Abstract

This research aims to determine the feasibility of the monopoly media "MAK (FUN MATHEMATICS" ROUND" made from loose parts for children aged 5-6 years. This research is research using research and development methods or what is called Research and Development (R&D) using a development model ADDIE. The subjects of this research were group A at Darul Hikmah Kindergarten, totaling 10 children consisting of 5 boys and 5 boys. women. In this study, media validation and observation validation of learning outcomes were carried out first by material experts and media experts, after that the validator produced an evaluation of the media and observation sheets used. The aim was to test the suitability of the media used. Research instruments used in the research This is an observation sheet that has been validated by experts. The indicators of the development of mathematical logic studied are knowing simple classifications, knowing numbers, knowing arithmetic operations, knowing geometric shapes. Learning media with the MAK ROUND monopoly game using loosepart media which was developed for group A2 children at DARUL HIKMAH Kindergarten has been validated by experts and received a percentage score of 92.72%. This shows that the MAK ROUND monopoly is declared worthy of being tested. Before being given treatment, the average acquisition of mathematical logic skills was below average, namely 66.8% and was declared incomplete. This means that children's mathematical logic is still low. After being given treatment, the average gain in mathematical logic skills in group A2 children increased to 84.7%. This shows that learning media using the MAK ROUND monopoly game is effective in improving mathematical logic skills in group A children aged 5-6 years.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe students' ability to think creatively when facing SPLDV problems in certain contexts using the help of Geogebra. This research is qualitative research that uses the case study method to deeply understand students' creative thinking abilities. Two grade VIII junior high school students with varying initial ability levels of SPLDV were the subjects of this study. The instruments used include the SPLDV initial ability test, creative thinking ability test using Geogebra, and interview guidelines. The creative thinking test consists of four question points that measure indicators of fluency, flexibility, and novelty, with a completion time of 45 minutes. The results showed that students with high abilities could achieve the creative category (TKBK 3) because they were able to meet all indicators of fluency and novelty. Students can provide various alternative answers and use various logical strategies in solving problems. On the other hand, students with low abilities tend to fall into the less creative category (TKBK 1) because they can only meet the fluency indicator. Although subjects can provide a variety of alternative answers that are appropriate, they have not been able to describe the use of diverse strategies in solving problems.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the representational abilities of junior high school students in solving ethnomathematics-based mathematical problems. The newest thing is to see the representation of junior high school students when working on ethnomathematics-based mathematical problems, namely the engklek game. The type of research carried out in this research is qualitative research. Data collection methods use tests and interviews. The subjects in this research were MTs 1 Putri Annuqayah students whose address is Jalan Komplek PP Annuqayah Guluk-guluk Sumenep class IX Amazing, 2 students with high mathematical abilities and 2 students with low mathematical abilities. The results of the research show that students with high mathematical abilities are able to fulfill all indicators of representational abilities, namely verbal, visual and symbolic representational abilities, while students with low mathematical abilities are only able to fulfill one indicator of representational abilities, namely symbolic representational abilities.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to overcome the problem of mental retardation in developing mathematical potential and talent, especially abilities in social arithmetic by providing learning media adapted to the characteristics of mentally retarded students in the form of 3D comics with Indonesian cultural nuances based Technology Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) assisted by money pyramid media. This is because 11 of the 13 students are still not familiar with the new currency issued by Bank Indonesia, making it difficult for them to spend money. 3D comic media contains stories about traveling to three places in the archipelago which include Bali, Yogyakarta and Bogor, the embossed effect on the paper gives a three-dimensional impression so that it attracts the attention of mentally retarded students to learn using 3D Comics. The money pyramid media is used as the initial foundation for introducing money from one thousand to one hundred thousand denominations to mentally retarded students. The subjects in this research were 13 mentally retarded students in class X C using research methods in the form of experiments. Based on the results of research conducted using data processing, it was found that there were differences in the learning outcomes of mentally retarded students before and after being given treatment in the form of using 3D comic media with nuances of Indonesian culture and money pyramids. The amount of effectiveness in using media influences the learning outcomes of mentally retarded students by 67% in the quite effective category.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to produce Student Worksheets based on Problem Based Learning to improve student learning outcomes in junior high schools. This research uses the 4 D device (FOUR D MODEL). The development procedure includes analysis, design, development and implementation stages. The test subjects in this research were 16 class VII junior high school students consisting of 8 girls and 8 boys. Data collection was carried out using validation and test techniques. Based on the results of data analysis, student worksheets based on Problem Based Learning can be applied and carried out validly. Based on the results of the development research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model learning tools meet the very valid category with an average value for the lesson plan validator of 3.6 in the very valid category, student worksheets of 3.5 in the very valid category, response teachers towards student worksheets 3.2 in the very valid category, student responses to student worksheets 3.7 in the very valid category, the results of student worksheets is 3.1 in the very valid category, and the group test results is 3.5 in the very valid category.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of identifying errors that occur when students solve composition function problems by paying attention to gender differences. The research subjects were four students of class XI, two male students and two female students. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. Tests and interviews were conducted to collect data. The data were then analyzed by examining the students' answer sheets and classifying the errors made into four types, namely concept, principle, fact, and operation errors. The findings showed that male students made more errors than female students, especially in the category of fact and operation errors. Fact errors made by male students are errors in writing arithmetic operation signs, this is because male students do not understand the concept of multiplication and addition operation signs. While the error in determining the final answer was caused by an error in the previous process, where male students could not do the calculation correctly so that they got the wrong final result. The conclusion of this study confirms that female students have an advantage in the ability to solve math problems compared to male students.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the mathematical problem solving abilities of class VIII middle school students based on the student's gender. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects in this research were 23 students in class VIII of Malang National Middle School, consisting of 11 male students and 12 female students. Then 6 subjects were selected, namely 3 men and 3 women who had mathematical problem solving abilities in the high, medium and low categories. The research was carried out in the second semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. Analysis was carried out by giving a written test in the form of 2 essay questions. The material tested is problem solving questions related to the Pythagorean theorem. The results of the analysis of students' problem solving abilities were obtained based on the results of student work and interviews. The results of this study indicate that female students' mathematical problem solving abilities are better than male students in solving problems related to the Pythagorean theorem.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop a School Mathematics Study module based on Problem Based Learning that is valid and effective. This Problem Based Learning-based module emphasizes problem solving in understanding mathematical concepts. The School Mathematics Study Module based on Problem Based Learning refers to the 4D development model, which is only limited to the Develop stage. The data collection instrument consists of a validation sheet and problem solving test questions. The trial was carried out on students of the Universitas Insan Budi Utomo Mathematics Education study program who were taking the School Mathematics Studies course. The results of data analysis show that the module fulfill the criteria for validity and effectiveness. Expert validation and module testing. From the assessment results from two experts, an average score of 3,2 was obtained, which is a very valid criterion.

