Abstract

BRadicular cysts are odontogenic inflammatory cysts, which are located at the apex of non-vital teeth. Radiographically, this cyst appears as a round radiolucency with firm borders. Radicular cysts enlarge progressively asymptomatically, until the cyst becomes quite large. This case report discusses a large radicular cyst in the maxilla, which extended from the region of teeth 24 to 13 past the midline of the maxilla. Of the several treatment options available for the treatment of large radicular cysts in the maxilla, the method of enucleation combined with marsupialization and decompression while preserving the bony window as well as extraction of the infected tooth was applied to the patient in this case. This method was chosen with the aim of reducing the size of the cyst cavity and bone tissue defects, as well as triggering the growth of new bone tissue. The procedure was carried out successfully without any complications. Obturator installation was also carried out on the patient, and there was good tissue recovery after surgery

Abstract

Background:The global measles cases increased by 79% in the first two months of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, leading to an outbreak, including in Indonesia. In 2022, Indonesia reported a total of 4845 confirmed laboratory cases of measles and six deaths in 32 out of 38 provinces. Challenges related to parental trust and doubts about vaccines have raised the risk of outbreaks due to unvaccinated children.Purpose:To synthesize and critically assess parental perspectives and attitudes towards the use of Measles Rubella/MR vaccination in childrenMethods:The research method employed was a systematic literature review, conducted by using primary studies from PubMed, Proquest, and ScienceDirect with the keywords “Parent; MR Vaccine; Parental perspective or parent's decision; child” published between 2018-2023, in English, open access, and relevant to the topicResults:A total of 17,759 research articles were screened for eligibility, and 9 articles met the inclusion criteria. Based on the 9 reviewed articles, parental perspective of Measles Rubella/MR vaccination was influenced by six factors: vaccine, social, knowledge, disease, trust, and practicality. Conclusion:It is crucial to develop strategies that target vaccine trust and address sources of vaccine hesitancy. Maintaining a trusting partnership between parents, healthcare providers, and the government is essential in dispelling doubts about the benefits and safety of vaccines.

Abstract

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable disease with an increasing incidence. DM is associated with deaths caused by several complications. One of the efforts to manage DM is to control blood glucose by maintaining regular check-ups and treatment compliance. Unfortunately, many people with DM still need to visit health facilities regularly.Purpose: This study aimed to explain the factors associated with the irregularity of type 2 DM patients having check-ups at the public health center (puskesmas). Methods: This cross-sectional study used the medical record data from Grabag II Public Health Center. The subjects were 135 outpatients with type 2 DM and complete medical records. Results: The results showed that visit irregularity was significantly associated with sex (OR = 3.8; 95% CI = 1.12-12.79), distance from home (OR = 0.2; 95% CI =  0.06-0.52), and duration of diagnosis (OR = 0.3; 95% CI=  0.12-0.85), but not with age, insurance, comorbidities, and types of therapy. Conclusion: Factors associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus patients' irregular visits to Puskesmas are sex, distance from home, and duration of diagnosis. Educational interventions at all levels of society should be carried out to increase knowledge about DM and the importance of regular check-ups and medication

Abstract

Background: In Indonesia, 23.9% of adolescent women between the ages of 15 and 24 suffer from anemia. Anemia occurs at all phases of human development and is more prevalent in young women, including female students. Compliance with iron supplement consumption is a form of behavior used to prevent and treat anemia, so the tendency of young women to adhere to regular iron supplement consumption can be analyzed using the Theory of Planned Behavior.Purpose: Understanding the relationship and influence of attitudes, subjective norms, intentions, and behavioral control on female students at Al-Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School Ujung Bone's adherence to the consumption of blood-supplemented tablets to prevent anemia in 2023.Methods: A quantitative investigation employing a cross-sectional design. Chi-square is the statistical test that is used. The research instrument was a structured questionnaire form, and 120 female students served as the sample. Results: At Al-Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School Ujung Bone in 2023, there is a statistically significant relationship between attitudes, subjective norms, intentions, and behavioral control and adherence to blood-added tablet consumption. Conclusion: The majority of female pupils who adhere to the consumption of iron tablets demonstrate obedient behavior. Researchers propose that KIE can enhance the knowledge of female students. The puskesmas can provide additional health education regarding the adverse effects female students experience after taking iron tablets. Future researchers can use mixed methods by conducting FGDs with female students, instructors, and program implementers. In addition, assess Hb levels to determine the effect of taking iron tablets.
