Abstract

This paper explores the evolving dynamics of the Nigerian fashion industry, highlighting how cultural heritage and modern influences converge to shape design, consumption, and representation. Drawing from literature, industry reports, and digital trend analyses between 2015 and 2025, the study identifies three major shifts: the fusion of traditional and contemporary fashion styles, the rise of inclusivity and diversity, and the growing adoption of athleisure and casual wear. The findings reveal that Nigerian designers are reimagining traditional fabrics such as Ankara, Adire, and Aso-Oke through innovative tailoring and global collaboration. Simultaneously, increased body positivity, gender fluidity, and regional representation are transforming brand imagery and consumer engagement. The expansion of digital fashion ecosystems, driven by social media, e-commerce, and technology-based production, has amplified visibility and market access for local designers. The review concludes that Nigeria’s fashion evolution mirrors its socio-cultural transformation, presenting opportunities for sustainable growth, digital integration, and cultural diplomacy in the global creative economy.

Abstract

The military coup in Myanmar on February 1, 2021, marked a critical setback for the country’s democratic transition and triggered one of the most severe political and humanitarian crises in Southeast Asia. This paper aims to analyze ASEAN’s effectiveness in addressing the Myanmar crisis through the implementation of the Five-Point Consensus (5PC). Using a qualitative approach and library research method, the study explores ASEAN’s normative and institutional limitations in responding to internal conflicts that have regional implications. The research employs Normative Institutionalism and Regional Security Complex Theory as analytical frameworks to explain how ASEAN’s fundamental principles particularly non-interference and consensus decision making shape the organization’s cautious and non-coercive diplomacy. The findings reveal that ASEAN’s response remains largely symbolic and lacks enforcement mechanisms, resulting in low implementation effectiveness. Factors such as institutional weaknesses, normative constraints, and divergent geopolitical interests among member states further hinder progress. The study proposes a Five-Point Consensus Plus (5PC+) model, emphasizing measurable indicators, independent monitoring, and civil society engagement to strengthen ASEAN’s peacebuilding capacity. In conclusion, ASEAN must undergo institutional reform and reinterpret its norms to enhance its credibility as a regional peace and security actor.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role and perceptions of Guidance and Counseling (GC) services in addressing student delinquency and enhancing learning motivation at SMP Negeri 2 Karawang Barat. Guidance and Counseling services play a strategic role in assisting students in overcoming academic, social, and personal problems that may influence their behavior and learning enthusiasm. This research employed a qualitative approach using observation and in-depth interviews with guidance counselors and students as the primary data collection methods. The findings indicate that GC services have a significant role in handling various forms of student delinquency, such as violations of school regulations and low learning discipline, as well as in improving students’ learning motivation through individual and group counseling services. Guidance counselors actively monitor students’ development and collaborate with subject teachers, homeroom teachers, parents, and external parties, including psychologists, to provide comprehensive support. Furthermore, collaboration between GC services and Islamic Religious Education teachers through keputrian activities strengthens students’ moral and spiritual development, contributing positively to character building. Although GC services at SMP Negeri 2 Karawang Barat have been implemented effectively, this study reveals that preventive efforts and student potential development programs require further enhancement. Strengthening preventive approaches and adopting strategies that are adaptive to the challenges of the digital era are essential to ensure that Guidance and Counseling services can optimally support students’ holistic development.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has generated new challenges in civil law, particularly regarding breach of contract in cross-border transactions. The autonomous decision-making capacity of AI systems raises questions concerning their legal status and the allocation of contractual liability. This study aims to analyze liability for breaches of contract caused by AI under Indonesian civil law and to examine the determination of the applicable law (lex causae) in cross-border contracts from the perspective of private international law. Using a normative juridical method with conceptual, case-based, and comparative approaches, this research draws upon the Indonesian Civil Code, the Electronic Information and Transactions Law, the Copyright Law, and relevant legal literature. The findings show that autonomous AI cannot be recognized as a legal subject in the Indonesian legal system due to the absence of free will and moral consciousness, so liability remains attributed to the human or legal entity operating the system under the doctrine of vicarious liability. The case of Quoine v B2C2 confirms that contracts executed through algorithms remain legally binding on human or corporate parties rather than AI systems. From a private international law perspective, the study affirms that the use of AI does not alter the fundamental principles for determining lex causae, which continue to rely on connecting factors such as lex loci contractus, lex loci solutionis, and party autonomy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the community's perception of the existence of the Tambakboyo landfill and its impact on the surrounding environment. This study uses a qualitative research method. The subjects of this study are the landfill managers and the community living around the Tambakboyo landfill. This study uses direct observation and interview methods as well as Miles and Huberman Punch's interactive analysis data analysis technique. The results of the study show that the perspectives of the community trigger different views among individuals and only focus on personal interests. The majority of the community living around the TPS feel discomfort due to unpleasant odors and potential long-term health risks. Therefore, they demand improvements from the TPS management and local government. Conversely, a small portion of the community sees the TPS as a source of benefit for them because it facilitates waste disposal and management.

