Abstract

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SOROGAN METHODS FOR SANTRI   ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL IN CLASSICAL ISLAMIC BOOK (KITAB KUNING). This study is to investigate the quality of students' literacy of Kitab Kuning through the Sorogan method. To collect the data, observation was conducted in twenty Pesantren in West Java and in-depth interviews with Kiai, santri, alumni, and some local societies around the pesantren. The data collected was then analyzed with a descriptive narrative. This study found that the level of santri’s literacy to understand Kitab Kuning decreased. It was aligned with the change of teaching methods from the Sorogan to the classical method. This issue has a negative impact on the process of transferring knowledge such as misconception to understand Islamic law.

Abstract

Secara politis dan yuridis eksistensi madrasah sebagai lembaga pendidikan semakin kokoh dengan keluarnya Undang-Undang No. 2 Tahun 1989 dan Undang-Undang No. 20 Tahun 2003  beserta berbagai regulasi turunannya.  Satu sisi regulasi tersebut telah menghantarkan madrasah pada posisi setara dan sederajat bahkan sama dengan sekolah umum. Namun pada sisi lain kedudukan tersebut menghadapkan madrasah pada tantangan dan dilema yang sulit terutama bila dikaitkan dengan kondisi objektifnya. Dampak secara umum dari status baru tersebut, setidaknya menurut beberapa kalangan tertentu, adalah menurunnya kemampuan/penguasaan ilmu agama para lulusan madrasah. Model Penguatan Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dengan mengadopsi sistem pendidikan pesantren ini secara konseptual merupakan manifestasi dari divinity based education.  Secara teknis model ini mengadopsi konsep boarding school  dan/atau  full days school. Dengan konsep ini diharapkan tidak akan ada lagi kendala keterbasan waktu untuk proses pendidikan dan pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada kualitas. Karena dengan konsep ini pendidikan dan pembelajaran di MA tidak hanya dalam formal kurikulum tetapi juga hidden curriculum. Berangkat dari realitas objektif dan tipologi MA di Kudus, Model Penguatan Madrasah Aliyah Berbasis Pesantren sebagai model yang ditawarkan sebagai hasil dari penelitian ini dikelompokkan  ke dalam tiga model, yaitu: (1) Madrasah Pesantren (MP), (2) Madrasah Lingkungan Pesantren (MLP), dan (3) Madrasah Sistem Nilai Pesantren (MSNP).  Untuk implementasi tiga model tersebut bersifat alternatif sesuai dengan konteks dan kapasitas masing-masing MA. From political and regulatory viewpoints, the existence of Madrasahs as educational institutions get stronger with the issue of Regulation No. 2 Year 1989 and Regulation No. 20 Year 2003 and their derivative regulations. On the one hand, the regulations have helped facilitate the madrasahs get equal footing with public schools – even to some enjoy equal status  with public schools – and on the other hand, this new position confronts madrasahs with the challenges due to the fact that many of them have inferior resources. Conceptually, this Islamic boarding-based madrasah model is manifestation of divinity based education concept. Technically, this model adopt concept boarding school and/or full-day school. With this model, it is hoped that there will no more limitation of time to offer quality teaching and education. This model will not only let the madrasahs offer formal curriculum but hidden curriculum as well. Departing from the objective realities and the typology of madrasah aliyah in Kudus, the Islamic boarding-based madrasah as a model offered in this study is classified into three different models, i.e. (1) Pesantren (Islamic boarding) madrasah, (2) Pesantren Environment Madrasah, (3) Pesantren Values System Pesantren. As to implement these models, it is suggested that the madrasah will choose either one of the three which suits best to their contexts and capacities.

Abstract

Indonesia education system applied at Islamic boarding schools is functioning as a medium for instilling the values of religious moderation. This methodological framework is to cultivate a generation who has those certain characters, inclusiveness, appreciation of diversity, and the capacity to coexist harmoniously in a pluralistic society. The assimilation of religious moderation values at Islamic boarding schools is reflected in formal education and informal activities as well as daily practices to equip students with tolerance, equality and a firm commitment to the national values. This study used a qualitative methodology equipped with a descriptive-analytic framework, utilizing data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The research findings could be drawn in three main conclusions. First, the application of formal and informal education strategies in the Islamic boarding school environment has included moderation (tawasuth), equality (musawamah), balance (tawazun), justice ('adl), and tolerance (tasamuh). Second, the implementation has been done through pedagogical methods, extracurricular involvement, and flag ceremonies. The research implications could be observed in students' moderate attitudes and behavior, such as four important indicators: devotion to the nation, tolerance, rejection of violence, and acceptance of cultural norms.

