Abstract

Learning in the 21st century integrates various technological devices in carrying out a whole series of interaction processes between students and teachers with learning resources in a learning environment. Pre-service English teachers in 21st century must have knowledge as well as skills in using various technologies, both traditional and modern to facilitate learning and improve learning outcomes. This article aims to examine, explain and review the development of technological pedagogical and content knowledge (TPACK) for Pre-service English teachers in 21st century, in order to obtain an overview of the opportunities and challenges in implementing TPACK itself in the 21st Century Learning. This article using a systematic review method of books, journal articles, and other documents related to the topic of discussion. All sources were selected based on the publication year that was set, namely 2017-2022 so that accurate and up-to-date data could be obtained. The results of the study found that, TPACK is a new type of knowledge that must be mastered by pre-service English teachers to be able to integrate technology well in learning. TPACK can be used as a framework for designing teacher education curricula that are more in line with the era and demands of 21st century learning

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect size of the project-based learning model on the critical thinking skills of civil engineering study program students. This type of research is a meta-analysis. Data sources come from 9 national and international journals published from 2013-2023. Search for data sources through the google scholar database, ProQuest, Eric, and Plos ONE. Data collection techniques are direct observation and documentation. The data analysis technique is a quantitative analysis technique by calculating the effect size (ES) value and the average value (mean). These results explain the average value of Effect Size (ES = 0.970) and the mean value of 80.72. This finding shows that there is a significant effect of the project-based learning model on the creative thinking skills of civil engineering study program students compared to conventional learning models.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of numeracy literacy-based learning on students' creative thinking abilities and mathematical communication. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a nonequivalent control group design. The research population consisted of all fourth grade students in the cluster I area of ​​Somba Opu District, Gowa Regency with a total of 340 students. Through cluster random sampling, 46 students from SD Negeri Sungguminasa IV were selected as research samples. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and tests. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistical analysis techniques and inferential statistics consisting of independent sample t tests and multivariate tests. The results showed that numeracy literacy-based learning had an effect on the ability to think creatively and mathematically communicate in class IV students at SD Negeri Sungguminasa IV, Gowa Regency.

Abstract

understanding of children aged 5-6 years in kindergarten in Gowa Regency. This study used purposive sampling method with a sample of 60 children. 30 children from Nurul Fadhilah Kindergarten as the experimental group and 30 children from Pertiwi Tamarunang Kindergarten as the control group. The data analysis method in this research is prerequisite test and independent sample t-test. From the results of the t-test based on the assumption of equal variance, there is a difference in the level of sexual understanding of 5 to 6 year olds in the experimental group that is treated and the control group and not treated. The research hypothesis states that there is an effect of animated videos in stimulating the sexual understanding of children aged 6 to 6 years in kindergarten in Gowa Regency which can be proven from the results of the independent sample t-test. If there is a difference in the average sexual understanding of children in Nurul Fadhilah Kindergarten and Pertiwi Tamarunang Kindergarten, then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted.

Abstract

A comprehensive review of Means Ends Analysis (MEA) impact on mathematical problem-solving skills has not been studied extensively, As a result, few teachers are aware of the benefits that this approach has for children. This meta-analysis study was conducted to assess the overall impact of teaching students to solve mathematical problems using the MEA approach. Empirical information was obtained from URL links, Semantic Scholar, and Google Scholar. The search produced 18 articles that were written between 2009 and 2023. 18 items were eligible for analysis because they met the inclusion criteria. In the analysis tool, a random estimation model and Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) software are both utilized. The outcomes showed that the overall effect size of the study was 0.920. These results imply that the use of the MEA has a significant impact on students' mathematical problem-solving skills. After examining the moderator variables, it was found that the MEA model was successful when considering student sample sizes, but not when considering the educational level and demographics of the students. The application of MEA in enhancing students' mathematical problem-solving should be employed more frequently, particularly in elementary schools, according to this meta-analysis study's advice to Indonesian math teachers.

