Abstract

The learning process has shifted from face-to-face to online lectures, requiring students and lecturers to maintain their motivation and quality of learning. This study aims to analyze the causes of low student motivation and the quality of lecturers' learning in online lectures in the Islamic Education Management (MPI) Study Program at UIN Alauddin Makassar. The research method used was a qualitative approach with data collection through in-depth interviews. Primary data were obtained from interviews with four MPI students from the classes of 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2025 and two MPI lecturers. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that student motivation in online learning tends to be unstable due to limited interaction, technical constraints, and low student active involvement. The quality of online lectures is considered unable to replace the effectiveness of face-to-face learning, especially in terms of the depth of interaction and class control. In conclusion, online learning is more appropriately positioned as a complement to face-to-face learning through a blended learning model. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of strengthening interactive online learning designs, improving lecturer competencies, and supporting institutional policies and infrastructure to improve student motivation and learning quality.

Abstract

This This study aims to analyze the classroom management strategies implemented by sixth-grade teachers at Tidung State Elementary School and describe their impact on student learning motivation. Classroom management is an important aspect in creating a conducive, orderly, and enjoyable learning environment that can encourage active student involvement in the learning process. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data sources were obtained from sixth-grade teachers as primary informants and students as supporting informants through observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that teachers implement participatory, adaptive, communicative, and humanistic classroom management strategies. These strategies are realized through student involvement in spatial arrangement and the preparation of classroom rules, the application of a variety of learning methods, providing positive reinforcement, the use of simple learning media, and building effective two-way communication. This study concludes that the implementation of effective and contextual classroom management plays an important role in increasing the learning motivation of elementary school students, especially in sixth grade.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the principal’s management strategies in developing student talents at SD Inpres Panaikang, focusing on the stages of planning, organizing, implementing, and controlling. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and students. The findings reveal that student talent development at SD Inpres Panaikang has been managed systematically. In the planning stage, the principal identified students’ talents through teacher observations and formulated extracurricular and competition mentoring programs during school work meetings. In the organizing stage, a talent development team was established with a clear organizational structure and task distribution based on teachers’ competencies. Implementation was carried out through routine extracurricular activities, such as scouting, sports, and arts, as well as intensive mentoring for students with specific talents. The controlling stage involved regular monitoring and evaluation of student participation and achievement outcomes. Supporting factors included the strong commitment of the principal, teacher support, and collaboration with parents and the school committee. Meanwhile, limited facilities and training time were identified as inhibiting factors. This study concludes that effective student talent development is highly dependent on the principal’s ability to apply management functions in an integrated and sustainable manner, supported by collaboration among all school stakeholders.

