Abstract

This research aims to describe the skills of opening and closing lessons when prospective science teacher students practice teaching. This experiment is included in single subject research which is analyzed descriptively-quantitatively for students who will become science teachers and take microteaching courses. A teaching skills assessment rubric was used to obtain data for this research. The results of the study show that 1) the skill of opening lessons for prospective science teacher students is in the good category for each activity, namely the lesson begins with greetings then prepares students to learn, conducts apperception and explores students' initial knowledge, and communicates learning objectives. 2) skills in closing science teacher candidate students' lessons in a good category in reflecting and concluding learning material, giving follow-up directions regarding assignments or learning material for the next meeting, and ending the lesson by giving greetings and the like.

Abstract

The low numeracy skills of students are caused by a lack of practice, the results of literature studies and interviews with class V teachers at SDN Sugihrejo 1 show that students' AKM numeracy scores are low. So, researchers are interested in creating numeracy snakes and ladders learning media for fifth grade elementary school students. The research objectives are: 1) describe the process of developing Snakes and Ladders Numeracy Learning Media for fifth grade elementary school students; 2) describe the feasibility of the Snakes and Ladders Numeracy Learning Media product for fifth grade elementary school students. This type of R&D (Research and Development) research uses a 4D model which is only carried out up to three stages of development, namely, 1) definition; 2) planning (design); and 3) development. This research resulted in 1) a development process that produced numeracy snakes and ladders learning media for fifth grade elementary school students; 2) the assessment results from 3 expert validators regarding media assessment are in the "Very Appropriate" category with an average percentage of 88%. and the assessment from the class V homeroom teacher at SDN Sugihrejo 1 got a percentage of 89%. In the content assessment by three validator lecturers, they got a percentage of 89% and the guardian teacher V SDN Sugihrejo1 got 83%, including the "Very Eligible" category. Meanwhile, the language assessment by 3 expert validators received the "Very Appropriate" category, obtaining a percentage score of 81% and the content assessment from the class V homeroom teacher at SDN Sugihrejo 1 obtained a percentage of 85%. It can be concluded that the results of the development of the numeracy snakes and ladders learning media have received the "Very Appropriate" criteria for use in learning.

Abstract

This research investigates the potential of gamification in encouraging reading motivation among English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students. Reading motivation is crucial in language learning, and gamification offers promising inenues to enhance it. The study examines both reading skills and the various factors influencing reading motivation. Utilizing a conceptual paper methodology, this research systematically analyzes existing literature, theories, and concepts related to gamification and reading motivation in EFL learning, providing a comprehensive synthesis that forms the basis for understanding the potential impact of gamification on enhancing reading motivation among students. The synthesis of findings indicates that gamification positively impacts EFL learners’ reading motivation by fostering greater involvement, independence, and belief in their reading abilities. By incorporating game elements like points, badges, and leaderboards, this study reveals that through gamification in reading activities, learners not only achieve a sense of progress and competition but also overcome challenges like lack of interest, self-confidence, and autonomy in EFL reading, ultimately fostering increased motivation.

Abstract

The purpose of implementing classroom action research activities is to provide an explanation of the process of implementing class visits as an effort to improve the ability of Civics Subject Teachers using learning teaching aids. This research method is Classroom Action Research with four main steps, namely: action planning, action implementation, observation and reflection. The results showed that the ability of teachers in learning planning using learning aids in the initial condition only reached an average number of 57.58 with less criteria and the first cycle increased to 68.18 in sufficient criteria and in the last cycle to 80.30 in very good criteria, and individually per teacher in the initial condition no teacher was declared complete, increased to 5 teachers or 45.45% and in the last cycle to 100%, and the ability of teachers in the implementation of learning using learning aids in the initial condition only reached an average of 59.22 with less criteria and the first cycle increased to 69.57 in sufficient criteria and in the last cycle to 84.22 in very good criteria, and individually per teacher in the initial condition no teacher was declared complete, increased to 45.45% and in the last cycle to 100%.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of learning models, namely the Project Based Learning Model (PjBL) and the Multicultural Based Learning Model (PBM) on the altruism of students at Margerejo I Elementary School, Surabaya. This type of research uses experiments with two classes, namely the treatment class and the control class. The research design uses a Posttest Only Non Equivalent Group Design. The research population is elementary school students in Surabaya and the research sample is SDN Margerejo I Surabaya. Data collection techniques using Altruism questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses the T test with the SPSS program. From the results of data processing, it was concluded that there was an influence of the PjBL and PBM models on the altruism of students at SDN Margerejo I Surabaya.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe and analyze the readiness of elementary school teachers in implementing the independent curriculum. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection was carried out by conducting direct interviews with 6 elementary school teachers regarding teacher readiness in implementing the independent curriculum. The research stages consist of 1) selecting a research topic, 2) literature study, 3) research focus, 4) data collection, 5) data processing, 6) data analysis, 7) conclusions and suggestions. The results of this research are that all teachers have a positive attitude towards implementing the independent curriculum policy by participating in training held by the government and participating in training independently. However, in terms of facilities and infrastructure, there are several schools that are unable to implement the independent curriculum because they are hampered by inadequate facilities.