Abstract

Penulisan artikel ini dilatarbelakangi oleh semakin berkembangnya teknologi dan informasi yang meningkat dengan bebas. Atas dasar tersebut, penulis memandang bahwa perkembangan  teknologi ini harus dapat dimanfaatkan dengan sebaik-baiknya oleh guru dalam dunia pendidikan.  Penelitian  ini, berbentuk penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan. Penulis telah mengamati beberapa inovasi dalam pengajaran Praktik Bahasa Inggris yang diterapkan oleh beberapa dosen Bahasa Inggris di STAIN Kudus. Berbagai macam metode telah  diterapkan oleh Dosen Bahasa Inggris di STAIN Kudus dalam mengajar Praktikum Bahasa Inggris. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh berbedanya daya kreativitas masing- masing dosen, sarana atau fasilitas yang dimiliki oleh dosen atau kampus, dan yang lebih utama ialah berbedanya kompetensi dari mahasiswa tiap-tiap kelas,  prodi atau jurusan.  Sehingga metode yang dipilih pun harus disesuaikan dengan kemampuan dari  mahasiswa masing-masing kelas/prodi/jurusan.   Inovasi pembelajaran ini dimaksudkan untuk mewujudkan pembelajaran yang aktif, efektif, menyenangkan,  dan menarik bagi mahasiswa. Serta yang terpenting yaitu pesan yang ingin disampaikan dosen kepada mahasiswa dapat diterima dan dipahami.Kata kunci: inovasi, praktikum, bahasa InggrisLEARNING INNOVATION IN ENGLISH PRACTICUM CLASS IN STAIN KUDUS. The writing of this article was effected by the development of technology and information  which increasing freely. On the basis of these, the author looked at that development of this technology should be utilized with the best by the teachers in the world of education. This study  is Qualitative  research by using analytical descriptive approach. The author  had observed some innovation  in the teaching of English Practicum which has been applied by English lecturers of STAIN Kudus. A variety of methods have been applied by them in teaching English Practicum. It is influenced by a different power of creativity each lecturer, means or facilities owned by a lecturer or campus, and the more mainstream is the different competencies of students  for each class, study program  or majors. Therefore, the selected method must be adjusted with the ability of the students of each class/ study program/majors. The learning innovation  is intended to embody the learning that is active, effective, fun, and interesting for the students. Furthermore, the most important  thing is the message that will be delivered by lecturers to students can be accepted and understood.Keywords: innovation, practicum, English

Abstract

 Indonesian Muslims are faced with the realities of life that are multi-ethnic, religious, cultural and linguistic. It must be responded critically as early as possible. The understanding of diversity (multiculturalism) should truly be the foundation of all components of the Muslim community without exception for the students. Therefore this paper intends to answer 1) material content of Quran Hadith with a multicultural perspective at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Pontianak, and 2) Development and contextualization of Qur'an Hadith material in daily life. This research was categorized as field research and literature study. Data collection methods used were observation, interviews and document analysis. Data analysis was through two models, namely content analysis and Miles and Huberman's model which involved analysis steps, namely: data collection, data reduction, data display, and verification. The authors’ findings on this study are that the content of the Quran Hadith with a multicultural perspective in Madrasah Aliyah is carried out by expanding the reading, the meaning of the implementation of tolerance, social ethics, justice, deliberation / democracy concepts which are constructed from the Islamic universal values and moderation (washathiyah) so they can foster a tolerant and empathy (alturism) attitutes to human beings as a manifestation of an obedient servant.