Abstract

Digital transformation in school administration demands greater effectiveness, Digital transformation in school administration requires increasing the effectiveness and quality of services, but the readiness of administrative personnel as the main implementers still faces various obstacles. This study aims to analyze the readiness of school administration in facing the era of digital administration at MAS Guppi Samata, using a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and documentation with the subject of the Head of Administration. The results of the study show that administrative readiness is not optimal, marked by low digital competence, lack of continuous training, limited infrastructure and systems that have not been integrated, as well as limited manpower and funding. However, the madrasah has shown its commitment through the development plan of a barcode-based letter and student card management application. Different from previous research that focused on system implementation or digitalization effectiveness in general, this study reveals the relationship between human resource readiness, infrastructure, management support, and funding as determining factors for the success of digital administration transformation in madrasas, as well as being the basis for the formulation of policies to strengthen digital administration in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of educational quality management in improving student learning effectiveness at SD Negeri Tidung. The urgency of educational quality at the elementary school level underpins this research, given its direct impact on both the learning process and student outcomes. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving principals, teachers, students, and parents as informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and analysis of learning and school evaluation documents. Findings indicate that the principal plays a central role in driving a quality-oriented culture through instructional planning, academic supervision, resource management, and policy reinforcement based on collaborative efforts. Teachers implement structured instructional planning, employ varied media, and engage active learning strategies, although consistency in execution and technology use remain challenges. Quality evaluation is conducted periodically through analysis of learning outcomes and classroom supervision; however, follow-up for continuous improvement is not yet fully structured. The results affirm that adaptive, participatory, and consistent quality management contributes positively to the effectiveness of classroom learning, particularly when leadership, teacher professionalism, and collaborative culture are aligned.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of curriculum management in improving the quality of learning at MA Ma'had Manahilil Ulum GUPPI Samata, Gowa. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, and validated through source and technique triangulation. The results show that curriculum planning was carried out through the development of learning outcome flows (ATP) and teaching modules, supported by workshops and training. Curriculum implementation was strengthened by ongoing coordination between school leadership and teachers to avoid content overlap in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. Teacher development was carried out through mentoring and academic supervision, while curriculum evaluation included the examination of learning tools, classroom monitoring, and follow-up improvements. Student learning outcomes were evaluated through both formative and summative assessment, serving as the basis for remedial and enrichment programs. The main challenges included the initial adaptation to the Merdeka Curriculum and variation in teacher readiness; nevertheless, curriculum management implementation was shown to support more focused learning and sustained quality improvement. These findings can serve as a practical reference for madrasah principals and teachers in strengthening curriculum planning, coordination, and evaluation, while also enriching the academic literature on curriculum management in Islamic-based madrasah, particularly within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the management strategy employed by the school principal in developing student talents at SD Inpres Panaikang, encompassing planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision of the program. Organizing was realized by forming a talent development team with task division based on teacher competencies. Implementation was reflected in regular extracurricular activities (scouting, sports, and arts) as well as intensive mentoring for talented students, while supervision was conducted through periodic monitoring and evaluation of student participation and achievement. Supporting factors included the principal's commitment, teacher support, and the involvement of parents and the school committee, while inhibiting factors included limited facilities and training time. The study indicates that the success of student talent development is determined by the principal's ability to apply management functions in an integrated and sustainable manner, making the strengthening of managerial competence and cross-party collaboration essential. These findings can also serve as a reference for other elementary schools in designing student talent development programs suited to their own conditions and resources.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of cleanliness management carried out by the cleaning service staff at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FTK), Alauddin State Islamic University of Makassar, and to examine its impact on the quality of the learning environment. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with two students, one cleaning service staff member, and one cleaning coordinator, supported by observations and documentation. The findings indicate that the cleanliness management system has implemented the management functions of planning, organizing, actuating, leading, controlling, and evaluation, thereby contributing to the creation of a clean, comfortable, and conducive learning environment. However, improvements are still needed in documentation, strategic planning, and evaluation systems to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of cleanliness management. The novelty of this study lies in its analysis of cleanliness management implementation based on management functions at the faculty level by positioning the cleaning service as a strategic actor in facility management to support the quality of the learning environment, an aspect that has received limited attention in previous studies. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for higher education institutions in developing a more systematic, well-documented, and sustainable cleanliness management system to improve the quality of educational services.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Education Management Information System (EMIS) in data management at the Al-Ihsan Appanang Soppeng Islamic boarding school examining the stages of organization, interpretation, and application and to assess its alignment with the Decree of the Director General of Islamic Education Number 5974 of 2019. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the study gathered data through semi-structured interviews with an operator, two teachers, and two students. The results indicate that the EMIS implementation complies with government policy and yields benefits such as administrative orderliness, data transparency, and streamlined reporting, while also positively impacting students. Consequently, the system requires support through infrastructure upgrades, the addition of operators, and continuous training for both operators and teachers to ensure that evidence-based Islamic education data management operates more optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

The urgency of this research is based on the importance of optimizing the utilization of Dapodik as an educational information system that supports accurate, integrated, and sustainable academic data management. This study aims to analyze the utilization of the Basic Education Data System (Dapodik) as an educational information system in academic data management at SMA Negeri 12 Gowa. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with purposively selected informants consisting of Dapodik operators, teaching staff, and education personnel. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and direct observation, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results showed that Dapodik has been utilized as an educational information system for managing academic data at SMA Negeri 12 Gowa. Its utilization improves data validity, administrative efficiency, report preparation, and data-based decision-making. However, several challenges remain, including limited internet connectivity, server maintenance issues, and delays in data updates. Therefore, improving operator competency, strengthening coordination among school members, and providing adequate technological infrastructure are necessary to optimize the use of Dapodik in academic data management. This study implies that effective utilization of Dapodik requires not only a reliable information system but also human resource readiness and institutional support to improve the quality of academic data management.
