Abstract This study aims to investigate the relationship between duration of mechanical ventilator use, patient age, and bacterial patterns with the incidence of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) in the ICU room at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto. This study used an analytical observational approach involving 97 patients as respondent who were using mechanical ventilators in the ICU. Data analysis shows that there is a significant relationship between the length of use of a mechanical ventilator and the incidence of VAP. The longer the patient uses a mechanical ventilator, the higher the risk of VAP. In addition, patient age also has a significant relationship with the incidence of VAP, where older patients have a higher risk of VAP. The pattern of bacteria detected also influences the incidence of VAP, with the type of bacteria involved in the infection influencing the risk of VAP. Based on these findings, several suggestions can be proposed to improve the management and prevention of VAP. Among them are the implementation of strict hygiene protocols, increasing education and training of medical personnel, more intensive patient monitoring and supervision, proper identification and management of bacterial infections, and the need for further research with better designs. In conclusion, this study contributes to the understanding of factors associated with the incidence of VAP and may serve as a basis for better prevention and management efforts in reducing the incidence of VAP in the intensive care setting. However, further research is needed to validate these findings and develop more effective prevention strategies. Purpose: This qualitative, theory-building study develops an evidence-informed framework to explain why pharmaceutical medical representatives (MRs) in Indonesia may resign after being reassigned to distant or low-potential territories following perceived “like–dislike” supervisory dynamics. Research Methodology: We propose an embedded qualitative case study design in an Indonesian pharmaceutical company, integrating salesforce governance (territory design, KPI setting, and incentive rules) with organizational behavior theories on perceived organizational politics, leader member exchange (LMX) differentiation, organizational justice, and job demand resources. Results: The framework specifies three mechanism chains. First, supervisory favoritism fosters LMX differentiation, which in turn heightens employees’ perceptions of organizational politics and justice violations. Second, opaque governance of KPI and incentive systems undermines procedural justice, thereby weakening psychological safety. Third, when territory reassignment is interpreted as an informal sanction, it escalates job demands and subsequently increases withdrawal behaviors and turnover intentions, including resignation. Based on these mechanisms, we develop a set of research propositions and provide a field ready interview protocol for MR–supervisor dyads and, where relevant, Sales Operations and HR stakeholders. Limitations: As a conceptual qualitative study, empirical validation through in-depth interviews and document analysis is required. Contribution: The study connects political dynamics in pharmaceutical sales management to territory governance and KPI incentive systems, offering a practical agenda to reduce preventable turnover while maintaining ethical promotion standards (e.g., IPMG Code of Ethics).

Purpose: This conceptual paper develops an integrative model to explain how Indonesian consumers form preference and purchase intention toward halal cosmetics in social commerce, where information asymmetry and user-generated claims are pervasive. Research methodology: We conduct a theoretical review and theory-building synthesis across halal assurance and integrity, signaling theory, stimulus–organism–response (S‑O‑R), online trust and risk, value co-creation in social commerce, and platform governance. We integrate these streams with maqasid al-shariah to derive a new mechanism-based model. Results: We propose the MaHACC model (Maqasid-driven Halal Assurance and Co-Creation). A bundle of halal assurance signals, platform shariah governance, and co-creation affordances shapes Maqasid Congruence Appraisal and Amanah-based Digital Trust, which together predict preference, purchase intention, advocacy, and loyalty while reducing perceived halal risk. Limitations: This is a conceptual paper and does not empirically test the model. The scope is Indonesian social commerce and halal cosmetics as a high-credence category. Contribution: MaHACC advances Islamic marketing and digital platform research by (1) operationalizing maqasid congruence as a cognitive appraisal in digital halal consumption, (2) theorizing amanah-based digital trust as a multi-level mechanism linking assurance and co-creation to behavior, and (3) providing testable propositions and an empirical research agenda.
