Abstract

Employee performance is a key variable in supporting the effectiveness of organizational operations, especially in the context of public services at PDAM Tirta Mahameru, Lumajang Regency. This study aims to analyze the effect of self-efficacy and compensation on employee performance with work discipline as a mediating variable. Self-efficacy is defined as an individual's belief in the ability to complete a task, while compensation includes remuneration, incentives, and facilities that function as employee motivators. This study uses a quantitative approach with a path analysis method on a population of 152 employees. Primary data were obtained through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The results of the analysis show that self-efficacy and compensation significantly affect work discipline, which in turn has a positive effect on employee performance. In addition, self-efficacy and compensation also have a significant direct effect on employee performance. Mediation analysis indicates that work discipline acts as a partial mediator in the relationship between self-efficacy and performance, while the mediation of work discipline on the relationship between compensation and performance does not show a dominant role. This finding confirms that improving employee performance can be achieved through strengthening self-efficacy, optimizing the compensation system, and developing consistent work discipline in the PDAM Tirta Mahameru environment of Lumajang Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate an effective marketing strategy to increase the number of new student enrollments at the Institute of Technology and Business (ITB) Widya Gama Lumajang. Despite having competitive advantages such as affordable tuition fees, a strategic location, and a strong entrepreneurial vision, the institution has experienced a decline in enrollment over the past five years. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research employs SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) and QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix) analyses to identify internal and external strategic factors. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving university leaders, faculty members, current students, prospective students, and parents. The findings indicate that establishing a dedicated digital content team is a top strategic priority, as social media has become the main channel through which prospective students obtain information. Additional recommended strategies include strengthening alumni and parent networks, conducting open-campus promotional events, and transforming the institution into a university to broaden academic offerings. This study concludes that market-oriented and digitally-driven marketing strategies are essential to enhancing the competitiveness of private higher education institutions amid intense educational competition

Abstract

This study explores the influence of workplace spirituality and teacher professional competence on job satisfaction among senior high school teachers in Malang City, Indonesia. In human behavior theory, the research examines how intrinsic values, professional motivation, and relational harmony within the school setting contribute to a teacher's satisfaction. Utilizing a quantitative associative causal approach, the study surveyed 176 respondents using validated instruments and analyzed the data using Partial Least Squares (PLS). The findings reveal that workplace spirituality characterized by meaningful work, sense of community, and value alignment significantly impacts job satisfaction, primarily through the sense of togetherness among teachers. Likewise, teacher professional competence, comprising motives, self-concept, knowledge, and skills, also positively affects job satisfaction, with knowledge as the most dominant contributor. Moreover, the study highlights the mediating role of organizational commitment in strengthening the relationship between workplace factors and job satisfaction. The results emphasize that enhancing workplace spirituality and professional competence can foster a more satisfying and supportive school environment. This research offers theoretical contributions to educational psychology and organizational behavior and provides practical implications for school leaders and policymakers seeking to improve teacher well-being and performance.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of emotional intelligence and managerial competencies in enhancing project manager performance, with job attitude as a mediating variable, within construction companies under the Indonesian National Construction Implementation Association in East Java. Using a quantitative approach and surveying 182 project managers, the study assesses key constructs such as emotional intelligence (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management), managerial competencies (motives, traits, self-concept, and knowledge), job attitudes (commitment, satisfaction, involvement), and project performance (quality, quantity, timeliness, and cooperation). The findings reveal that emotional intelligence significantly affects project manager performance, particularly through improved self-awareness and social relationship skills. However, managerial competencies alone do not substantially influence performance unless supported by positive job attitudes. The study confirms that job attitude is a critical bridge linking emotional intelligence to improved performance outcomes. These findings underscore the importance of soft skills development in construction project environments and offer practical insights for enhancing leadership training, team dynamics, and project success rates. The study provides strategic recommendations for organizational growth and workforce management within Indonesia’s construction sector.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of rewards, punishments, organizational commitment, and work motivation on employee performance at the Department of Agriculture and Food Security of Bondowoso Regency. The research method used a quantitative approach with OLS-based multiple linear regression analysis. A sample of 105 respondents was selected through purposive sampling, with criteria of a minimum of three years of service and civil servant status. The results showed that rewards, organizational commitment, and work motivation significantly influenced employee performance, while punishment had no significant effect. Simultaneous tests showed that all four variables together contributed significantly to improving employee performance, with work motivation being the dominant factor. The research discussion confirms that appropriate rewards, commitment to the organization, and strong motivational drive can increase employee productivity and loyalty. Conversely, punishment proved less effective because it did not always encourage positive changes in work behavior. A unique finding of this study was the insignificance of the punishment variable on performance, indicating that the sanction approach is irrelevant in the context of Bondowoso's public bureaucracy, and work motivation emerged as the primary determinant of performance improvement.
