Abstract

The purpose of the study is analyze the level of psychological resilience and achievement motivation of badminton athletes. The research uses a quantitative descriptive method with a population of 30 PB Pendowo athletes. The sampling technique was purposive sampling based on specific criteria, resulting in 15 athletes being selected as the research sample. The research instrument for measuring resilience is the Connor Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) with a validity value of 0,46 to 0,68 and a reliability value of 0,87, and to measure motivation Sport Motivation Scale (SMS-II) with validity values ranging from 0,455 to 0,911 and a reliability value of 0,946. The research result for the resilience variable shows that 2 athletes (13%) are in the high category, 12 athletes (80%) are in the medium category, and 1 athlete (7%) is in the low category. For the achievement motivation result, 3 athletes (20%) fell into the high category, 10 athletes (67%) into the medium category, and 2 athletes (13%) into the low category. In conclusion, the results indicate that PB Pendowo athletes in the 13-16 age group have medium psychological resilience and achievement motivation. Further research is suggested to use a larger and more proportional sample in each age group.

Abstract

This study is a descriptive study that aims to explain and describe the management of sports coaching at the Bank Sulselbar FC Makassar soccer school. The variables in this study are planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising. The population in this study is the entire SSB Bank Sulselbar FC, while the sample consists of 3 managers, 3 coaches, 20 players, and 4 parents. The research data was obtained with the validity and reliability of the questionnaire first tested for validity and approved by two experts. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires and interviews. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical analysis with the help of the SPSS 27 program. Based on the results of the data analysis, it can be concluded that planning management is in the good category with a percentage of 73.33%, while organizing, implementing, and supervising management are each in the good category with a percentage of 66.67%. These findings indicate that coaching management has been carried out effectively, although continuous improvement efforts are still needed to optimize every aspect of management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between health literacy levels and student participation levels in Physical Education (PJOK) learning for children in Phase. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The sample consisted of 80 elementary school students in Makassar city selected through a purposive sampling technique. The research instruments consisted of the Health Literacy for Young Children Questionnaire (HLYCQ) adapted version for Phase A and the Observation Sheet of Physical Education Participation (OS-PEP). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation. The results of the analysis showed a strong positive and significant correlation between health literacy and student participation in PJOK learning (r = 0.612; p < 0.001), and health literacy explained approximately 37.4% of the variation in participation (R² = 0.374). Descriptively, the average health literacy score (mean = 78.35; SD = 10.21) and the Physical Education and Health (PJOK) participation score (mean = 15.87 out of a maximum of 20; SD = 2.41) indicate that the majority of Phase A students have a fairly good level of literacy and participation. This finding confirms that the greater a child's understanding of basic health, the greater their engagement in PJOK learning activities

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difference in pickleball serve skills between beginner and intermediate athletes. This study uses a comparative quantitative method with an independent two-group comparison design between beginner and intermediate athletes. The population in this study consisted of all 18 members of the Semarang State University Pickleball Club, comprising 8 beginner athletes and 10 intermediate athletes, selected using purposive sampling. Data collection used a structured service ability test that measured accuracy and consistency through ten service attempts. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, and independent two-sample t-tests. The results showed that intermediate athletes had higher average accuracy and consistency scores than beginner athletes. Statistical tests showed a significant difference between the two groups. These results indicate that training experience and playing intensity contribute to improved pickleball serving skills.

Abstract

High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) in basketball often faces high injury risks due to intensive training loads. This study aims to analyze the role of epidemiology and biomechanics in preventing HIIT injuries for basketball athletes in Makassar City. The study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design on 156 basketball athletes (aged 18-25 years) for 24 weeks. Data were collected through injury surveillance using the Orchard Sports Injury Classification System and three-dimensional biomechanical analysis (240 Hz). Statistical analysis used Cox proportional hazards regression, principal component analysis, and multivariate logistic regression. Results showed an injury incidence rate of 8.7 per 1000 athlete-exposures (95% CI: 6.2-11.4) with 73.6% lower extremity injuries. Significant biomechanical factors included peak knee valgus angle (HR=2.34; p<0.001), vGRF asymmetry >15% (HR=1.87; p=0.003), and contact time <180ms (HR=1.92; p=0.002). The predictive model showed excellent discriminatory power (AUC=0.843; sensitivity=81.2%; specificity=76.5%). The novelty of this research lies in the integration of epidemiological and biomechanical approaches to identify HIIT injury risk factors in basketball athletes with effect size analysis and Self-Determination Theory framework. This approach proved effective for pre-participation screening and injury risk stratification. The practical implications of this research provide evidence-based references for coaches and sports practitioners in designing safe and effective HIIT programs for basketball athletes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the comparison of healthy lifestyles between male and female students at the junior high school level. The research uses a quantitative approach with a comparative design. Data were collected using a questionnaire, resulting in 252 respondents comprising 115 male students and 137 female students. Data analysis was conducted using the Mann-Whitney test because the data were not normally distributed. The healthy lifestyle in this study includes seven indicators as well as a total healthy lifestyle score. The results indicate that there are significant gender differences in the indicators of physical activity (0.005), stress management (0.000), sleep habits (0.040), freedom from substance abuse (0.000), and the total healthy lifestyle score (0.000). Meanwhile, no significant differences were found in the indicators of healthy eating patterns (0.892), social support (0.215), and limited screen time (0.642). Male students are more physically active, whereas female students are better in stress management, sleep habits, free from substance abuse, and total healthy lifestyle scores. These findings indicate the role of gender in several healthy lifestyle indicators and provide a basis for the development of more adaptive physical education programs and school policies.
