Abstract

Improper disposal of chicken intestines waste in Batu Mila Village may generate environmental nuisance and public health risks due to unmanaged dumping practices. This community service program aimed to increase housewives’ knowledge and stimulate initial readiness for behavioral change regarding the potential utilization of chicken intestines/offal waste as a raw material for liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) through a circular economy approach. The program was delivered as an educational outreach session (counseling), not a hands-on training, and was evaluated using a one-group pretest–posttest design. Knowledge was measured with a 20-item multiple-choice instrument scored on a 0–100 scale. The results indicated a substantial improvement in mean knowledge scores from 55.3 (pretest) to 86.73 (posttest), with an N-Gain of 0.731, demonstrating high effectiveness of the outreach in strengthening participants’ understanding. These findings highlight that circular economy-based counseling can function as an important pre-adoption stage to build cognitive foundations and psychosocial readiness to reduce unsafe disposal practices and consider resource recovery options for chicken intestines/offal waste. In conclusion, the outreach effectively improved knowledge as a prerequisite for behavioral change; follow-up reinforcement and medium-term evaluation are recommended to assess knowledge retention and more stable behavioral indicators. Keywords: counseling; circular economy; chicken intestines waste; liquid organic fertilizer; pretest–posttest

Abstract

Improving community economic independence through entrepreneurship-based empowerment is one of the goals to be achieved by the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia in collaboration with Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University (UNTIRTA) through the Beginner Independent Worker Program (TKMP). This program aims to create new entrepreneurs from the unemployed, underemployed, and low-income communities. The long-term goal of this program is to encourage people not only to seek work, but to be able to create their own jobs. The community service activities in this paper aim to analyze the strength or economic resilience of the community through the optimization of the TKMP Program in Serang District, Serang City, Banten. The method used is a participatory approach with the stages of creating a Business Identification Number (NIB), financial management and marketing understanding. The results of the activity show an increase in business legal documents with NIB ownership, increased skills and increased income of participants. Community economic resilience is reflected in the adaptability, resilience, and economic transformation of participants. However, there are several obstacles, especially in the aspect of sustainable assistance, so that strengthened cooperation between the government, academics and the community is needed to support the sustainability of the program. Abstract

The low understanding of early childhood children regarding the concept of saving in rural areas is a problem that needs to be addressed through planned educational approaches appropriate to the child's developmental stage. This community service activity was carried out as part of the Student Community Service (KKM) program at PAUD Al-Fatha, Cisimeut Raya Village, Leuwidamar District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province, with the aim of instilling saving awareness and motivation from an early age in preschool-aged children. The method used was an integrated combination of play, storytelling, and direct practice. The implementation was divided into three stages: preparation, interactive seminar, and evaluation. During the seminar, children were engaged in a simulation, listened to a short story conveying the value of saving, and practiced saving directly using a piggy bank which they then brought home as a tool for daily habituation. The results showed that children responded enthusiastically to all activities, and the combined method proved effective in conveying the message about the importance of saving in a fun and memorable way. PAUD teachers and parents were also involved to ensure the continuation of saving habits after the program ended. This program demonstrates that basic financial literacy education can be implemented from an early age through creative approaches without requiring complex facilities, and has potential to be replicated in other PAUD institutions in rural areas. Abstract

The Peterpan Program (Integrated Agriculture Post-Mining Land) is a CSR initiative of PT PLN Indonesia Power UBP Suralaya which aims to utilize ex-mining land into productive land based on sustainable agriculture, livestock, and fisheries. This program integrates waste management (agriculture, livestock, households, and FABA/PLTU Ash), soil fertility restoration, and community business development. Cilegon City faces challenges in post-mining land utilization, food security needs, and environmental pressures due to energy industry activities. The Peterpan Program is presented as an innovative solution with a community development model that prioritizes community participation, waste utilization, and environmentally friendly cultivation. A community satisfaction survey was conducted to measure the suitability of Peterpan to needs, activeness in planning, implementation, evaluation, local cultural values, social, economic, justice, budget size, utilization of opportunities to express opinions, Indonesia Power commitment, ability to increase knowledge and skills, implementation, dissemination, potential selling value, income, program sustainability and positive benefits of the Peterpan Program. The methodology is structured interviews, field observations, and documentation studies. Respondents: direct and indirect beneficiary communities. The results show that the Community Satisfaction Index (CSI) is 92.5 (Very Good category). The main challenge is maintaining the sustainability of post-mining land amidst climate change, land degradation, and limited community business capital. In conclusion, the Peterpan Program has proven to have a significant socio-economic impact while maintaining environmental sustainability. The excellent satisfaction index indicates strong social legitimacy, but further synergy between actors is needed for this program to be sustainable, expandable, and become a national best practice in post-mining land management. Abstract

