Abstract

Civic Education (CE) plays a crucial role in shaping national character amidst the challenges of disintegration in the era of globalization. This study aims to analyze the extent of Civic Education's influence on strengthening students' sense of nationalism and the strategic role of this subject in fostering a sense of tolerance within the diverse Indonesian society. The method used in this study is a literature review with a qualitative descriptive approach. The research findings indicate that an effectively implemented Civic Education curriculum can significantly enhance patriotism, awareness of rights and obligations, and pride in national identity among students. Furthermore, CE functions as an instrument of value education that teaches democratic principles and respect for differences in ethnicity, religion, race, and inter-group relations. Through an understanding of national insight and national integration, students are encouraged to develop inclusive and moderate attitudes. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that the success of Civic Education is measured not only by cognitive mastery but by the transformation of student behavior that reflects a high spirit of nationalism and the practice of tolerance in daily life, thereby creating social harmony within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of civic education in strengthening digital ethics and enhancing students’ social awareness in the era of social media. The rapid development of information technology has created both opportunities and challenges, particularly for students as active social media users. Using a qualitative approach, this research employed in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and participatory observations involving students who had completed civic education courses. Thematic analysis was applied to identify behavioral patterns, which were then categorized based on their relevance to digital ethics and social awareness.The findings reveal that civic education plays a significant role in shaping students’ digital behavior to be more ethical, critical, and responsible. Students with strong civic knowledge tend to be more cautious in sharing information, respect privacy, and engage actively in constructive discussions. Moreover, social media serves as an effective platform for fostering solidarity and social concern, although challenges such as misinformation and hate speech remain prevalent. This study highlights the urgent need to integrate civic education with digital literacy, enabling students to navigate the complexities of the digital world wisely.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of value education in Civic and Pancasila Education learning in the digital era within the context of SMA Negeri 3 Berau. Digital transformation has changed students’ learning patterns, social interactions, and ways of understanding civic realities. However, this development also presents several challenges, such as weak digital communication ethics, the spread of unverified information, plagiarism, and declining academic responsibility. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and analysis of school documents. The research informants consisted of the vice principal for curriculum affairs, Civic Education teachers, guidance and counseling teachers, student council representatives, and students. The findings show that value education in Civic Education functions as a digital moral compass for students. The internalized values include digital responsibility, academic honesty, communication ethics, critical awareness of hoaxes, cooperation, discipline, democratic tolerance, religiosity, and integrity. The learning strategies implemented include digital case analysis based on Pancasila values, ethical dialogue, digital citizenship projects, and reflective habituation. This study concludes that value education in Civic Education not only strengthens students’ civic understanding but also shapes their character so that they are able to use technology critically, politely, responsibly, and in accordance with Pancasila values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the e-Court system at the Singaraja District Court in accordance with Supreme Court Regulation (PERMA) Number 7 of 2022, identify the supporting and inhibiting factors influencing its implementation, and evaluate its effectiveness in realizing the principles of simple, fast, and low-cost justice. This research employs a normative legal research method using both statute and conceptual approaches. Legal materials were collected through library research, including legislation, legal doctrines, scholarly publications, and relevant court regulations, and were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method. The findings reveal that the implementation of the e-Court system at the Singaraja District Court is generally consistent with the provisions of PERMA Number 7 of 2022, encompassing e-Filing, e-Payment, e-Summons, and e-Litigation services. The system has contributed to improving judicial efficiency, transparency, and accessibility by simplifying case administration and reducing procedural delays. Nevertheless, several obstacles continue to affect its optimal implementation, particularly limited information technology infrastructure, unstable internet connectivity, and low levels of digital literacy among non-advocate users. Based on George Edward III’s policy implementation theory, the communication and resource dimensions emerge as the most influential factors determining implementation success, highlighting the importance of effective socialization, adequate infrastructure, and continuous capacity building to enhance the sustainability and effectiveness of electronic court services.

Abstract

The aim of this research is the low learning motivation of students in Pancasila and Citizenship Education courses due to teaching methods that are still traditional and less participatory. This research aims to increase student learning motivation by utilizing technology-based learning tools such as Curipod and Quizizz. The two Classroom Action Research (PTK) design cycles used in this research are the planning, action implementation, observation and reflection stages. Class IX.6 students of SMP Negeri 1 Gorontalo City were used as research subjects. Data collection techniques include observation, surveys and recording. Based on the research results, students' learning motivation increased significantly from 64.04% in the pre-cycle to 82.22% in the first cycle and 82.57% in the second cycle. These findings indicate that the use of interactive digital learning materials can increase students' levels of activity, excitement, and engagement. The results of this research show that, despite continuing to emphasize technology readiness and efficient learning management, incorporating technology into the classroom can increase student interest and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Democracy is a system of government that places the people as the highest authority in political decision-making. The concept of democracy is not only related to electoral mechanisms, but also includes values such as freedom, equality, participation, and respect for human rights. This paper aims to comprehensively examine the meaning of democracy, its defining characteristics, the aspects that shape the democratic system, its fundamental principles, and its implementation in national and civic life. The characteristics of democracy can be seen in the existence of popular sovereignty, government based on the rule of law, and the protection of citizens’ rights. The aspects of democracy include political, legal, and social dimensions that are interconnected. Democratic principles such as freedom of expression, equality before the law, and active public participation serve as the main foundation in its practice. In its implementation, democracy requires a balance between the rights and obligations of citizens, as well as an active role of the government in ensuring justice and welfare. Therefore, democracy is expected to create a just, prosperous, and civilized society.
