Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of the cooperative learning method using the Team Games Tournament (TGT) model on students’ writing skills, specifically in writing analytical exposition texts for 11th-grade students at SMAN 1 Bengkulu City. The background includes several problems, such as some students not reaching the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM), difficulties in translating questions and writing English paragraphs due to limited vocabulary, differences in learning interest, and low student involvement in class discussions. This research used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving two classes, the experimental and control class, each with 36 students. The instrument was a writing test consisting of pre-tests and post-tests. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 28. The results showed a significant effect of the TGT model on students’ writing skills, proven by the F test result with an F value of 56.782, greater than the F table value of 3.98, with an effect contribution of 44.8%. The findings indicate that the Team Games Tournament (TGT) model is effective in improving students’ ability to write analytical exposition texts in a structured, communicative manner, so it can be recommended as a learning model for teachers in teaching writing skills in the classroom.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of using the Wordscapes application on the vocabulary mastery of seventh-grade students at MTs Al-Um Islamic Boarding School, North Bengkulu Regency, in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of two classes: experimental and control. The research instrument was a vocabulary test in the form of multiple-choice questions, administered before and after the treatment. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS version 28. A validity test was conducted on 65 items, resulting in 26 valid questions. Furthermore, normality, homogeneity, t-test, and F-test were performed to determine the significance of score differences between the experimental and control groups. The results showed a significant increase in scores in the experimental class compared to the control class after being treated with the Wordscapes application. This indicates that the Wordscapes application is effective in enhancing students vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

The researcher found several problems faced by teachers and students in the English learning process in the classroom, one of which is students' limited vocabulary mastery. One of the efforts made to help students in mastering vocabulary is through fun methods, namely using games. This study aims to determine whether there is a significant effect of using the digital game Bamboozle on vocabulary mastery in class eight students of SMP Negeri 14 Seluma Regency. This research used quantitative method with quasi-experimental design. The population in this study were all eight grade students of SMP Negeri 14 Seluma. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with class eight E as the experimental class and class eight D as the control class. Data were collected through a multiple choice vocabulary test of 27 questions. The data obtained was analyzed usingT-test and F-test formulas. Researcher found that there was an increase in the post-test. The average value of the experimental class was 66.13 in the pretest and 86.53 in the posttest. The T-test result is higher than the t-table (7.419 > 1672) and the F-test is higher than the f table (55.039 > 4.00). Thus it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of using digital bamboozle game toward students’ vocabulary mastery on eight grade students’ at smp negeri 14 seluma.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of using educational video-based multimedia on the English vocabulary mastery of seventh-grade students at SMPN 52 North Bengkulu in the 2024/2025 academic year. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of two classes: the experimental class received instruction using educational videos, while the control class was taught using traditional methods without multimedia support. Prior to the treatment, both groups were given a pre-test to measure their initial vocabulary ability. After the intervention, a post-test was conducted to assess the students’ vocabulary improvement. The data analysis revealed a significant increase in the post-test scores of the experimental group compared to the control group. This indicates that the use of video-based multimedia effectively enhances students’ vocabulary comprehension and retention. Additionally, video media improved students’ learning motivation and engagement during the instructional process. These findings recommend the integration of multimedia as an innovative strategy in English language teaching, particularly in vocabulary instruction, to create a more engaging, interactive, and contextual learning experience.

Abstract

Educational strategic management plays a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of educational program implementation. One of the key aspects of this management is program indicators, which serve as measurement tools to assess the achievement of educational objectives. Program indicators in education can be classified into four main types: input, process, output, and outcome. Each of these indicators plays a distinct role in evaluating the success of an educational program. Additionally, effective indicators must meet the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) criteria to be used effectively in planning and evaluation. This study aims to analyze the operational definition of program indicators in educational management, the types of indicators used, and the characteristics of effective indicators based on the SMART principle. A literature review method was employed by analyzing various relevant academic journals. The findings reveal that implementing clear and measurable program indicators enables educational institutions to continuously improve learning systems. Moreover, examples of program achievement indicators in education show that the success of a program can be systematically measured using a data-driven approach. With appropriate indicators, education management can more easily identify the strengths and weaknesses of a program and optimize strategies for implementing educational policies. The findings conclude that program indicators are a crucial component in enhancing education quality, particularly in resource management and assessing student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research uses a library research method which analyzes how the syllabus and learning plan are designed as well as what materials are used and what approach methods are used. The aim of this research is to find out what syllabus designs, learning plans and materials and approach methods are used in the curriculum. understanding the curriculum as a systematic learning guide, preparing syllabi, and implementing innovative and contextual learning approaches. The process of developing teaching materials is carried out through the stages of analysis, design, development, evaluation and revision. It is hoped that the development of curriculum-based teaching materials will be able to create an Arabic language learning process that is more meaningful, enjoyable and in line with the demands of the digital era. So the author presents the conclusions from various sources in this article.

