Indonesian Journal of Elementary and Childhood Education (IJECE) merupakan jurnal ilmiah peer-reviewed yang didedikasikan sebagai platform diseminasi hasil pemikiran dan penelitian bagi mahasiswa, guru, dosen, praktisi, serta peneliti. Abstract

The early childhood development period is the most appropriate period to develop all the potential possessed by early childhood. A child is an individual figure who is undergoing a development process that occurs rapidly and is fundamental to the next life process of the child. Along with the goal of early childhood education to develop all the potential possessed by children, the home is expected to be a place for children to develop attitudes, knowledge, skills, and creativity that can be used as children’s capital in adjusting to their environment and for further child development. The lack of interesting learning activities to develop creativity in children at Al-Fajri Early Childhood Education was the background of this research, so that the purpose of this study was to develop the creativity of group B children aged 5-6 years through collages with synthetic materials. This research method was development research, with three stages of development. Each of which consisted of planning, implementation, observation and development analysis stages. The subjects in this study were 7 children in group B. The data collection methods were observation and photo, documentation. Data analysis used was descriptive qualitative analysis. The result showed that collage activities could develop children’s creativity. This could be seen from the final results of the assessment of group B children scoring 46,1% in the pre-test and 91,7% inte post-test.

Abstract

Today's early childhood education institutions emphasize the cognitive development of children. Each school has its own way of developing children's cognitive development, this is the background for research on identifying children's cognitive development. The formulation of the research problem is how is the cognitive development of children in the aspects of learning and problem solving, how is the cognitive development of children in the aspect of logical thinking, and how is the cognitive development of children in the aspect of symbolic thinking. The research objective is to determine children's cognitive development in learning and problem solving aspects, logical thinking aspects, symbolic thinking aspects. The type of research used is qualitative which then the results of the research will be described. The research subjects were 30 children who were taken by random proportional random sampling technique. Data collection techniques in this study used the documentation method. Data processing techniques are triangulation, reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research on the first aspect of learning and problem solving on the indicator of knowing how to use play equipment as many as 6 children (19.98%) had not yet developed, there were six indicators with a high percentage of 17 children (56.61%) developing as expected. The second aspect of thinking logically on the indicator of knowing the causes and effects of something is that there is one child (3.33%) who has not yet developed. The indicators of knowing coarse-fine concepts, knowing geometric shapes have a percentage of 17 children (56.61%) developing as expected. The third aspect is symbolic thinking, the indicator of knowing full names and knowing the names of family members has a high percentage of 18 children (59.94%). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the cognitive development of children in the Early Childhood Education Cluster, Selong District, East Lombok Regency is developing as expected.

Abstract

There is a lack of social skills so that children are not able to interact well with their peers in Pembina Kec. Woha Kindergarten. Therefore the purpose of this study is to improve children's social skills through the traditional congklak game in group B at Pembina Kec. State Kindergarten. Woha Academic Year 2021. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were group B children, which consisted of 10 children. Data collection techniques in this study using observation techniques, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this study used descriptive analysis and statistical analysis. This research was conducted with several stages of observation including the first observation and the second observation. The results of the research on the 1st observation are that the child gets a score of 2 on several achievement indicators where the average value is 38.15% and this value is in the Starting to Develop (MB) category. Then an evaluation of the undeveloped indicators was carried out, including providing material reinforcement and giving enthusiasm and appreciation to the children then there was an increase in the second observation, the child got a score of 4 on several achievement indicators and the average score increased to 91.13% and the score in the Very Well Developed (BSB) category. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that playing congklak can improve the social skills of group B children in the Pembina State Kindergarten, Woha District.

Abstract

Early childhood numeracy skills are the abilities possessed by each children related to simple mathematical concepts, related to the introduction of the concept of a number and number symbols as well as simple addition and subtraction. The purpose of this study was to determine the efforts to develop a number bowling game that can improve the initial arithmetic ability of group A children at PAUD Adrikna Selen Aik, Narmada District in 2021. This type of research is a development research with three stages of development, each of which consists of planning, implementation, observation, and analysis of development. Subject This research is group A children, totaling 10 children. Method collection data using the method of observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of the research on the application of the number bowling game show that the average early arithmetic ability of children increases, namely in the first development 50,8% then development II. 79,1% and development III 93,9%.  The conclusion is that the application of the number bowling game can improve the initial numeracy skills of group A children at PAUD Adrikna Selen Aik Narmada District in 2021.

