Abstract

Mapping student talents is an important step in supporting the development of potential and early career planning. However, conventional approaches such as written tests and manual observations are often considered inefficient and less engaging for students. This community service activity introduces an innovation in the form of an interactive platform specifically designed to map student talents in a more dynamic and enjoyable way. The platform combines educational elements with digital interaction, where students engage in a series of activities such as adaptive quizzes, case study simulations, and interest-based challenges. The data obtained in real-time is then analyzed to generate student potential profiles based on interests, cognitive tendencies, and learning styles. The results of implementation by a lecturer from another university who has applied one of these interactive platforms show that using such a platform increases student participation and provides a more accurate depiction of student talents compared to traditional methods. This innovation is expected to become an effective digital solution for schools in conducting continuous, data-driven assessments of student potential.

Abstract

The documentary film “Apocalyptic Tides” is an audiovisual work that explores the phenomenon of ocean-borne waste in coastal areas. The writer acts as the scriptwriter, focusing on the development of an expository narrative as the foundational structure for both the storyline and the creative aspects of the film. The narrative employs a three-act structure with a suggestive storytelling approach, utilizing various rhetorical devices to evoke a strong emotional response from the audience. An expository narrative method is used to convey factual information clearly and thoroughly, structured through an introduction of the issue via observational visuals and voice-over, a depiction of the ecological conflict caused by ocean-borne waste, and a resolution that reveals deeper insights into the underlying problem. The result demonstrates that the use of an expository narrative can effectively build public awareness of the ecological crisis caused by waste accumulation, particularly during the monsoon season. This film serves not only as an informative medium but also as a communicative tool that evokes empathy toward coastal ecosystem degradation.

Abstract

Pregnancy in the second and third trimesters is often accompanied by physical and psychological complaints such as back pain, difficulty sleeping, and anxiety about childbirth. One non-pharmacological method that can help reduce these complaints is yoga. However, a preliminary survey in Pliken Village showed that most pregnant women did not have sufficient knowledge about yoga and had never received any education on the subject. The objective of this Community Service activity is to enhance the knowledge and skills of pregnant women in the second and third trimesters through education and hands-on yoga practice as part of preparing for a safe and comfortable childbirth. The methods used include education through lectures, leaflets, and visual media, as well as guided yoga practice led by practitioners. Evaluation was conducted using pre-test, post-test, and yoga exercise SOP checklist instruments. The number of participants was 24 pregnant women. The results showed a significant improvement, where before education, 88% of participants were in the adequate knowledge category, while after education, 83% of participants were in the good knowledge category. Most participants were also able to practice yoga independently and showed enthusiasm in participating in the activities. In conclusion, education and yoga practice have been proven to improve the knowledge and skills of pregnant women in the second and third trimesters. This activity can be integrated into the routine program of prenatal classes as a promotive and preventive effort in preparing for a healthy and safe delivery. The outcomes of this Community Service Program include Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and journal publications on Community Service.
