Abstract

Improper waste management, including open burning and dumping waste into rivers, remains an environmental issue in rural areas, including RT 7, Karangjoho Village. Based on interviews with the RT 7 head, most residents still dispose of waste directly into the river in front of Watu Lintang Field, while organic waste and twigs are commonly burned openly, producing thick smoke and incomplete combustion. This activity aimed to implement a Rocket Stove as an appropriate technology for more efficient and low-smoke household waste management while reducing the habit of dumping waste into the river. The activity consisted of observation and problem identification, interviews, planning and permitting, procurement of tools and materials, fabrication and installation, community outreach, combustion testing, and evaluation. The results showed that the Rocket Stove functioned effectively, producing more complete, rapid, and efficient combustion at high temperatures with less smoke than open burning. The stove measured 100–130 cm in length, 80–100 cm in width, with a combustion chamber approximately 100 cm high and a chimney 2–3 meters high. The community responded positively to its implementation. The activity concluded that the Rocket Stove is a practical appropriate technology for supporting village-level waste management, with its sustainability depending on proper maintenance and active community and Karang Taruna involvement.

Abstract

The implementation of the Core Tax Administration System (Coretax) has transformed tax administration and reporting mechanisms, requiring taxpayers to strengthen their digital capabilities. An initial assessment of 50 financial staff members at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) identified difficulties in tax reporting. This community service program aimed to improve employees’ literacy and skills in completing and reporting Individual Annual Tax Returns through Coretax while establishing a sustainable assistance mechanism within UNY. The program employed a participatory capacity-building approach and problem-based training through needs identification, initial literacy mapping, socialization, practical training, assistance through the Tax Clinic, evaluation, and institutional capacity strengthening. Assistance was supported by Coretax digital modules, tutorial videos, and self-verification checklists. The results showed that reporting difficulties were related not only to conceptual understanding of taxation but also to procedural skills in using the digital system. A combination of socialization, case-based practice, and individual assistance helped participants understand reporting procedures and resolve technical difficulties. The developed learning media supported independent learning, while strengthening internal tax volunteers and developing standard operating procedures aimed to establish institutional assistance. The program demonstrates that digital tax administration transformation requires stronger tax literacy, digital literacy, and procedural capacity to promote employee independence and sustainable internal support.

Abstract

Inadequate care after circumcision care may increase the risk of complications and infection in children. This community service activity aimed to provide education to parents regarding wound care and medication administration following circumcision in Cipare District. The activity involved 40 children aged 3–8 years who had undergone circumcision, accompanied by their parents or caregivers. Some participants had medical conditions, including phimosis, balanitis, and a history of urinary tract infections. Individual education was provided to parents or caregivers after the children had completed the circumcision procedure through direct explanations, wound care demonstrations, medication administration simulations, and distribution of written guidelines. The educational materials covered wound care and hygiene, dressing changes, use of antiseptics, administration of medications according to clinical indications, and recognition of signs of infection and complications requiring medical attention. The medications provided included ibuprofen as an analgesic and amoxicillin as an antibiotic according to clinical indications. This activity provided parents with practical guidance on post-circumcision care and appropriate medication use at home. Individual education as part of community-based circumcision services may support family involvement in post-procedural care and serve as a promotive and preventive health effort to support wound healing and prevent complications in children.