Abstract

THE RELEVANCE OF CHARACTER EDUCATION ESTABLISHMENT METHOD IN TA’LIM MUTA’ALIM BOOK TOWARDS MODERN EDUCATION WORLD. Character education in ta’limul-muta’aalim (the method of learning) by Burhanuddin al-Zarnuji is an internalization process of character and ethic into a student. This process covers mental development based on the faith concept. The failure of character education is because of the lack of the faith and the ethic. Consequently, the character development is obstructed and even it is failed. To create character and ethic learners, Islamic education should point the aim of education on individual development who knows the position, to the God, to the society, and to themselves. Ta’limul-muta’allim formulated three important methods in character development covering body and soul,  i.e., ilqa’ al-nasihah (advisory) and affection method; Mudzakarah, Munadharah, and Mutharahah method; and mental and spiritual development method. These three methods are needed to check the relevance to current education. This library research showed that these method are still relevance to use in nowadays education.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the failure of language learning from traditional methods. This method does not provide a chance for students to practice the language that makes the alinated from the target language. On this basis, Dual-Language Sinking model was developed for language learning which will bridge learning with the daily lives of students to achieve the expected language competencies.This literature review will try to explore what language competencies are needed by students to be said as language competent users and what are the ideal patterns of language learning to develop their language competencies. Finally, the Dual-Language Sinking model will be explained as a offered model to develope language competencies and how to implement the model. The results of this study indicate that competent language users are those who are able to function their language skills and knowledge in their daily activities. To develop students who are competent in language, the learning conditions must be designed as naturally as possible as students' first language environment. This can be achieved by implementing a dual-language sinking as bilingual program. This model uses the target language as the language of instruction in learning and students' daily lives, so that students will develop their language competence through their daily habits.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship empowerment in pesantren is expected to have a positive impact, especially for santri or student. Empowerment is meaningful as an effort made by the Yanbu'ul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School Arwaniyah Foundation in introducing, fostering and developing the values of santri entrepreneurship and increasing students' interest in entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship activities conducted are expected to foster the entrepreneurial character possessed by students. Entrepreneurial character is manifested in independence and leadership. With independence and leadership, students are expected to become role models for the surrounding community. Exemplary not only because they are graduates of Islamic boarding schools that are synonymous with da'wah activities, but also exemplary in economic activities by pocketing the entrepreneurial provision they have. Another goal with the provision of entrepreneurship is to improve the life skills of students. With the life skills that are owned, santri are felt ready when they enter the workforce later. Students are expected not only to depend on certain institutions to get jobs, but also can open their own jobs. By opening their own jobs, it will certainly open employment opportunities. This certainly can absorb unemployment in the community.

Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengembangan pem- belajaran dengan metode  kontekstual. Dalam pembahasannya, kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan studi kepustakaan dengan menelaah   sumber-sumber ilmiah.   Pemilihan   metode  yang tepat   akan  mampu mengatasi  keterbatasan  pembelajaran dan  memberikan efek pada proses pembelajaran  yang akan berlangsung. Salah satu cara untuk membuat efektif  belajar belajar,  menciptakan suasana yang menyenangkan dan tidak membosankan (joyfull dan pembelajaran quantum), menyediakan pengalaman/dunia  nyata dalam pembelajaran dan menggunakan berbagai sumber belajar.  Berdasarkan penelitian  yang telah dilakukan dapat diketahui bahwa metode Contextual Teaching and Learning sangat cocok diterapkan dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam karena motode ini terfokus pada pemahaman, perkembangan  ilmu, ketrampilan dan pemahaman kontekstual peserta didik tentang hubungan mata pelajaran dengan apa yang dijumpai peserta didik dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.Kata kunci: metode, pembelajaran, kontekstualCONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING METHODS FOR  THE   DEVELOPMENT OF   ISLAMIC  RELIGIOUS EDUCATION LEARNING. This study aims to describe the learning development with cintextual method. In the implementation this study uses library research by examining  the scientific sources. The selection of an appropriate method will be able to overcome these limitations and give effect on the learning process that will take place. One of learning method to create effective learning , creating  an atmosphere of fun and not boring (joyfull and quantum learning), providing real- world experience (real world learning) and using a variety of learning resources is the method of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) or Learning in Context. Contextual Teaching and Learning methods are very suitable to be applied in the teaching of Islamic Education because it is focused  on understanding , development   of knowledge, skills and contextual understanding of the students about the subjects relationship to what students encountered in daily life.Keywords: method, contextual, learning , Islamic religious education

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education teachers as professional educators must be able to develop student religiosity in schools. This study aims to determine the correlation between PAI teacher leadership competence and student religiosity at SMK Muhammadiyah Prambanan Yogyakarta. This research is a quantitative research. The research subjects were 125 students of SMK Muhammadiyah Prambanan Yogyakarta, which were selected using proportional random sampling technique. Data was collected using psychological scale methods, interviews, and documentation. The data collection instrument test used the Validity and Reliability test, the analysis prerequisite test used the Linearity test and the Normality test. Data analysis used descriptive statistical analysis and product Moment correlation with SPSS program. The results showed: 1) the religiosity of SMK Muhammadiyah Prambanan Yogyakarta students was in the medium category. 2) The leadership competence of PAI teachers at SMK Muhammadiyah Prambanan Yogyakarta is in the medium category. 3) There is a very significant positive relationship between the leadership competence of PAI teachers and the religious behavior of students at SMK Muhammadiyah Prambanan Yogyakarta, with rxy = 0.598 and p of 0.000