Abstract

This type of study was quantitative with quasi-experimental method that aims to discover the effect of contextual teaching and learning (CTL) on students’ relational understanding ability and how much the effect is. This study was posttest only group control design. It was conducted at SMP Negeri in Tangerang. The sample of this study were choosen randomly by cluster random sampling technique, which is students of grade VIII. The experimental class consisted of 35 students that applied CTL approach, while the control class consisted 34 studensthat applied conventional study. Students’ relational understanding ability be measured with the test instrument that contain five essay questions of Pythagorean Theorem that has been tested valid and realiable. Based on the result of statistical hypothesis test using t-test, obtained that the average of students’ relational understanding ability that applied CTL approach is higher than the average of students’ relational understanding ability that applied conventional learning. This show that there is the effect of contextual teaching and learning approach on students’ relational understanding ability. As for the value of Cohen’s effect size, obtained is 69% that is included in medium category.

Abstract

Children with intellectual disabilities are special needs children with below-average intellectual mental retardation. This condition causes children with intellectual disabilities to face academic difficulties, particularly in mathematics, leading to low logical-mathematical intelligence. The aim of this study is to determine the development of students' logical-mathematical intelligence in mathematics learning on the topic of plane figures using a problem-based learning model assisted by an e-module. The method used in this study is single subject research with an A-B design consisting of two conditions: A as the baseline condition and B as the intervention condition. Data from both conditions were analyzed using within-condition analysis and between-condition analysis. The results of this study show an overlap percentage of 0%, indicating that the intervention has an increasingly positive effect on students' logical-mathematical intelligence.
