcome problems include: teachers provide motivation and enthusiasm in learning Arabic, require memorization of vocabulary so that vocabulary vocabulary is a lot, maximize Arabic learning time, and create a small Arabic language environment.