Banten Village is a coastal area that has historically and functionally been the center of capture fisheries activities in Serang City. The fundamental problem faced by the coastal communities of Banten Village is their high dependence on fresh fish sales. In general, most of the fish catch is sold directly to middlemen or fish traders, and only a few fishermen increase the added value through fish processing or product diversification. Diversification of fishery products through fish floss processing is an effort to increase the added value of marine products while encouraging the community to be able to produce, package, and market processed fish products independently. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR). The results show that the community service program through the development of marine products in the form of iBON (Fish Floss) implemented by the Thematic KKM Group 43 of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University in Banten Village, Kasemen District, Serang City, has succeeded in becoming a form of coastal community empowerment based on local potential. Socialization activities, demonstrations, and hands-on practice in making fish floss can improve the knowledge and skills of the community, particularly housewives, in processing seafood into hygienic, economically valuable, and long-lasting processed food products. Abstract

The goal of SDG's 1 is poverty alleviation and the goal of SDG's 2 is to end hunger. The achievement of these two targets is carried out through strengthening food security at the individual level, improving nutrition and public health, and reforming the agricultural system towards a more resilient and sustainable direction. An indicator of achieving this goal is if everyone, including the poor and those in vulnerable conditions, including pregnant women, babies, the elderly, and people with disabilities, has access to diverse, nutritious, balanced, safe, and sufficient food throughout the year, to be able to live a healthy, intelligent, active, and productive life. Food diversification is an integral part of food security both in terms of food availability, accessibility and feasibility. Banana hearts contain vitamins that are beneficial for human health such as vitamin A, B vitamins, vitamin C and contain energy, carbohydrates and fats that are beneficial for the body. The introduction of nutritious alternative foods in the form of banana heart nuggets can be an easy, cheap and affordable food alternative for the community. Abstract

Food security in Serang Regency needs to be supported by efforts to realize food diversification from the community's habit of consuming non-rice foods. Food diversification requires socialization and education efforts down to the village level. Karang Suraga Village, as one of the villages in Serang Regency, has potential local food sources such as cassava and fish, but innovation in these foods is still minimal. Demographically, the average woman in Karang Suraga Village is a housewife and actively participates in activities such as Posyandu (Integrated Health Post) and PKK (Family Welfare Movement). These two conditions present an opportunity to carry out community service focused on realizing food diversification from local foods based on women's empowerment. Women's empowerment is an effort to increase women's capacity and participation. The goal of this activity is to provide education and training for housewives to process local foods innovatively. The method used is to provide counseling on food diversification materials and practice processing local foods. The results of this activity indicate that the level of understanding of the activity targets regarding food diversification through innovation in local foods has increased 100% in all questionnaire statements during the post-test. The increased understanding of the activity's targets was facilitated by hands-on training on creating food innovations from cassava and fish into Sikalur nuggets. The results also demonstrated that training, involving women directly in creating local food innovations, can increase understanding and awareness of developing food diversification habits at the household level. Abstract

Academic Ability Test (Tes Kemampuan Akademik/TKA) was introduced as an assessment to measure students’ individual academic achievement. The successful implementation of TKA strongly depends on the readiness of teachers and students to understand the objectives, characteristics, and structure of the assessment. This community service activity aimed to improve elementary school students’ and teachers’ understanding of TKA through a socialization program. The activity was conducted at SDN Cerocoh, Serang Regency, involving 25 sixth-grade students. A one group pretest-posttest design was employed. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis by calculating the mean scores and N-Gain to determine the improvement in participants’ understanding, while a Likert-scale questionnaire was used to examine participants’ responses to the activity. The results indicated an increase in participants’ knowledge and highly positive responses toward the socialization program. These findings suggest that TKA socialization is effective in enhancing participants’ understanding and providing a positive learning experience, indicating its potential for sustainable implementation. Abstract

Cooperatives are a strategic pillar of the people's economy for village economic independence, yet they often face obstacles in capital expansion and managerial resilience. The Merah Putih Village Cooperative in Banyumas Regency experienced stagnation due to conventional management patterns and limited management competence in communicating business potential to external partners. This community service activity aims to increase management capacity through the integration of proactive strategies in the form of pitch deck preparation and defensive strategies in the form of risk mitigation. The method used is Participatory Technological Development (PTD) which includes the stages of problem identification, educational workshops, guided practical assistance, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The results show a significant transformation in the management's financial and digital literacy, validated by an average score increase of 45%. Beyond technical improvements, this activity triggered a mindset shift among managers into visionary social business managers, capable of constructing accountable business narratives and systematically identifying critical operational risk points. The synergy between business negotiation skills and risk management serves as a prototype for professional, transparent, and competitive rural cooperative governance in Banyumas Regency. Keywords: Village Cooperative; Pitch Deck, Risk Mitigation, Economic Empowerment, Banyumas
