Abstract

Character-based learning assessment plays a crucial role in shaping the Pancasila Student Profile at the elementary school (SD/MI) level. This study aims to identify effective strategies for collecting character assessment data to ensure that students develop in accordance with Pancasila values. The research methods include analyzing various assessment techniques such as observation, reflection journals, interviews, and scenario-based instruments. Additionally, this study explores the role of teachers, parents, and the school environment in supporting the implementation of character assessment. The findings indicate that effective character assessment must be holistic, involve multiple stakeholders, and be conducted continuously. The main challenges in data collection include time constraints, lack of teacher training in using assessment instruments, and limited use of technology in the assessment process. Therefore, it is recommended that schools adopt a more systematic approach by integrating digital technology, strengthening teachers' capacity through assessment training, and increasing parental involvement in the assessment process. With the right strategies, character assessment can become an effective tool in strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile and shaping a generation that is ethical, independent, and critical-thinking.

Abstract

Plastic has become an inseparable part of human life today. Various products used by humans in their daily lives are often found to come from plastic. The use of plastic is growing and its utilization is increasingly widespread in the field of life so that if this waste is not managed properly it will cause pollution. Therefore, this program aims to empower children at the Tunas Bangsa Orphanage, Labuhan Batu by teaching collage skills in utilizing plastic waste into a picture collage. In addition, this program also aims to introduce recycling of plastic waste by being able to select and sort waste in the surrounding environment. This training is equipped with the values of Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) such as increasing awareness of the rights and obligations of each individual to feel comfortable in the environment and maintain environmental cleanliness. It is hoped that through this program, children can develop creativity skills and play an active role in maintaining environmental cleanliness away from plastic waste. This program also opens up opportunities for them to contribute to the movement to maintain environmental sustainability far from waste.

Abstract

Identity politics in Southeast Asia has had a significant impact on the legal and state planning system. The study analyzes how exploitation of religious, ethnic, and ideological identity in politics affects various aspects, including elections, public policies, and law enforcement. The impact includes social and political polarizations, the weakening of the rule of law, discriminatory policies towards minorities, and conflicts between identity politics and human rights international standards. The response in these regions is diverse, ranging from an inclusive approach that emphasizes pluralism to a repressive approach that limits civil liberties. The study highlights the challenges in balancing group interests with the national interests, as well as the need for legal reform and political education to address political threats on stability, justice and democracy in Southeast Asia. This research also recommends harmonizing regulations, strengthening yudiative institutions, and democratic and human rights education as a solution to overcome these problems.

Abstract

Elections are a fundamental element of democratic systems, granting citizens te political right to vote and be elected. This study aims to compare the implementation of citizens’ political right in elections under presidential and parliamentary democracy systems. The research method used is normative/doctrinal/library research. This study analyzes the differences in the exercise of political rights in both systems and their impact on the quality of democracy and citizen participation. The findings indicate that the presidential system allows voters to directly elect the head of state, providing strong legitimacy but posing a risk of political deadlock. In contrast, the parliamentary system emphasizes the election of parliament members, who then determine the head of government, offering flexibility but potentially leading to political instability. This study concludes that both systems have advantages and challenges in ensuring citizens’ political rights. Therefore, mechanisms should be developed to enhance political participation and ensure more democratic and inclusive elections.

Abstract

This article discusses how Civic Education can be a solution in facing the challenges of globalization, by instilling the values of Pancasila, love for the homeland, social responsibility, and strengthening national identity. The methods used are literature studies and qualitative analysis of various relevant sources. The results show that globalization brings a great challenge to Indonesia's national identity, especially among the younger generation. The flow of information and foreign culture that enters without borders can weaken the spirit of nationalism and local values such as mutual cooperation and tolerance. In this context, Civic Education (PKn) has a strategic role in building a strong national character and integrity. Emphasis on the importance of integrating national values in civil society is very important in forming a young generation that is resilient, critical, and ready to contribute to the global world without losing their identity as Indonesian citizens.

Abstract

Citizens' rights and obligations are the main pillars in building a balanced and just national and state life. In the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, rights and obligations are strictly regulated to ensure the creation of order, welfare, and active participation of citizens in national development. However, in its implementation, there are still inequalities, especially the lack of public awareness of the implementation of obligations, such as obedience to the law, defending the country, and respecting the rights of others. This study aims to examine how the implementation of citizens' rights and obligations takes place and their impact on community, national, and state life. The method used is a literature review with a descriptive qualitative approach. The results of the study indicate that there is a need to strengthen civic education, increase exemplary behavior from the government, and enforce fair law in order to create a balance between rights and obligations according to the mandate of the 1945 Constitution. Collective awareness between the government and citizens is very necessary in order to achieve a democratic and civilized life order.

Abstract

Radicalism among the younger generation poses a serious threat to national unity, especially in the digital era that facilitates the spread of extremist ideologies. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with literature review as the data collection technique to analyze the role of civic education in preventing radicalism. The findings show that civic education can shape character, instill values of tolerance, democracy, and nationalism, and enhance students’ critical thinking skills in filtering radical information. Its implication is that civic education plays a strategic role as an ideological shield, effectively protecting youth from radical influences and encouraging their active contribution to preserving national unity.
