Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the collaboration between teachers and parents in improving students' Quran recitation and its impact on the quality of their Quran recitation at the Assalam Islamic Boarding School in Kedungpari, Mojowarno, Jombang. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique employed the Milles and Huberman triangulation model, which includes three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results indicate that the collaboration included active communication through WhatsApp groups, the use of a contact book, periodic parent-guardian meetings, and involvement in parenting activities. This collaboration significantly improved the quality of students' Quran recitation, both in terms of fluency, accuracy of pronunciation, and understanding of Tajweed. Supporting factors for the success of the collaboration included teacher and parent commitment and the use of digital media. Obstacles included time constraints, differences in parental backgrounds, and a lack of responsiveness from some parents. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe Al-Maraghi's interpretation of social inclusion and its implementation in the development of an inclusive Indonesian society. This study is qualitative, drawing on the text of Tafsir Al-Maraghi in relation to the concept of social inclusion. Data collection techniques were based on relevant literature, specifically Al-Maraghi's Tafsir from predetermined sources, and using theme analysis. The results of the study revealed several verses of the Quran related to social inclusion issues, including: Surah Al-Nisa' 4:58; Surah Al-Ma'un 107:1-3; Surah Al-Hujurat 49:13; Surah Al-Taubah 9:60; Surah Al-'Alaq 96:1-5; and Surah Al-Kafirun 109:6. In the several verses above, the application of the value of social inclusion in the development of society in Indonesia, with the importance of social justice, equality, attention to marginalized groups, according to Al-Maraghi's view in his interpretation, makes a significant contribution, and can be used as study material for policy makers, social activists and the wider community to move towards more inclusive and fair thinking in realizing a peaceful life for Muslims in the present and future. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines the interpretations of students' understanding of the practice of English language familiarization in the Al-Qur'an Assembly activities at the Hamalatul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School (PPHQ) in Jombang. This research uses a qualitative case study approach from a Living Qur'an perspective. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the majority of students interpret the English language familiarization in the Al-Qur'an Assembly as a modern da'wah strategy that opens up opportunities for Islamic communication in the international sphere. This is in line with Surah Ar-Rum (30):22) concerning linguistic diversity as a sign of God's power, and is emphasized in Surah Ibrahim (14:4), Surah Az-Zukhruf (43:3), and Surah Fussilat (41:44) concerning the urgency of linguistic clarity in conveying revelation. Thus, the use of English in PPHQ is understood as an adaptive manifestation of Qur'anic values, uniting sacred traditions with the demands of the times. This study recommends the involvement of the Islamic boarding school community in supporting innovation to foster harmony between tradition and modernity. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines the community's reception of Quranic verses in Klino Village, Sekar District, Bojonegoro Regency, within the Nyadran tradition, as well as the Quranic values ​​integrated within it. Using the Living Quran approach, this study examines how the Quranic text is not only understood normatively but also lived and internalized in local cultural practices, such as the Nyadran tradition. The study employed qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach through observation, interviews, and documentation of Nyadran activities, which were then analyzed using content analysis. The results show that the community interprets Nyadran as a form of worship and respect grounded in Islamic spiritual values. The recitation of Surah Yasin, the tahlil prayer, and the tumpeng symbol are interpreted as expressions of gratitude and strengthening shared spirituality. The Nyadran tradition reflects Quranic values ​​such as brotherhood, gratitude, reverence, and social concern. Thus, this tradition is not just a cultural practice, but a real representation of the Living Qur'an which harmonizes Islamic values ​​and local wisdom in people's lives. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research explores the problems in the writing of the Qur’anic manuscript within the Muslim Pro application (2020–2025 version) using a netnographic analysis. The background of this study lies in the increasing use of digital mushaf, which raises concerns about textual accuracy, consistency of rasm, and completeness of diacritical marks. The purpose of this research is to identify errors in Qur’anic writing and to understand users’ responses to these issues. The method applied is qualitative with a netnographic approach, analyzing data from user reviews and comments on digital platforms related to Muslim Pro. The findings reveal several problems, including technical errors in letters and diacritics, inconsistencies with rasm Uthmani, and differing user perceptions regarding digital mushaf standards.This study concludes that the problems in mushaf writing are not only technical but also connected to religious sensitivity. Therefore, the involvement of Qur’anic scholars in digital verification is essential to ensure the authenticity and reliability of digital mushaf. Abstract

