Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to improve the digital literacy and competence of educators at the Al-Hidayah Foundation through training in the design of educational and communicative social media content. The main problem faced by the partner is the educators' limited understanding and skills in designing visual content, composing engaging narratives, and managing social media in a planned and consistent manner. This condition has caused the Foundation's use of social media to remain suboptimal as a means of information, education, and reinforcement of the institution's image. As a solution, this activity was designed as structured training covering an introduction to the role of social media in education, content design practice using easy-to-operate digital applications, and mentoring in developing content aligned with the identity and values of the Al-Hidayah Foundation. The activity was attended by 6 educators as training participants. The pre-test results showed an average participant knowledge score of 40, while the post-test results showed an increase to 87.7, equivalent to an improvement of 47.7%. This indicates that the training provided was effective in improving educators' understanding of social media literacy and content design. Through this activity, the educators are expected to be able to produce more creative, informative, and sustainable social media content, thereby supporting the improvement of digital communication quality and the institution's existence within the community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the socialization of the New Electricity Installation Assistance Program (BPBL) in increasing public understanding and encouraging electricity access for poor households in Fadoro Sitolu Hili Village, Lahewa District. The BPBL program is a government policy that provides free electricity installation assistance for underprivileged communities who have not yet enjoyed independent electricity connections. This study used a descriptive-qualitative approach with observation, documentation, and brief interviews with village officials and target residents. The results of the discussion indicate that the BPBL socialization was able to increase public knowledge regarding the program's objectives, recipient criteria, benefits, required documents, and registration procedures. In addition, the socialization conducted directly in the village strengthened community trust in the government program and clarified that the BPBL is free of charge. Thus, the BPBL socialization plays a significant role in accelerating equitable access to electricity and supporting improvements in the quality of life of rural communities.

Abstract

The utilization of local history as a learning resource remains limited in history education, resulting in students having insufficient understanding of their regional historical heritage. In fact, local historical sites can serve as contextual learning resources that enhance students’ historical understanding and awareness. This community service activity aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of local history through the exploration of historical sites in Tual City. The program was conducted at SMK Negeri 3 Ohoinol and involved 52 students from grades XI and XII. The implementation methods included local history socialization, educational video screenings, interactive discussions, and field visits to several historical sites in Tual City, including Nen Dit Sak Mas, Kerbau Siuw, Watraan Japanese Fort, Duroa Fort, and historical cannons. The activities were carried out over two days using a contextual learning approach that connected historical materials with students’ real-life environment. The results indicated an improvement in students’ understanding of local history, reflected in their active participation during discussions, their ability to explain historical information gained from the activities, and their increased interest in local historical and cultural heritage. Furthermore, the program fostered students’ awareness of the importance of preserving historical sites as part of the cultural identity of the local community. Therefore, the exploration of historical sites can serve as an effective contextual learning strategy to strengthen local historical understanding among students.

Abstract

Flash floods are one of the most frequent hydrometeorological disasters in Indonesia and cause significant impacts on community life, particularly in areas with high rainfall and river-dominated geographical conditions. Langkahan District, North Aceh Regency, was one of the areas severely affected by flash floods, resulting in infrastructure damage, disruption of socio-economic activities, limited access to transportation, and increased public health risks. These conditions required a rapid, coordinated, and multi-stakeholder response. As part of Military Operations Other Than War (MOOTW), the Indonesian Navy conducted a humanitarian operation involving the Marine Corps, the Marine Health Corps, and community volunteers. This operation aimed to provide evacuation assistance, emergency health services, psychosocial support, and logistical aid distribution to flood-affected communities in Langkahan District. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through participatory observation during the humanitarian operation, semi-structured interviews with Indonesian Navy personnel, Marine Corps members, medical teams, volunteers, and affected residents, as well as documentation review. Field operations included deployment to the affected area using Marine Corps tactical trucks due to damaged road access, evacuation of residents, medical services, distribution of basic necessities, and referral of patients requiring advanced medical treatment. The results indicate that collaboration between the Indonesian Navy, Marine Corps, Marine Health Corps, and volunteers significantly improved the effectiveness of emergency response, accelerated aid distribution, and supported early community recovery. The active involvement of volunteers strengthened community trust and enhanced coordination between state institutions and local communities in disaster management.

