Abstract

Teacher Training Institutions (LPTK) play a strategic role in transforming educational quality through community service. This article aims to analyze the trends of learning innovation within LPTK service programs in Indonesia during the 2019-2023 period. Based on a literature review of 38 selected references, a significant shift in the mentoring paradigm was identified. Initially, community service focused on classical approaches such as Lesson Study, Classroom Action Research (CAR), and conventional media development. However, driven by post-pandemic demands, the trend has shifted towards establishing comprehensive digital literacy ecosystems. These innovations include the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and digital parenting programs. The analysis reveals that LPTKs are no longer solely focused on teachers' technical skills in the classroom but are actively building synergy between schools, families, and technology to create a sustainable digital learning ecosystem.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to assist students at SMAN 1 Kediri in understanding physics concepts through the Guided Discovery Learning (GDL) model assisted by PhET simulations. This activity involved one X grade science class as the main subject. The implementation method included the preparation stage, the implementation stage (guidance on the implementation of the GDL model), and the qualitative evaluation stage through observation and analysis of student work. The results of the assistance show the enthusiasm and active involvement of students in exploring physical phenomena digitally. Despite facing constraints in terms of equipment and internet connection, the use of a rotation system and the offline version of the PhET application actually strengthened collaboration and peer tutoring among students. Qualitative discussions based on Student Worksheets (LKPD) confirmed that students were able to construct an understanding of the relationship between mass, velocity, and momentum independently and logically. In conclusion, the integration of the GDL model and PhET simulations effectively bridges the understanding of abstract concepts and overcomes the limitations of physical laboratory facilities in partner schools.

Abstract

The PPL program at SMAN 1 Gerung was initiated to address the gap between the intended active, problem-based physics learning and the predominantly procedural classroom practices observed in the teaching of magnetic fields and the Lorentz force. This activity focused on employing a collaborative participatory action approach to strengthen students’ ability to observe phenomena, identify problems, and construct evidence-based arguments. The program consisted of three key stages: initial observation to map instructional needs, collaborative planning and enactment of problem-based lessons supported by phenomenon-driven demonstrations, and reflective discussions with teachers and students to evaluate the effectiveness of the implemented strategies. The results indicate increased student engagement, improved conceptual analysis, and stronger connections between theoretical principles and real-world contexts. The final reflection highlights that the collaborative participatory action framework enriched the instructional process and offers strong potential for future development, especially in advancing inquiry-based practices and scientific literacy in physics classrooms.

Abstract

Scientific publication is crucial in academia, yet many Physics Education students struggle to convert their Community Service Program (KKN) or School Field Introduction (PLP) reports into quality scientific articles due to substantive, technical, and procedural challenges. This study aims to enhance students' scientific writing competence through intensive mentoring. The mentoring method involved four stages: socialization and preparation, a writing workshop on the IMRaD format, a manuscript clinic with peer-review and one-on-one guidance (including the use of reference managers like Mendeley for citation and paraphrasing), and submission assistance via the Open Journal System (OJS). The results show a significant improvement in the quality of article drafts, especially the abstract and introduction, and students' ability to construct analytical-argumentative discussions. The one-on-one coaching method proved effective in providing direct feedback. Students also became proficient in operating reference managers and understanding the OJS publication process, enhancing their digital literacy and academic confidence. This program successfully facilitated the transformation of KKN/PLP reports into publishable scientific works, fostering a sustainable writing culture, and improving the profile of academically literate graduates.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has spurred innovations in learning, particularly in the higher education sector, to ensure the continuity of teaching and learning processes. A significant innovation is the utilization of the Moodle-based Learning Management System (LMS). This study aims to investigate the role of Moodle LMS in developing the argumentation skills of Master of Science Education students at Mataram University during the pandemic. Employing a research and development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation, Evaluation) and a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design, the research involved Master of Science Education students enrolled in a Research Methods course. The results indicate a significant improvement in students' argumentation skills after being taught using Moodle LMS, with N-gain values in the high category. Specifically, the "Claim," "Warrant," and "Backing" indicators showed higher average scores compared to the "Data" indicator. Furthermore, gender analysis revealed that female students demonstrated higher argumentation skills than male students. These findings confirm that Moodle LMS is an effective and adaptive learning medium that not only supports the learning process during the pandemic but also significantly trains and enhances students' argumentation skills, an essential component of higher-order thinking skills.