Abstract

The principal is a leader in the school, the principal is very influential in developing religious culture in the school environment. There are many religious cultures that must be developed, especially in terms of the effectiveness and efficiency of fostering religious culture in schools and society. Therefore the principal seeks to develop a religious culture in school by increasing the religious atmosphere so that students are accustomed to behaving in accordance with Islamic values. Abstract

Cow dung, as an abundant organic waste in the livestock sector, has gained attention as an alternative raw material source for the paper industry. This study aims to explore the potential and environmental benefits of utilizing cow dung in paper production. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method in which the author describes phenomenon and situation deep down. The study utilizes a scientific and technological approach with experimental analysis methods to identify the composition of cow dung and evaluate its potential as a raw material in the paper industry. Findings from this research reveal that cow dung contains a significant amount of coarse fibers and organic matter, which can be utilized as a primary component in paper manufacturing. The coarse fibers present in cow dung can be processed into pulp through appropriate chemical or mechanical treatments. Apart from serving as a fiber source, the utilization of cow dung in the paper industry has positive environmental impacts. The use of cow dung as a raw material for paper production can reduce the amount of waste disposed into the environment, thereby helping to mitigate soil and water pollution. Additionally, this approach can also reduce the paper industry's reliance on limited natural resources, such as wood.

Abstract

The utilization of technology in education involves the use of tools and technological applications to enhance the teaching and learning process. In this context, Quizizz serves as a relevant application that enables teachers to motivate students through various types of questions and good competitive elements. This includes measuring students’ comprehension, providing instant feedback, reinforcing material understanding, and monitoring students learning progress, resulting in improved learning outcomes. This research aims to determine the improvement of students learning outcomes in English language classes, especially in reading, by implementing the Quizizz application. The samples are used by students from the even semester of the academic year 2023/2024 in Muhammadiyah University of Parepare, focusing on second-semester students. The research uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. Data was collected through tests and observations from June 2023 to July 2023. The results of this study indicate an improvement in learning outcomes, with an average learning outcome increase of 38% in cycle I and in cycle II by 78%.

Abstract

The ability to read and write the Qur'an for students at school is the shared responsibility of teachers who are Muslim, but Islamic religion teachers have a very large role because they are considered to have been equipped from college the ability to read, write, and understand the Qur'an properly. In addition, there are several learning materials that require students to be able to recognize hijaiyah letters, write hijaiyah letters, connect hijaiyah letters, and be able to read the Qur'an. Qur'anic literacy learning in schools is limited, therefore this study aims to find out what efforts are made by PAI teachers to improve the literacy of the Qur'an of Grade I and II Students of SD Negeri 82 Parepare City. The research was conducted using a qualitative method with a field research approach, where the research data was collected through interview techniques together with Islamic religion teachers and Principals. Data collection was also carried out through observation techniques of Al-Qur'an literacy learning activities taking place at school and identifying lesson plans and media used in Al-Qur'an literacy. The results showed that the efforts made by Islamic religion teachers in improving the Qur'an literacy skills of students in grades I and II are apperception activities utilized for a maximum of 10 minutes, every Friday for 1 hour of lessons, flash pesantren activities in the month of Ramadan for 1 week, and the introduction of letters.

Abstract

Bentuk interaksi antara guru dan siswa tergolong interaksi kelompok dengan individu, interaksi ini digambarkan oleh siswa sebagai kelompok dengan individu, artinya seorang guru melakukan kegiatan meminta dan memberi pendapat sehingga memungkinkan interaksi berjalan dengan baik di lingkungan sekolah dan proses kegiatan belajar, yang akan menimbulkan respon dari siswa. Respon adalah umpan balik yang diterima siswa atas pembelajaran yang telah mereka pelajari. Masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu sulitnya respon siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif, teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah observasi dan wawancara dan dari hasil wawancara tersebut peneliti menganalisis data dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon siswa dan untuk menjelaskan faktor penyebab kesulitan respon siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dalam meminta dan memberikan pendapat di kelas delapan UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli. Jumlah subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 32 siswa dari kelas VIII-D. Berdasarkan hasil, dimana beberapa siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami, menerjemahkan, mengemukakan pendapat atau ide dalam bahasa Inggris. Faktor penyebab respon siswa sulit adalah penggunaan metode yang monoton atau ceramah yang mengakibatkan siswa kurang aktif, kurangnya kosa kata sehingga siswa kesulitan menyusun kalimat dan mengungkapkannya dalam bahasa Inggris, kurang percaya diri. Akhirnya berdasarkan hasil tersebut, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli rendah sehingga harus ditingkatkan lagi terutama dalam menanggapi pertanyaan atau memberikan pendapat dari guru dimana siswa harus menjawab dengan menggunakan Bahasa Inggris.
