Abstract

Reflective thinking in solving mathematical problems allows students to carry out a reinterpretation process in which cognitive activity involves analytical and decision-making activities on what has been done before. Thus students can realize and think about what he has done and use these skills in subsequent problem-solving. The purpose of this study was to identify the depth of reflective thinking of prospective teachers in solving mathematical problems in terms of differences in cognitive styles. To identify the depth of reflective thinking in problem-solving, using the taxonomic level of reflective thinking consists of six levels, namely (1) remembering, (2) understanding, (3) applying, (4) analyzing, (5) evaluating and (6) creating. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach involving two prospective mathematics teacher students who have a field-dependent cognitive style (SFD) and an independent field (SFI). The results showed that SFD could only reach at three levels, namely remembering, understanding, and applying. While SFI fulfilled the six characteristics of the taxonomic level of reflective thinking, namely remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the students? scientific attitude between students who followed science learning by applying the society technology science approach and conventional learning approach. This type of research included quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent post-test only control group design. In this research paper involved 52 students of 5th grade of SD Inpres Andi Tonro in the academic year 2018/2019. Sample were chosen by using technic of simple random sampling and determination of the sample is based on the use of the formula Slovin. Data on scientific attitudes of students were collected by questionnaire. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis techniques (separated variance t-test). The results of this study described that the students? scientific attitude of the experimental class (using the society technology science approach) with an average score of 123.00 is classified as a very high category while the students? scientific attitude of the control class (conventional learning approach) with an average score of 108.73 is classified as high category. There was significant difference in students' scientific attitudes in the group of students who learned using society technology science approach compared to the group of students who learned using the conventional learning.

Abstract

Penelitianinimengkajikonsep-konsepgeometriukiranToraja yang terdapat padabangunanadatTorajayaitu lumbung. Penelitianinimerupakanpenelitiankualitatifdenganpendekatanetnografi, dimanateknikdalampengumpulan data akandilakukandengancaraobservasi, wawancara, catatanlapangan, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan, ukiran yang terdapat pada lumbung mempunyainilaiseni yang tinggi yang memuatkonsepgeometri. Konsepgeometriyang terdapat pada ukiranlumbung (alang)diantaranyaadalah garis sejajar, garis lengkung,segitiga, persegi, persegipanjang,belah ketupatlingkaran, sudut, dan simetrilipat. Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the influence of mathematical communication skills on students’ learning outcomes, (2) the influence of logical thinking on students’ learning outcomes, (3) the influence of mathematical communication skills and logical thinking on learning outcomes. This research was a correlational expost-facto study. The sample of this study were 160 students of grade V elementary school students in Sombaopu, Gowa in the academic year of 2017/2018, who were obtained through proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data collection was done by providing tests of mathematical communication skills, tests of logical thinking and tests of student learning outcomes. The analysis technique used is descriptive statistics by finding the maximum, minimum, mean, and standard deviation values. The results of this study indicate: (1) there is a significant influence between mathematical communication skills and students’ learning outcomes. (2) there is a significant influence between logical thinking and students’ learning outcomes. (3) there is a significant influence between mathematical communication skills and logical thinking with students’ learning outcomes

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the influence of the Realistic Mathematical Education (RME) approach assisted by animation media on mathematics learning outcomes of fourth grade elementary school students, Manggala District, Makassar in academic year of 2020/2021. This study was a quantitative research by using a quasi-experimental research design with a non-equivalent control group design. There were 30 students involved as the research sample with a simple random sampling technique (Simple Random Sampling). The data were collected using observation and written tests by giving five essay questions with different points for each question. This research was conducted by giving a pretest as a result of initial learning before being given treatment and by giving a post-test as a result of the given treatment at the end of the meeting. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS v.22 application by looking for the results of the normality test, homogeneity test, N-Gain test and finally the paired sample t-test (Paired Sample Test) to test the hypothesis.The students’ average score before applying Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach assisted by animation media it was 69.67 included in the less category. After applying Realistic Mathematical Education (RME) assisted by animation media, the results showed that there was a difference in the students' average scores. By applying the Realistic Mathematical Education (RME) approach assisted by animation media, the students’ average score, the students obtained an average score of 74.60 included in the medium category. This can be proven in the t-test output and it was known that the tcount = 7,170 with Sig(2-tailed) = 0.000 and the ttable = 2.05 then tcount = 7,170 > ttable = 2.05 while the significance value was 0.000 <0.05, meaning H1 was accepted and H0 rejected.

Abstract

The implementation of the supervision of the principal so far has not been running as it should, even though this is an essential thing to increase teacher competence. This study aims to improve the quality of learning by implementing clinical supervision of the learning process carried out by elementary school teachers. This type of research is a school action research that aims to improve the situation or make school innovations to improve the quality of learning to produce students who think critically, creatively, innovatively, proficiently in solving problems. The design of this clinical supervision model consists of several stages, namely the meeting stage, the observation stage, and the feedback meeting stage. The subjects in this study were 12 school teachers. It collects data using observation techniques using observation sheets developed based on the clinical supervision model. From the results of the clinical supervision observation data analysis, it can be seen that the learning scores in the first cycle have increased in the second cycle. The average score in the first cycle is 70.00. Meanwhile, the average score in the second cycle increased by 95.00. The process of implementing the application of clinical supervision research instruments, observing the learning process, and conducting learning assessments. The analysis of the meeting stage was carried out to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the teacher in the learning process. Based on the results and research findings, it can be said that clinical supervision carried out in schools can improve the quality of teacher learning in terms of developing learning tools, implementing learning, and learning reflection.