Abstract

The growing number of older people in Indonesia calls for empowerment initiatives that focus not only on physical health, but also on mental health, economic independence and quality of life for older people. According to data from the Central Statistics Agency for 2025, the number of older people will reach 33.9 million, or 11.97% of Indonesia’s total population. This situation forms the basis for the implementation of a Community Service activity at the GKP Ebenhaezer Cawang Congregation, themed “Happy Retirement: Healthy, Prosperous, Productive and Meaningful”. This activity aims to enhance participants’ understanding of elderly health, retirement preparation, financial management, business opportunities, and ergonomics in daily activities. The methods employed included health talks, interactive education, ergonomic demonstrations, and evaluation using pretest and post-test instruments. The material covered physical and mental health in older adults, retirement planning, productive business opportunities for older adults, and the application of ergonomic principles to prevent musculoskeletal disorders. The results of the programme demonstrated an increased understanding among participants regarding the importance of regular health check-ups, prudent financial management, seizing business opportunities in line with their capabilities, and maintaining correct posture at work. The programme successfully raised participants’ awareness that retirement is not the end of productivity, but rather a phase of life that can be lived in a healthy, independent and meaningful way. This initiative also strengthened the synergy between higher education institutions and the community in supporting the empowerment and well-being of older people.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to examine strategies for strengthening human competencies in the face of technological disruption through a national seminar entitled "Human Resource Transformation in the Digital Era: A Cross-Disciplinary Approach for Sustainable Community Empowerment." This seminar featured expert speakers from various universities to provide multidimensional perspectives for participants. The discussion focused on digital technology integration, organizational culture adaptation, and management innovation in an effort to increase community economic resilience. The implementation method was carried out through intensive material presentations and interactive discussions that connected academic theory with practical needs in the field. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' awareness and understanding of the importance of digital literacy and cross-disciplinary collaboration as the key to inclusive empowerment. Through synergy between academics, the seminar succeeded in formulating strategic recommendations for the development of adaptive, innovative, and globally competitive human resources. It is hoped that the output of this activity can become a catalyst for the creation of sustainable community independence amidst the dynamics of the rapidly evolving digital ecosystem. Recognizing the importance of this issue, a Community Service seminar entitled "Human Resource Transformation in the Digital Era: A Cross-Disciplinary Approach for Sustainable Community Empowerment" was held on March 7, 2026.

Abstract

Doctoral legal research often gets trapped in academic formality and lacks practical benefit for the public. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to optimize the utility of legal research through educational dissemination on the axiology of philosophy of science and the enhancement of practical legal awareness among residents of Cilempuk Hamlet, Purwamekar Village, Karawang Regency. The implementation method employed a participatory educational approach comprising socialization, interactive presentation on the Trias Philosophy of Science (ontology, epistemology, and axiology as the crown of a dissertation), and an open legal discussion. The results indicated an increased public understanding regarding the significance of axiological value ("so what?") in law and legal research. Residents demonstrated an understanding of legal pluralism (written laws and unwritten/customary laws), internalized daily legal compliance such as traffic discipline and mutual respect, and strengthened national commitment rooted in religious values. This activity successfully transformed theoretical-philosophical concepts into practical legal awareness at the rural level to foster a prosperous community.

Abstract

Student learning motivation in non-formal education often suffers due to conventional methods and a lack of real-world relevance. This community service program aimed to enhance student learning motivation through the creation of wedding keepsakes and gift hampers utilizing local MSME products. Implemented on August 2, 2026, at Rumah Kreasi Novi Diana Tanjung, the program involved 20 students using a project-based learning approach. Data were collected via ARCS model questionnaires, structured observations, and satisfaction surveys. The results demonstrated a substantial improvement in overall learning motivation, with the mean score increasing significantly from 3.12 to 4.21. Notably, the Confidence dimension experienced the highest gain, reflecting the students' boosted self-efficacy upon successfully producing 40 tangible items. Furthermore, observations confirmed high behavioral engagement and peer collaboration throughout the workshop. The integration of MSME materials not only enriched the learning experience but also fostered early entrepreneurial awareness while supporting the local micro-economy. In conclusion, utilizing authentic local products in creative interventions serves as an effective strategy to revitalize student motivation and empower community learning hubs.

Abstract

Gendro Village, Tutur District, Pasuruan Regency has substantial dairy farming potential, but milk is still predominantly marketed as fresh milk, resulting in limited added value for the community. This community service activity aimed to improve community knowledge and skills in milk diversification through the production of milk crackers and to initiate their development as a village flagship product. The activity used a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach consisting of potential and needs identification, joint planning, material delivery, demonstration, production practice, and evaluation. The training was conducted on 12 August 2026 and involved 20 members of the Gendro Village PKK. Participants directly practiced material preparation, dough mixing and shaping, cooking, cooling, slicing, drying, and frying. The activity showed that locally available fresh cow milk can be used to produce milk crackers through relatively simple processing technology that can be applied at household scale. Participants also gained knowledge and direct experience in alternative milk utilization. Milk crackers therefore have potential to be developed as a flagship product of Gendro Village, although further commercialization requires formulation and process standardization, quality and shelf-life testing, packaging improvement, product licensing, and marketing strategy development.

Abstract

The development of corporate identity for UMKM MIKITA was carried out to overcome the inconsistency of visual identity that has been hindering its market competitiveness. The main problems included the lack of a strong logo, unattractive packaging design, and minimal utilization of visual elements for marketing. The methods used included direct observation, in-depth interviews with the UMKM owner, branding needs analysis, designing the "Modern Tradition" concept, creating logos and mockups, as well as implementation and evaluation. The results show that the new corporate identity design has a significant impact on improving the professional image of the UMKM, strengthening brand identity, and potentially increasing market appeal. The UMKM owner highly appreciated the resulting design because it was able to reflect the product's quality values and historical heritage. Students involved gained valuable practical experience in applying graphic design for the creative industry. These findings affirm that structured branding design assistance is an effective solution to enhance the capacity of UMKMs to compete in the modern era. Through synergy between academic expertise and the needs of business actors, UMKM MIKITA can build a strong branding foundation for sustainable growth.