Abstract

This study provides a juridical analysis of the application of the Plurium Litis Consortium principle in the Serang District Court Decision Number 81/Pdt.G/2025/PN Srg, which declared the plaintiff’s claim inadmissible (niet ontvankelijke verklaard/NO) due to a formal defect in the form of incomplete parties. The legal issue examined concerns the absence of other parties who were proven to have jointly taken and utilized the disputed land but were not included as defendants in the lawsuit. This omission resulted in error in persona, leading to the failure to fulfill the formal requirements of a civil claim. This research employs a normative legal research method using statutory, case, and conceptual approaches to assess the conformity of the judges’ legal reasoning with civil procedural law and relevant jurisprudence. The findings indicate that the judges’ application of the Plurium Litis Consortium principle was appropriate and aligned with the principles of justice, legal certainty, and the effectiveness of judicial decisions. The inclusion of all parties with legal interests in the disputed object is essential to ensure a comprehensive and enforceable judgment. Failure to involve such parties may give rise to subsequent disputes and hinder the execution of the court’s decision. Therefore, the declaration of the claim as inadmissible in the a quo case represents a correct legal measure to preserve the integrity of judicial proceedings and serves as an important guideline for litigants to exercise greater diligence in formulating civil claims in accordance with applicable procedural principles.

Abstract

A prenuptial agreement is a legal instrument that functions to separate the assets between husband and wife, both assets that existed before and those acquired during the marriage. However, in practice, the implementation of prenuptial agreements often raises issues in cases of divorce, especially when one party maintains control over assets that are legally owned by the other party. This study aims to examine the legal considerations of the judge in Decision Number 490/Pdt.G/2024/PN Cbi between Trisiana Waty versus Lim Cipto Halim, which relates to claims of ownership over assets after divorce as regulated in the prenuptial agreement. This study uses a normative legal research method with statute, conceptual, and case approaches. Data were obtained through analysis of court decision documents, legislation, and legal doctrines from experts. The research results indicate that the judge considering the existence of a prenuptial agreement as evidence of lawful separation of assets in accordance with Article 29 of Law No. 1 of 1974, but rejecting the lawsuit because there is still a case concerning the division of joint property in the Serang District Court that has not yet obtained permanent legal force. Thus, the prenuptial agreement is recognized as a binding legal norm, but its application remains subject to the principles of legal certainty and non-contradiction of decisions within the Indonesian civil court system.

Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into business decision-making processes has significantly transformed corporate operations while simultaneously raising complex legal issues, particularly concerning liability for decisions generated autonomously by algorithmic systems. This study analyzes the legal position of artificial intelligence within Indonesia’s regulatory framework and evaluates the extent to which the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE Law) can serve as a legal basis for accountability when AI-generated decisions result in losses. Employing a normative juridical method with statutory and conceptual approaches, this research examines the classification of AI as an electronic agent and its implications for determining business liability. The analysis demonstrates that, under Indonesian positive law, AI has not yet been recognized as an independent legal subject, resulting in legal responsibility remaining with developers, operators, or business entities that deploy AI systems. Nevertheless, the absence of specific and comprehensive AI regulations creates legal uncertainty, particularly in light of AI’s autonomous operation and opaque decision-making mechanisms. This study concludes that although the ITE Law provides an initial normative foundation for regulating AI-related accountability, it remains insufficient to address the legal complexity, ethical concerns, and risks inherent in AI-driven business decision-making.

Abstract

The philosophy of science plays a fundamental role in establishing the framework of rationality and morality in scientific knowledge. This article aims to examine the philosophy of science as a reflective foundation that guides the development of science not only toward empirical truth but also toward ethical values and social responsibility. Using a literature review approach, this study analyzes the main concepts of the philosophy of science, including ontology, epistemology, and axiology, as well as their relevance in modern scientific practice. The findings indicate that scientific rationality cannot be separated from the philosophical framework that guides critical and systematic scientific thinking. Furthermore, the philosophy of science serves as a moral guardian of science, ensuring that the application of scientific knowledge remains aligned with humanitarian values and sustainability. This article contributes conceptually by emphasizing the integration of rationality and morality as a normative foundation for the development of science and scientific ethics in the modern era. Therefore, the philosophy of science stands as an essential pillar in maintaining the balance between scientific progress and moral values in human life.