Abstract

The article aims to describe the reflection of National Education Day 2025 regarding the People's School and the Deep Learning Curriculum, where previous researchers have not been specific to this aspect. This research is a qualitative setting with descriptive analysis and relates it to theory. The findings show that National Education Day 2025 is a moment of deep reflection on the nature of education as a process of humanization of humans. Education is not just academic, but is a cultural means to educate the life of the nation and form an enlightened civilization. The "People's School" policy needs to be reviewed. Although the goal is noble, namely to provide access to education for children from poor families, in practice it opens up the potential to perpetuate dualism and discrimination in education. The Deep Learning curriculum is claimed to be able to answer the challenges of the 21st century through three approaches: deep understanding, mindful learning and joyful learning. The urgency of rote learning as the basis for long-term memory needs to be considered to complement the three approaches. We offer authentic assessment using various relevant methods and instruments, considering the elimination of the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) which is considered not an authentic value (pulley). The value pulley gives an inaccurate picture of student abilities, also reduces student learning motivation and triggers dishonesty.

Abstract

Low financial literacy is caused by several factors. Research related to financial literacy in the Management Study Program of the Islamic University of North Sumatra is still rarely conducted so it is necessary to discuss and analyze what factors can influence financial literacy in the study program. This study uses a descriptive research method with the research approach used by the author is quantitative research. This approach uses a quantitative approach because it uses numbers, starting from data collection, data interpretation, and presentation of results. Based on the significance value (Sig.) in the F test, it can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted. This means that Age (X1), and Parental Education Level (X2) simultaneously (together) have a significant effect on the Financial Literacy variable (Y). Based on the magnitude of the determination coefficient (R Square) of 0.902 or equal to 90.2%. This figure means that the variables Age (X1), and Parental Education Level (X2) simultaneously (together) influence the Financial Literacy variable (Y) by 90.2%. Management study program students are expected to be able to better understand Financial Literacy because this will be knowledge in the future and is also very important for the role of parents. The Adjusted R Square level reached 89.9% and the remaining 10.1% was influenced by other variables outside this regression equation or variables that were not studied or significant

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the implementation of Merdeka Curriculum in English learning at MA Raudlatul Ulum Putri, with a focus on its effect on students' creativity, interest, participation, and self-confidence. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection through observation, interviews with English teachers, several grade XI students, and the deputy head of the madrasah for curriculum, and is supported by documentation. The results showed that the Independent Curriculum is able to increase students' creativity through project-based tasks such as making posters, storytelling, and presentations. Contextual and interactive learning materials, such as the use of songs and discussion topics that are close to their lives, have succeeded in increasing interest and motivation to learn. The conducive classroom atmosphere also encourages students' active participation because they feel safe to express their opinions. Students become more confident and engaged in learning, which contributes positively to their overall academic experience and social interaction. In addition, the curriculum promotes collaboration among students, allowing them to learn from one another through group activities and peer discussions. Teachers are given greater flexibility to design learning activities tailored to students' needs, while the deputy principal for curriculum plays an important role in providing support and supervision during the curriculum transition. The study concludes that the Independent Curriculum fosters a more contextualized, participatory, and empowering learning environment. It is recommended that continuous professional development for teachers and strong managerial support be maintained to ensure sustainable curriculum implementation.

Abstract

This paper explores the integration of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction with Islamic perspectives through the Spiral Andromeda Philosophy developed by UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. Rooted in the principle of tauhid (oneness of Allah), this philosophical framework emphasizes the interconnectedness of natural sciences, social sciences, and Islamic studies. The study adopts a conceptual analysis method to examine how Islamic values, including ta'lim, tarbiyah, and ta'dib, can be embedded within EFL curriculum and pedagogy at various levels supra, macro, meso, and micro. By aligning language instruction with Quranic principles and Islamic ethics, particularly as reflected in QS. Fushshilat: 53, the approach aims to develop students who are linguistically proficient, spiritually aware, and ethically grounded. The findings highlight the potential of the Spiral Andromeda Philosophy to transform EFL classrooms into spaces for holistic education that nurture critical thinking, moral character, and intercultural communication based on Islamic values.