Abstract

Students need to be equipped reflective thinking skill in solving mathematics problem. To achieve it, teaching material such as problem solving-based worksheet in mathematics learning is needed. Therefore, this study aims to increase student’s reflective thinking skill by using problem solving-based worksheet. This research involved 35 fifth grade elementary school students in Pangkep, Makassar. The research design used was pre-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. Data were collected through tests of reflective thinking skill and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that the students' pretest mean score is 54.30. While the student’s posttest mean score is 81.30. The result of the calculation of the gain index was 0.59 which is in the medium category. This indicates that there was an increase in the score of students' reflective thinking skill. The t-test results obtained by the t-value of 11.58 > t-table of 2.03 with a significant value of 0.000 <0.05. This explains that there was a difference in the mean score before and after using problem solving-based worksheet in learning mathematics. This study concluded that using problem solving-based worksheets can foster students' reflective thinking skill.

Abstract

Abstrak:Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model explicit instruction terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi bilangan Romawi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pra-eksperimen dengan melibatkan 28 siswa kelas IV sebagai sampel di SD Inpres Kapasa. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah one-group pretest-posttest design. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh gambaran bahwa: (1) sebelum penerapan model explicit instruction, skor rata-rata hasil belajar siswa yaitu 55,32 yang tergolong kategori rendah, sementara setelah penerapan model explicit instruction skor rata-rata hasil belajar siswa mencapai 83,29 yang tergolong ketegori tinggi; (2) persentase ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa mencapai 92,86% yang memenuhi kriteria ketuntasan hasil belajar secara klasikal; (3) hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh thitung > ttabel (4,931>1,703) sehingga Ha (Ha: µ1 < µ2) diterima; (4) diperoleh peningkatan nilai pretest dan posttest dengan indeks gain (d) sebesar 0.62601 yang berada kategori sedang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model explicit intruction dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi bilangan Romawi kelas IV SD Inpres Kapasa. Dengan demikian, model explicit instruction merupakan alternatif perbaikan pembelajaran dimana materi bilangan Romawi diajarkan secara tersruktur dan siswa diberi penguatan agar pengetahuan mereka mengendap dan bertahan lama dalam memori. Abstract:The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of implementing the explicit instruction model towards students’ learning outcomes through Roman numeral material. This research was a pre-experimental study involving 28 fourth grade students as a sample in SD Inpres Kapasa. The research design used in this study was one-group pretest-posttest design involving one experimental class which began with a pretest before being given treatment and posttest after being given treatment. Based on the results of the data analysis, it was obtained an illustration that: (1) before the implementation of the explicit instruction model, the average score of student’s learning outcomes is 55.32 which was classified as low, while after the application of the explicit instruction model the student’s learning outcomes score reaches 83.29 which was classified as high category; (2) the percentage of completeness of student learning outcomes reaches 92.86% which met the criteria for completeness of learning outcomes in a classical; (3) based on the results of the hypothesis test obtained tcount> ttable (4.931> 1.703) so that Ha (Ha: µ1 <µ2) was accepted; (4) obtained an enhancement in the value of the pretest and posttest with the index gain (d) of 0.62601 which was in the medium category. Based on the results of the study concluded that the implementation of the model of explicit instruction can improve learning outcomes of students in the material of Roman numerals in IV grade. Thus, the explicit instruction model is an alternative learning improvement where the material of Roman numbers was taught structurally and students ware given reinforcement so that their knowledge settles and lasts long in memory.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pra-eksperimen yang melibatkan satu kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain eksperimen “One- Group Pretest-Postest Design” yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan pembelajaran matematika melalui media education game maju mundur cantik (cari dan tebak instruksi) pada siswa kelas VII SMP Unismuh Makassar dengan sampel 20 orang siswa. Data dikumpul dengan menggunakan beberapa instrumen peneltian yaitu tes hasil belajar, aktivitas siswa, angket respon siswa, dan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Selanjutnya data yang terkumpul telah dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statistik inferensial. Dari analisis statistik yang dilakukan diproleh beberapa hasil yaitu, (1) skor rata-rata hasil belajar siswa (pre-test) adalah 30,2 dan skor rata-rata hasil belajar siswa (post-test) adalah 86,7. Skor tersebut juga sudah mencapai ketuntasan secara klasikal. Oleh karena 95% dari 20 siswa ,yaitu 19 orang yang tuntas dalam pembelajaran matematika. Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dari pre-test ke post-test (gain ternormalisasi) mencapai 45% dianataranya mengalami peningkatan sedang dan 50% kategori tinggi. (2) Persentasi rata-rata skor penilaian tentang aktivitas siswa adalah 80,83% .(3) Persentasi yang menjawab respon positif adalah 90%. (4) skor rata-rata keterlaksnaan pembelajaran adalah 3,24. Sementara, dari analisis statistik inferensial diproleh data hasil belajar matematika siswa baik pre-test maupun pots-test dalam kategori normal karena nilai Pvalue . Uji hipotesis yang dilakukan menyatakan bahwa (1) nilai Pvalue adalah 0,000 artinya skor rata-rata hasil belajar siswa setelah diajar melalui penggunaan media education game maju mundur cantik lebih dari 74,9 sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1  diterima yakni rata-rata hasil belajar postest lebih dari KKM. (2) Nilai Pvalueadalah 0,000 artinya rata-rata gain ternormalisasi pada siswa kelas VII B.1 SMP Unismuh Makassar lebih dari 0,3, Sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima yakni gain ternormalisasi hasil belajar siswa berada pada kategori tinggi. (3) Nilai Z  Z(0,5 – α ) yaitu 2,08  artinya ketuntasan belajar matematika siswa setelah diajar melalui penggunaan media education game maju mundur cantik secara klasikal mencapai 79,9%, yakni 95%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa media education game maju mundur cantik efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika pada siswa kelas VII SMP Unismuh Makassar.