Abstract

Science learning aims to study natural phenomena systematically, involving high-level manipulative thinking processes to give physical meaning to natural phenomena around us. The main problem in science learning is students memorize science concepts, they need to be trained to solve problems and interpret natural phenomena in everyday life. One learning approach to solving problems is the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach with the Learning Cycle strategy. The research objective is to determine the effect of the Learning Cycle with the Contextual Teaching and Learning Approach on critical thinking skills in science learning. This research uses a quasi-research method with two experimental classes. The sampling technique is cluster random sampling. The research sample was two classes in a state school in Yogyakarta. Data analysis includes the data description stage, analysis prerequisite testing stage, and hypothesis testing stage. The research results show differences in the average critical thinking skills of the Learning Cycle strategy with the CTL approach and laboratory work..

Abstract

Arabic has made a major contribution to the development of the Malay language (Indonesia and Malaysia). The influence of Arabic can be seen from the large amount of vocabulary that has been absorbed and documented in books and dictionaries. Besides documented vocabulary, Arabic also influences the tradition of giving proper names among Indonesian and Malaysian people. However, data and analysis examining Arabic absorption names are still limited. This article aims to reveal and describe the phenomenon of absorption of al-'alam al-Murtajal and al-'alam al-Manqul, namely Arabic names and their vocabulary in the names of Indonesian and Malaysian people. This research is qualitative-descriptive, where the primary data sources are written documents and reviews of relevant literature. The results of this research show that the categories of Arabic names in the form of al-'alam al-Murtajal and al-'alam al-Manqul are absorbed and used in the names of Indonesian and Malaysian people. In the absorption process, there are two conditions, namely adoption and adaptation. The names included in al-'alam al-Murtajalwere adopted by the community without undergoing changes or shifts in terms of phonetics and spelling. Meanwhile, in al-'alam al-Manqul, adoption and adaptation processes coincide. Adopted names do not change, while adapted names change phonetics and spelling. As a result of this change, there is a semantic contradiction between the meaning of Arabic as a source language and the meaning desired by the absorbing community. Changes in letters and vowels can change the meaning from the perspective of the Arabic language, while these changes do not affect the desired meaning in the view of the people who absorb the name.

Abstract

Education is experiencing rapid development in the increasingly advanced digital era. Artificial intelligence can create a more personalized and adaptive learning system, help teachers create more effective learning content, and help students understand lecture material. Apart from that, artificial intelligence also helps in the educational administration and management process. The use of AI has a positive impact on increasing students' intellectual intelligence in completing coursework. Students can utilize artificial intelligence to get more effective assistance in understanding and carrying out academic assignments. This investigation seeks to ascertain how the application of artificial intelligence affects the intellectual intelligence of PAI students at Zainul Hasan Genggong Islamic University in Probolinggo. Using a population of 87 students from the 2020 Islamic Religious Education Study Program (PAI), this research used associative quantitative methodology. Because the population is less than 100, this research uses a census sampling method, namely all students are sampled. A questionnaire was used to collect data, and SPSS 25 edition programming was used to carry out normality tests and simple linear regression analysis. The results of the analysis show that for the 2020 class of PAI Zainul Hasan Genggong Islamic University Probolinggo students, the application of AI had an influence on intellectual intelligence by 57.1%, and the remaining 42.9% was influenced by other factors. Therefore, the use of artificial intelligence has a significant influence on the intellectual intelligence of PAI students at Zainul Hasan Genggong Islamic University, Probolinggo.

Abstract

The learning model is a factor that can influence learning outcomes, so in order to achieve maximum learning outcomes, teachers must be able to select and define the appropriate learning model. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the realistic mathematics model on student learning outcomes. This research uses an experimental research design. The population of this study is all fifth-grade classes at SD Negeri Kembangan Utara 06 Pagi, with VA class as the control group and VB class as the experimental group. The research sample consists of 64 respondents. The learning outcomes test used is a multiple-choice pretest and posttest. The result of this research shows that there's implementation of realistic mathematics learning model has an influence on learning outcomes in mathematics. Based on the t-test analysis, the research findings show a significant effect of the realistic mathematics learning model on mathematics learning outcomes, therefore, the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted.
