Abstract

This study examines how Gen Z adult Muslims navigate digital economy trends by analyzing the influence of Islamic religiosity on e-entrepreneur intentions, with attitudes, perceived behavioral controls, and subjective norms as mediating variables based on Planned Behavior Theory (SDP). A quantitative cross-sectional survey was conducted with 387 Gen Z adult Muslim respondents recruited through purposive, convenience, and snowball sampling from selected Indonesian urban centers in Java and Sulawesi. Data were collected using a structured 5-point Likert scale questionnaire (22 items) and analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS 4.0. All seven hypotheses are supported. Islamic religiosity has a positive and significant direct effect on e-entrepreneurial intentions (t = 8.828, p < 0.001). Attitudes (t = 5.776, p < 0.001), perceived control of behavior (t = 4.803, p < 0.001), and subjective norms (t = 3.889, p < 0.01) also significantly predicted intention. Attitudes (indirect effects = 0.198), perceived control of behavior (0.163), and subjective norms (0.109) partially mediated the religiosity-intention relationship because the direct path from Islamic religiosity to intention remained significant. The model explains 48.3% of the variance in e-entrepreneurship intentions. These findings should be interpreted in the context of adult Muslim Gen Z respondents from specific Indonesian cities and should not be generalized to all Indonesian youth, rural populations, other religious groups, or developed country contexts. The cross-sectional design limits causal inference. Practically, universities, Islamic boarding schools, policymakers, and Islamic entrepreneurship institutions must integrate Islamic ethical values, digital skills, and community support into digital entrepreneurship programs. This study expands the SDGs by positioning Islamic religiosity as a religious-based cognitive antecedent of e-entrepreneurship intentions among Gen Z adult Muslims in Indonesia. It contributes to the theory of digital entrepreneurship in an Islamic context and offers evidence for value-based entrepreneurship education and policy design.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic ethics in shaping and transforming the quality of public space using a spatial sociology perspective. The unit of analysis is the relationship between ethical values, social practices, and the formation of urban public space. This aligns with recent studies on public space trends, which indicate a shift in focus from a normative approach to a critical-interdisciplinary approach that integrates spatial, cultural, and religious elements. This study employed a quantitative approach with survey data collected from 200 respondents living in various locations in Makassar. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression to assess the influence of Islamic ethics and social practices on the quality of public space. The results of the study indicate that the level of Islamic Ethics (Mean = 4.12 – High) and Social Practices (Mean = 3.95 – High) are classified as high, while the Quality of Public Space is in the medium–high category (Mean = 3.78). The research instrument is declared valid (r > 0.30) and reliable (Cronbach's Alpha of 0.89; 0.87; and 0.85, respectively). The regression model also meets the assumptions of normality, linearity, freedom from multicollinearity, and homoscedasticity. The main findings indicate that Islamic Ethics (X) and Social Practices (Z) have a positive and significant effect on the Quality of Public Space (Y). This indicates that increasing the internalization of Islamic ethical values and good social practices will be followed by an increase in the quality of public space. This study questions the importance of integrating ethical values into urban planning and public space planning. This study finds that improving the quality of public space is not simply about strengthening public ethical awareness and social behavior, but requires an adequate institutional framework, spatial policies, and infrastructure. This study underscores the importance of integrating Islamic ethical principles into spatial sociology, emphasizing a relational model that connects values, social practices, and the production of public space. Furthermore, this study supports the global discourse on post-secular urbanism by highlighting the importance of Islamic ethics as a conceptual framework for developing inclusive and sustainable public spaces.

Abstract

This study examines a structural paradox in Indonesia’s food system in which the halal dimension has been fully institutionalized to ensure the legality of consumption, while the thayyib dimension, which concerning the quality of consumption, remains underdeveloped, despite both being consistently enjoined together in Islamic dietary prescriptions. The study aims to construct a normative justification for the institutionalization of thayyib as a regulatory instrument that operates alongside halal within Indonesia’s food governance system. The study employs a normative-conceptual approach, drawing on contemporary maqāṣid al-sharīʿah and the diyānatan–qaḍāʼan distinction in the fiqh tradition. These frameworks are used to construct a dual-legitimacy model that integrates religious obligation (diyānatan) with state-enforceable legal obligation (qaḍāʼan). The study finds that the institutionalization of thayyib can be normatively justified through a model grounded in three cumulative conditions: the presence of public interest, the insufficiency of voluntary moral compliance, and the availability of institutional enforcement capacity. This model also provides a generalized evaluative framework for assessing the legitimacy of state intervention in other Islamic norms that currently operate primarily at the moral level. This study is limited to a normative-conceptual framework and does not develop a technical regulatory design or empirically test consumer responses. The applicability of the model beyond the Indonesian context requires further investigation. This study contributes by operationalizing the diyānatan–qaḍāʼan distinction as a public policy legitimacy framework and extending maqāṣid al-sharīʿah into the domain of food regulation. It advances a dual-legitimacy model and proposes a thayyib label placed alongside the halal label on food packaging as a concrete policy instrument.