Abstract

Research on single parenting in the socio-emotional development of children aged 5-6 years was conducted with the aim of knowing parenting, its application and the factors that influence it. Single parent care is parenting carried out by single parents and social emotional development is the interaction of children with parents, as well as the wider community. This research was conducted because there are many cases of single parents that affect the social emotional development of children. This research was conducted at Sekarbela Mataram City in 2021. This type of research used descriptive qualitative research. The approach used in this research is a case study. The research subjects consisted of 2 boys and 2 girls aged 5-6 years. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of the research on the emotional social behavior of children aged 5-6 years in Sekarbela Mataram City, the subject is that the indicators are not yet developed (BB) children have not been able to solve problems in the games they are playing and cannot distinguish between their rights and obligations. Furthermore, on the indicator of starting to develop (MB) the child begins to avoid games that are not good for him. On the indicator of developing as expected (BSH) children are able to eat and drink on their own and on the indicator of very well developed (BSB) children are able to play alone without being accompanied by parents due to the lack of complete parental care.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the number card game on the ability to recognize number symbols in group A children in Kindergarten, Langgudu District, Bima Regency, in the 2021/2022 academic year. This study uses a quantitative experimental pre-experimental design method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study was group A children in TK Langgudu District, a total of 24 people consisting of 13 boys and 11 girls. Sampling in this study used non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques in the form of observation and checklist. The analysis technique includes a normality test, hypothesis test and statistical hypothesis. The results of the normality test for the pretest value of 0.097 and the post-test value of 0.160 with a significance value > 0.05 which means that the pretest and post-test data are normally distributed. After the data is normally distributed, it is continued with hypothesis testing using paired sample t-test on the pretest and post-test values ??with sig. 2 tailed is 0.000 <0.05 with a t value of 59.98 > t table 1.711 which means that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. The value of Ha in question is that there is a difference between the pretest and post-test values ??so it can be concluded that "there is a significant influence from the use of number card media on the ability to recognize number symbols of group A children in TK Langgudu District in 2022.

Abstract

Parents need to be aware of the development of their child's every step. But many parents are indifferent to it. They now actually give their love through babysitter and choose to become a career woman or a business father. So that when there is no other way to calm the baby, instead give a gadget hoping that the baby's crying will stop. On the one hand, it causes addiction, and some adverse effects affect the development and growth of the child. It really depends on what your parents accept and obey. To explore the responsibilities and roles of parents, the concept we know today is called parenting. This study uses an exploratory case study technique for qualitative research, and this study uses a qualitative case study technique. The primary data collection method consists of a literature review and secondary data obtained from the internet in the form of public data such as journals and articles.

Abstract

Based on the results obtained from observations and interviews that have been carried out, it turns out that there are several things that have not met the criteria and some have met the criteria, things that have not met the criteria are in learning facilities that are not equipped such as no LCD and projector, so that learning is hampered if the teacher wants to display learning images or videos. Then the thing that has met the criteria is when we made direct observations to SD Negeri Kledung Kradenan Purworejo. The completeness of learning in the classroom has been facilitated, such as the Syllabus, rpp, as well as for the cleanliness and tidiness of the school environment is good, so that the teaching and learning process can run systematically and as expected. So it can be concluded that the application of the Talking Stick learning model in grade 4 of SD Negeri Kledung Kradenan Purworejo, Central Java can improve student learning outcomes in natural science subjects. It has been proven through the results of interviews and observations at SD Negeri Kledung Kradenan Purworejo, Central Java, it turns out that students are more enthusiastic in learning when using the Talking Stick learning model than without using the Talking Stick learning model. That way in this study it is suggested that teachers can use the Talking Stick learning model. Because using the Talking Stick model can increase interest in learning and provide motivation to students in learning Natural Sciences.

Abstract

Education is the most important thing in human life, meaning that every Indonesian has the right to receive it and is expected to continue to develop it, education never stops, education in general makes sense in the process in life around developing individuals to be able to live life. One of the lessons that can be used in elementary schools in the learning process is the study of science. The learning model that can encourage students to find or understand information is the inquiry learning model. This learning model involves students fully during the learning process so that students are expected to be able to examine existing problems and find their own solutions to these problems. Based on this description, this article aims to determine the importance of using an inquiry-based learning model to improve students' ability to solve problems. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques using interviews and observations. The results of the academic ability of students who were taught by the inquiry method showed that students were able to solve the problem well. Learning outcomes are getting better by using the inquiry method. The results of this study are not only guided by academic improvement, but by teaching ways to find knowledge to students through observation and problem solving.

Abstract

This research was conducted at SD Negeri Pangenrejo 2 with the aim of knowing whether the learning method using a contextual approach had been applied in the elementary school or not, especially in science learning and how the students responded when using a contextual approach learning method. The learning model with a contextual approach is a learning approach that can link learning materials with the problems faced by students in real life both in the family, school, or community environment. Learning methods using a contextual approach can make students more active because students have to find out information about learning materials independently. By using contextual learning, learning will be more meaningful and real, learning will be more fun and less boring, and learning will be more productive. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method with data collection by observation, interviews, and teaching simulations in accordance with the lesson plans that have been made. The result of this research is that learning using contextual learning methods has not been fully implemented in every science lesson, because not all materials can be applied using contextual learning methods. The response of students when using contextual learning methods is that students do not feel bored when learning and better understand the learning material being taught and can relate it to problems that exist in everyday life.
