Abstract

This study addresses the legal gap in Indonesia's employment law, where the binary classification of workers versus partners fails to protect gig economy workers amid bogus self-employment, characterized by platform control without benefits like minimum wage or severance. The objective is to propose reconstructing the legal status of dependent contractors as a sui generis category to bridge this gap. Employing a normative juridical method, the research analyzes statutes (e.g., Employment Law No. 13/2003, Job Creation Law), comparative approaches from the UK (Uber v Aslam), Canada, and Spain, and conceptual frameworks on economic dependency versus subordination. Results reveal the obsolescence of current dichotomies, advocating criteria for dependent contractors: economic reliance (>80% income from one platform), lack of tariff control, and algorithmic subjection, granting partial rights like shared social security (BPJS), unionization, and unfair dismissal protection. This reconstruction enhances worker protection without stifling business flexibility, urging amendments to foster equitable digital economy growth

Abstract

The hydrometeorological disaster that struck Sumatra in November to December 2025 claiming 1,072 lives and causing material losses of Rp68.67 trillion cannot be viewed merely as a natural phenomenon. This article analyzes the catastrophe as an ecological disaster rooted in the failure of both the state and corporations to uphold environmental sustainability. Using a normative legal research method, the study examines the state’s responsibility in issuing business permits in disaster-prone areas based on principles of good environmental governance, and evaluates the effectiveness of legal remedies through Citizen Lawsuits and Class Actions. The findings reveal systemic violations, including the neglect of Strategic Environmental Assessments (KLHS), spatial planning breaches, and weak oversight of corporate activities in upstream watershed areas, all of which have exceeded ecological carrying and assimilative capacities. In this context, the state may be held accountable for violating citizens’ constitutional rights, while corporations are subject to strict liability and the polluter pays principle. The article recommends strengthening environmental law enforcement through strategic litigation as a pathway to ecological justice and sustainable natural resource governance in Indonesia.

Abstract

Modernity has brought changes to urban social life, including the religious practices of Hindu communities at Pura Aditya Jaya Rawamangun. Technological developments, urban social dynamics, and demands for efficiency have encouraged adjustments in temple management and ritual practices. This study aims to analyze forms of temple adaptation to modernity without losing its sacred function, as well as their impact on social solidarity among Hindus. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach based on field research through in-depth interviews and direct observation. The findings show that adaptation occurs through adjustments in ritual practices, the use of information technology, more professional facility management, and the provision of worship equipment for devotees from diverse backgrounds. These adaptations do not diminish sacredness but instead strengthen the temple’s social function as a center of integration and moral development. From Emile Durkheim’s perspective, these findings indicate that religion as a social fact is adaptive and continues to play a role in fostering social solidarity and collective consciousness within modern society.

Abstract

This article examines how the motorcycle touring hobby functions as a formative arena of religious identity for Muslim youth involved in da‘wah-oriented biker communities. Contemporary Muslim youth live amidst popular street culture, digital technology, and hobby-based communities that become crucial spaces for self-expression and identity formation. In this context, several Muslim biker communities consciously integrate touring with da‘wah activities, such as observing the five daily prayers, organizing short study circles, distributing Qur’anic mushaf, and promoting ethical riding and polite communication. This study employs a qualitative–interpretive case study through in-depth interviews, participant and non-participant observation, and documentation. Data are analyzed using thick description and Clifford Geertz’s concept of religion as a system of symbols to interpret visual, verbal, and practical symbols that connect the touring hobby with religious meanings. The findings indicate that motorcycle touring becomes a medium for the internalization of Islamic values, strengthening faith, prayer discipline, control of speech and emotions, solidarity, and the construction of an identity as “Muslim bikers preaching on the road

Often arising from poor command of fundamental public speaking skills and insufficient practice opportunities, these barriers Responding to these obstacles, the Community Service Program (PKM) has been introduced to give 30 SMK Tadika Pertiwi students elementary public speaking instruction. Interactive and hands-on techniques including lesson presentation, group discussions, presentation simulations, and self-practice sessions were used in the training. Positive outcomes were achieved: pre-test and post-test ratings indicated a noticeable improvement in pupils' grasp of public speaking ideas, organizational skills, vocal quality, body language utilization, confidence level, and diminished anxiety. Most participants said they felt more ready to speak in front of their classmates after completing the program and more confident. Abstract

Islamic education aims to develop insan kamil through balanced spiritual, moral, and intellectual growth; however, this goal is often difficult to measure without proper evaluation. This study addresses the problem of how evaluation in Islamic education can be understood as a holistic and value-based assessment. The research aims to explain the essence, principles, and benefits of Islamic educational evaluation for continuous improvement. This study employs a qualitative library research method by collecting data from academic books, journals, and relevant Islamic educational literature. The findings show that Islamic education evaluation emphasizes continuity, comprehensiveness, and objectivity, covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains based on Qur’anic values. Evaluation functions not only to measure learning outcomes but also to improve teaching effectiveness and character formation. In conclusion, Islamic educational evaluation has a significant impact on developing morally upright, faithful, and competent learners in accordance with Islamic principles.

Abstract

The development of gamification-based learning media in Islamic Cultural History materials is motivated by several problems encountered in the learning process, such as students’ low learning motivation and the use of instructional media that still tends to be conventional. This condition indicates the need for innovative learning media that encourage active student participation while creating an enjoyable learning experience, particularly in the topic of Walisongo da’wah. This study aims to develop gamification-based learning media that are valid and feasible for use in the learning process. This development research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D Thiagarajan model, which consists of four main stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. However, this study was limited to the develop stage and did not proceed to the disseminate stage. The development stage was conducted through validation by material experts and media experts, followed by product revisions based on the experts’ suggestions and feedback. Data collection techniques included field observations and interviews for needs analysis, as well as validation questionnaires based on a Likert scale, which were analyzed by calculating the percentage of media feasibility. The results of the development indicate that the gamification-based learning media developed fall into the valid category according to expert assessments, with several notes for improvement. After revisions were made in accordance with expert suggestions, the developed learning media were declared feasible for use in Islamic Cultural History learning.Gamification, Islamic Cultural History, Learning Media, R&D.