Abstract

This systematic literature review examines the reported pedagogical outcomes and evidence strength of digital and technology-enhanced learning in Islamic Religious Education (IRE), with particular attention to how digital interventions operate across educational contexts, mechanisms, and outcomes. Using PRISMA procedures, this study reviewed Scopus-indexed articles published between 2018 and 2025. Forty-three studies meeting the inclusion criteria were synthesized through the CIMO framework, covering Context, Intervention, Mechanism, and Outcome. The studies generally reported promising short-term improvements in cognitive achievement, reflective thinking, interpretation literacy, worship-related motivation, learner engagement, teacher TPACK, and digital competence. However, because many included studies used short-term interventions, self-reported data, or designs with limited control of confounding variables, these findings should be interpreted as indicative rather than conclusive evidence of sustained pedagogical effectiveness. The findings are limited by the dominance of short-term studies, self-reported data, and Scopus-based coverage, which may underrepresent regional and non-indexed scholarship. This review contributes a CIMO-based synthesis of digital IRE and identifies TPACK+E, digital tabayyun, and scholarly oversight of AI as conceptual directions emerging from patterns across the reviewed studies for ethically grounded Islamic digital pedagogy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of educational services at Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Al-Muhajirin by examining several dimensions of service quality, including reliability, tangibles, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy, in order to identify factors affecting student and parent satisfaction. This research employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological study approach. The informants in this study consisted of the principal, teachers, and parents of students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis process involved data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. To ensure data validity, the study applied source triangulation, technical triangulation, and member checking techniques. The findings indicate that the quality of educational services at MTs Al-Muhajirin has not yet fully met students’ and parents’ expectations. While responsiveness, assurance, and empathy were generally satisfactory, improvements are still needed in teacher reliability and the adequacy of educational facilities, particularly classrooms and library services. These findings suggest the need for continuous efforts to enhance overall service quality. The findings suggest that improving educational service quality requires strengthening teacher reliability, upgrading educational facilities, and enhancing student support services. The study also highlights the importance of continuous evaluation and stakeholder involvement in improving service quality and increasing student and parent satisfaction in Islamic educational institutions. This study contributes to the discourse on educational service quality in Islamic educational institutions by providing an in-depth phenomenological analysis of service dimensions at the madrasah level. The findings offer practical insights for improving educational service management to achieve greater student and parent satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development strategy of Tamborasi River halal tourism, examine its impact on the microeconomic conditions and welfare of local communities in Tamborasi Village, and explore the tourism development strategy from an Islamic perspective. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis to identify tourism development strategies, economic impacts, and the implementation of Islamic values in tourism management. The research results show that Tamborasi River tourism has significant potential for further development due to its unique appeal as the world's shortest river, supported by adequate infrastructure and effective promotional strategies. Tamborasi River tourism development offers promising potential for businesses, with revenues that can continue to grow along with increasing visitor numbers. From an Islamic perspective, the tourism development strategy emphasizes the provision of worship facilities, halal food services, environmental cleanliness, and quality services based on sharia principles. The findings imply that the development of Tamborasi River halal tourism can serve as a strategic instrument for strengthening local economic activities through the empowerment of MSMEs, job creation, and community participation. The study also highlights the importance of improving Muslim-friendly tourism facilities, strengthening halal certification support for local businesses, and enhancing collaboration among local governments, tourism managers, and community stakeholders to ensure sustainable and inclusive halal tourism development. This study contributes to the literature on halal tourism development by integrating microeconomic community impacts with Islamic tourism principles in the context of a unique coastal tourism destination. The research also provides practical insights for policymakers and tourism managers in developing sustainable and community-based halal tourism destinations.

