Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the role of social empathy and emotional control in shaping stop bullying behavior among Salafiyah Ulya santri at Pondok Pesantren Al-Madina Al-Islami Prabumulih. The study employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design to understand students’ subjective experiences related to social interaction, emotional regulation, and stop bullying culture within the daily life of the pesantren environment. Research participants consisted of the pesantren leader, ustadz, dormitory supervisors musyrif, and santri selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. Data analysis utilized the interactive model of Matthew B. Miles and A. Michael Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and member checking. The findings revealed that students social empathy developed through collective dormitory life, which fostered solidarity, social concern, and emotional support among santri. The most commonly identified form of bullying was verbal bullying, particularly ridicule and excessive joking, although its intensity remained relatively low. The pesantren culture, which emphasizes ukhuwah Islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood), mutual respect, and the practice of reminding one another, also functioned as a mechanism of social control in creating a safe and harmonious environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the epistemology of Prophet Abraham’s prophetic leadership in Surah Ibrahim verses 35–41 within the context of building generations in a digital civilization. The primary focus is to elucidate the epistemological foundations, historical principles, and moral accountability dimensions of prophetic leadership that remain relevant to the challenges of the digital era. The research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, utilizing textual analysis of the Qur’an through a thematic (maudhu‘i) exegesis perspective and descriptive-interpretive analysis. The data are examined by emphasizing the exploration of the conceptual meanings of verses related to Prophet Abraham’s leadership and their relevance to the formation of generational character in the digital age. The findings indicate that the epistemology of Prophet Abraham’s prophetic leadership is grounded in tawhid as the central paradigm that integrates spiritual, moral, and social dimensions in the construction of civilization. In addition, Prophet Abraham’s leadership embodies a strong historical consciousness through a transgenerational orientation and an emphasis on the continuity of values as a civilizational pillar. The study also identifies the principles of moral accountability and divine validation as key elements affirming that all acts of leadership are situated within a framework of transcendent responsibility. In the context of digital civilization, this epistemology provides a normative framework for developing leadership that is not only based on technological competence but also grounded in spiritual ethics, thereby maintaining a balance between digital advancement and human values.

Abstract

Moral education in the Al-Qur’an is the primary foundation in shaping the character of human beings who are faithful, civilized, and responsible. Amid the development of globalization, digitalization, and the moral crisis affecting the educational world, strengthening moral values has become an urgent necessity within the Islamic educational system. This study aims to analyze the values of moral education in the Al-Qur’an and their relevance to the character formation of students in the context of contemporary education. This research employs a qualitative approach based on library research using thematic analysis and contextual hermeneutics toward Al-Qur’anic verses related to morality. The primary data sources consist of the Al-Qur’an and classical as well as contemporary tafsir literature, while the secondary data sources include scientific journals, academic books, and relevant previous studies. The findings reveal that the values of moral education in the Al-Qur’an include honesty, responsibility, compassion, discipline, tolerance, justice, and self-control. These values possess very strong relevance to the character formation of students, especially in facing the challenges of the digital era characterized by declining social ethics and increasing individualism. This study confirms that Al-Qur’anic moral education functions not only as spiritual guidance but also as an integrative and humanistic paradigm of character education in building generations with noble personalities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance of the Kulliyyatul Mu’allimin al-Islamiyyah (KMI) Curriculum to the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in modern pesantren. The study is motivated by the transformation of national educational policy through the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes learning flexibility, character development, and the enhancement of students’ competencies, while modern pesantren have long implemented the KMI educational system oriented toward character formation and holistic education. This study employed a qualitative approach using a library research design. The data sources were obtained from books, scientific journals, academic articles, official documents, and previous studies relevant to the KMI Curriculum, the Merdeka Curriculum, and modern pesantren education. Data collection techniques were conducted through documentation studies, while data analysis employed the content analysis method by critically and systematically examining various literature sources. The findings reveal that the KMI Curriculum possesses strong relevance to the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, particularly in the aspects of character development, the cultivation of independence, the reinforcement of religious values, and the holistic development of students’ competencies. Furthermore, the educational values embedded within the KMI system are aligned with the strengthening of the Pancasila Student Profile and twenty-first-century learning promoted by the Merdeka Curriculum. Nevertheless, the integration of both curricula still encounters challenges related to curriculum adjustment, educators’ readiness, and learning management within modern pesantren. Therefore, systematic integration strategies are required to ensure that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in modern pesantren can be carried out effectively without diminishing the identity and values of Islamic education.