ABSTRACTION This study aims to analyze the interpretation of Surah al-Aḥzāb, 33:21, which raises the concept of uswah ḥasanah (good example) in the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) according to two prominent commentators, Ibn Kathir and Wahbah al-Zuḥaylī. To this end, the researcher positions the concept of morality as the formal object and the verse in question as the material object. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research and comparative analysis to explore the moral messages in the interpretations of these two figures. Ibn Kathir emphasizes the historical and exemplary aspects in the context of warfare and the faith of the Companions, while Wahbah al-Zuḥaylī provides a normative interpretation applicable to contemporary Muslims. The results show that despite differences in style and approach, both emphasize the importance of embracing the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a model for moral development. The relevance of this interpretation is significant in addressing the challenges of moral degradation in the modern era, particularly in holistic moral education. This study recommends integrating the moral values ​​of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) into formal and non-formal education, continually adapting to changing times. Abstract

Kekerasan dan konflik berkepanjangan di Papua mencerminkan persoalan struktural yang memerlukan pendekatan teologis yang lebih kontekstual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pendekatan hermeneutika pembebasan Farid Esack dalam membaca QS. An-Nisāʾ [4]:75 sebagai dasar pembelaan kaum tertindas, dalam konteks masyarakat Papua. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka, menganalisis karya-karya utama Farid Esack serta referensi-referensi sekunder yang terkait dengan tafsir, hermeneutika, dan persoalan sosial Papua. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan hermeneutika Esack—yang memadukan prosedur regresif-progresif, gerakan ganda, dan enam kunci hermeneutika (taqwā, tauḥīd, an-nās, al-mustaḍ'afūn, al-'adl, qisṭ, dan jihād)—mampu menghadirkan pembacaan Al-Qur'an yang etis, praksis, dan imparsial. Kesimpulannya, pendekatan ini tidak hanya mengontekstualisasikan pesan moral Al-Qur'an, tetapi juga membuka jalan bagi agenda rekonsiliasi yang adil di Papua. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perluasan penerapan hermeneutika Esack ke isu-isu sosial lain di Indonesia untuk memperkaya wacana interpretasi kontekstual dan praksis Islam yang membebaskan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the influence of the habit of reading the Qur'an on students' understanding of Islamic teachings at MI Al-Urwatul Wutsqo 1, located in Bulurejo Village, Diwek District, Jombang Regency. The background of this research is based on the importance of cultivating the habit of reading the Qur'an as an integral part of character and spiritual education that contributes to students’ deep comprehension of Islamic values. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the regular practice of reading the Qur'an implemented at MI Al-Urwatul Wutsqo 1 positively impacts students' understanding of Islamic teachings. Students who consistently engage in reading the Qur'an demonstrate enhanced religious awareness, discipline, noble character, and better understanding of Islamic Education subjects. Activities such as daily Qur'anic recitation (tadarus) and memorization programs help shape students into religious and morally upright individuals. Therefore, the habit of reading the Qur'an proves to be an effective means of supporting Islamic education and fostering Islamic character in students. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research ains to explore how Guidance and Counseling teachers address bullying cases involving both perpetrators and victims at SMPN 2 Mojoagung Jombang.The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that bullying at SMPN 2 Mojoagung Jombang manifests in both physical and psychological forms, typically occurring when students with perceived weaker. The causes of bullying are influenced by internal and external factors. Internal factors include personality traits and family attitudes that hinder the development of mature character, while external factors relate to environmental and cultural conditions. To address these issues, Guidance and Counseling teachers provide continuous support through individual counseling, information sessions, and character-building activies, both inside and outside the classroom, thereby reducing bullying incidents. Additionally, the 5S program ( smile, greet, handshake, polite address, and courtesy ) is promoted, Regular evaluations are conducted to assess the effectiveness of these interventions, particularly in relation to bullying prevention. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to comprehend how moral education is understood by Imam Al-Ghazali and to identify the methods employed by Imam Al-Ghazali in moral education. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a content analysis method and the Library Research method. Data collection techniques include reading the book Ihya Ulumiddin Volume III by Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali regarding methods of moral education (as primary data), collecting and tracing translations of Ihya Ulumiddin (The Revival of the Religious Sciences), Ya Ayyuhal Walad (O My Beloved Son), and Al-Munqizu Minad-Dhalal (Deliverance from Error) by Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali, as well as studying, reviewing, and understanding analyses found in books that serve as secondary data sources. The results of this study show that the methods used by Imam Al-Ghazali in moral education are highly diverse, including the lecture method, discussion and question-and-answer methods, storytelling method, assignment method, mujahadah and riyadhah methods, as well as the method of giving rewards and punishments.