Abstract

The development  of  a community-based Livestock Center in Gendro Village is a strategic effort to facilitate community and breeder access to livestock needs. This activity aims to provide a need center in the form of feed, vitamins, supplements, medicines, and supporting equipment that is relevant to livestock activities. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method through observation, discussion, documentation, and active community involvement. The stages of activities include identifying needs, planning, preparing facilities, providing products, and arranging the Livestock Center. The results of the activities show that the facilities developed are able to be an alternative place to provide livestock needs for the people of Gendro Village. Community involvement in the development process supports the implementation of a community-based approach, so that the Livestock Center has the potential to be a means of supporting livestock activities while strengthening community access to production needs. The sustainability of the program requires good management and sustainable community involvement so that the function  of the Livestock Center can run optimally. Thus, the development of  a community-based Livestock Center not only increases access to livestock needs, but also strengthens community participation in local economic development.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on population dynamics to improve the problem-solving skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 28 Surabaya. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach, with social studies teachers and eighth-grade students as subjects. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, documentation, and learning assessments. The results showed that the application of the PBL model was able to increase student engagement in the learning process, develop critical thinking skills, and help students find solutions to contextual population problems. PBL implementation was carried out through five stages: problem orientation, student organization, group investigation, presentation of results, and evaluation of the problem-solving process. Supporting factors for implementation included the use of the contextual problem 'Surabaya 2045,' heterogeneous group work, and problem-solving-based student worksheets (LKPD). Challenges encountered included limited discussion time and differences in student participation levels. This study demonstrates that the PBL model is effective in social studies learning, particularly population dynamics, to improve students' problem-solving skills.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the craft training program of the Kriya Pacitan Community using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method through in-depth interviews and participatory observations involving community members and administrators. In the Context dimension, the training was conducted to meet the need for enhanced craft skills and to strengthen local economic capacity; however, it still faced limitations in access to knowledge and marketing networks. The Input evaluation revealed several constraints, including limited funding, inadequate facilities, transportation challenges, and a shortage of professional facilitators, alongside internal factors such as limited time, motivation, and participants’ experience. The Process aspect indicated that the implementation was not yet fully optimal, but the community adopted adaptive strategies such as the Training of Trainers (ToT), member contribution mechanisms, and collaboration with the Office of Cooperatives, MSMEs, and Dekranasda Pacitan. In the product dimension, the training resulted in improved basic craft skills and increased community self-reliance, although some program targets had not been fully achieved. Overall, the evaluation emphasizes that the effectiveness of craft training is influenced not only by technical aspects but also by social support, institutional strengthening, and the sustainability of empowerment programs.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship education and business financial management have become essential for vocational students due to increasing economic demands and competitive labor markets. This study aims to describe the implementation of entrepreneurship education and financial literacy for students of SMK AKBAR Pekanbaru in 2026 which was designed to enhance their understanding of business concepts and basic financial management skills. This research employed a descriptive method with data collected through activity observations, short questionnaires, documentation, and student interviews. The findings indicate that students showed strong interest in entrepreneurship materials and were able to understand basic concepts such as business opportunities and planning while in financial aspects they demonstrated the ability to record simple transactions although some still required guidance. The discussion suggests that practice-based learning approaches are more effective than conventional lectures because they provide direct experience in managing entrepreneurial and financial tasks. This study concludes that entrepreneurship and financial education significantly contribute to improving students’ competencies therefore similar programs should be continued and expanded with more advanced materials and varied learning strategies.

Abstract

The YIA Airport Train has become an alternative mode of transportation since the airport was moved to Yogyakarta International Airport, which is located approximately 45 km from the center of Yogyakarta, a city known as a tourist destination. This study identifies accessibility indices based on travel time and travel costs using secondary data from the official Access By KAI application and the Dinas Pariwisata DIY, and combines them with the perceived accessibility of 96 tourists who use the YIA Airport Train through a questionnaire distribution. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, it was found that the YIA Xpress Airport Train has a higher accessibility index based on travel time (238.556) but lower in terms of travel costs. Meanwhile, the YIA Regular Airport Train has a higher accessibility index based on travel costs (417,47) but is weak in terms of travel time. In the measurement of perceived accessibility, the perceived land use and perceived temporal components fell into the highly supportive category with TCR values of (90,00%) and (90,42%), respectively. Meanwhile, the perceived transport component falls into the supportive category with a TCR value of (89,75%). As an implication, there is a pattern of tourist movement created by YIA Airport Train users in Yogyakarta City, which is dominated by the chaining loop type (85%). Thus, the accessibility of the YIA Airport Train can support tourism activities in Yogyakarta City.

Abstract

This article examines the disparity between escalating cyber threats and cyber defense financing in Indonesia over the 2015–2025 period. Using a non-systematic qualitative literature review and an analysis of open budget data (2017–2023), the study highlights a dispersed and volatile pattern of cybersecurity spending allocations, amounting to only around 0.02% of GDP. The analytical framework draws on the concepts of securitization, fiscal governance, and institutional architecture. The findings reveal a structural gap between political rhetoric and actual funding, weak fiscal transparency in the security sector, and fragmentation across key institutions such as BSSN, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, and the Ministry of Defense. These results indicate that without a reorientation of budget priorities, cross-sector policy integration, and tiered improvements in transparency, Indonesia risks persistent systemic vulnerabilities in national digital security. The study recommends establishing a “Cyber Defense and Resilience” program within the state budget (APBN) as an initial step toward more strategic and coordinated financing reform.