Abstract

This study developed a Technology-Integrated Digital Islamic (Tech-DI) model for an Islamic Education Management course at Muhammadiyah University of Bima. The model responds to fragmented platform use, uneven digital readiness, and the need to align educational technology with Islamic ethical commitments. A qualitative developmental design adapted the ADDIE cycle. Evidence was drawn from observation, interviews, questionnaires, focus group discussions, and documents involving 45 undergraduate students, two course lecturers, and seven academic and learning-technology personnel. The analysis identified inconsistent use of learning platforms, varied lecturer and student capability, and limited use of learning data for formative support. The resulting Tech-DI model comprises value-aligned governance, LMS orchestration, digital-competence scaffolding, collaborative feedback, and ethical learning analytics. Implementation evidence indicated more organized material access, participation, academic communication, and formative monitoring. The model is context-specific and requires multi-site validation before broader claims are made. Rather than treating technology as a stand-alone medium, the model embeds digital learning in Islamic educational management, institutional governance, and learner agency.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of behavioristic conditioning in tahfidz education within a philanthropic pesantren serving exclusively yatim (orphaned) and dhu’afa (economically disadvantaged) santri. It examines how philanthropic mechanisms function as enablers of learning readiness and how they interact with behavioristic principles in shaping memorization outcomes for underprivileged learners. Employing a qualitative single-case study design at Pondok Pesantren Tahfidz Al-Qur'an (PPTQ) Habiburrohman, Bandung, data were collected through purposive sampling involving institutional leaders, tahfidz instructors, and santri. Instruments included semi-structured interviews, participant observation of ziyadah, muroja’ah, and daily activities, as well as analysis of institutional documents. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model with source, method, and time triangulation. Behavioristic conditioning is systematically applied through the ziyadah-muroja’ah system (Law of Exercise), reward and ta’zir mechanisms (operant conditioning), and fixed daily scheduling (classical conditioning). The full-scholarship philanthropic model effectively removes financial barriers, creates psychological readiness (Thorndike’s Law of Readiness), and fosters gratitude-based intrinsic motivation that complements external reinforcement. The single-site case study limits generalizability beyond similar philanthropic tahfidz institutions. The absence of longitudinal data on post-graduation hafalan retention further constrains the findings. This research is the first to examine behavioristic conditioning specifically in a philanthropic tahfidz setting for yatim and dhu’afa santri. It introduces the concept of “philanthropic readiness engineering,” highlighting Islamic philanthropy as a behavioral intervention that enhances conditioning effectiveness for vulnerable populations.

Abstract

This research investigates the semantic complexities of Mubham al-Dalalah to determine its influence on the interpretative process of religious scriptures. It aims to explain how textual ambiguity functions within Islamic legal interpretation and contributes to maintaining legal flexibility across different temporal and social contexts. The study employs a qualitative library research methodology grounded in semantic-hermeneutic principles. Classical Usul al-Fiqh literature is integrated with modern linguistic theories, with classical treatises serving as the primary data source for analyzing four levels of semantic ambiguity. The findings classify semantic ambiguity into four categories: Khafi, Mushkil, Mujmal, and Mutashabih, each requiring a distinct level of interpretative rigor. The study demonstrates that semantic analysis transforms ambiguity from a linguistic obstacle into an opportunity for ijtihad, while contextual considerations are essential for selecting appropriate meanings consistent with divine intent and justice. Furthermore, integrating classical Islamic scholarship with contemporary linguistic approaches produces a more comprehensive understanding of religious texts. The study provides a theoretical framework for strengthening contemporary Islamic legal interpretation by combining classical Usul al-Fiqh with modern semantic analysis. It offers guidance for scholars and jurists in addressing contemporary legal and social issues while preserving fidelity to Islamic textual principles, thereby enhancing the relevance of religious interpretation in increasingly pluralistic and globalized societies. The originality of this study lies in its integration of classical Islamic semantic theory (Mubham al-Dalalah) with modern linguistic and hermeneutic approaches. By systematically conceptualizing the four hierarchical levels of semantic ambiguity within a contemporary interpretative framework, the research provides a novel analytical model that bridges traditional Islamic jurisprudence and modern linguistic scholarship.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the moral challenges experienced by students in the social media era and to reconstruct an empathy-based Islamic Religious Education (IRE) framework designed to strengthen students' resilience and spiritual awareness. The study employed a qualitative library research design by systematically examining scholarly journal articles, books, policy documents, and relevant academic literature on Islamic education, social media, empathy, resilience, and spiritual development. Data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis involving data reduction, thematic categorization, interpretation, and conceptual synthesis. The findings indicate that students' moral challenges are shaped by the interaction of weakened religious value internalization, limited social supervision, and the dominance of individualistic digital culture. Based on this synthesis, the study proposes an empathy-based learning framework consisting of dialogic learning, structured spiritual reflection, teacher role modeling, experiential social learning, and the integration of Islamic digital literacy into classroom practices. Rather than functioning solely as moral instruction, this framework positions empathy as the pedagogical foundation for nurturing students' resilience, ethical decision-making, and spiritual awareness within contemporary digital environments. This study is conceptual in nature and is based on qualitative library research; therefore, the proposed framework has not yet been empirically validated in classroom settings. Future studies are encouraged to examine its effectiveness through quantitative, mixed-method, or intervention-based research across diverse educational contexts. This study contributes a conceptual model that enriches the discourse on Islamic Religious Education by integrating empathy, resilience, spirituality, and digital literacy into a coherent pedagogical framework for the social media era, addressing a gap in previous studies that have largely examined digital literacy and moral education separately.
