Abstract

Has done research on the trait of cadel of caused by hereditary factor. Cadel is the inability say letter "r" in adults, it can also be caused by disease factors, psikoedukatif and psikokultural. This study began in 1994 and then discontinued in 2012. Because of herediter factor not yet been known surely, so that this research aim to determine the nature of cadel which influence by herediter and to determine the inheritance pattern of cadel. As many as three pedigree research that has been compiled from the data that meet the criteria are analyzed to determine the nature of cadel caused by hereditary factors and determine the inheritance pattern of a cadel. Made an assumption that "Character A pattern revealed by b" in determining the inheritance pattern cadel, then through phenotypic found in the pedigree is determined assuming compliance. The results showed that cadel can also be caused by hereditary factors with autosomal recessive inheritance pattern

Abstract

One ability that a teacher must have is capable to see how students construct knowledge inside of them. Knowledge construction process is one of mental activity that experienced by a students to develop their knowledge through two process such as assimilat ion and accomodation then by equilibration as the adaptation. However, teacher needs to consider thought pattern of a student because thought patterns have relevance in construction process itself which affect on how someone gather and use their knowledge through perception and the information processing that they have accept. Thought patterns consist by four type such as Sequential Sophisticated, Sequential Abstract, Random Sophisticated and Random Abstract that if we refer to mathematics learning, Sequential Abstract will be on the first place based on former research and considering that mathematics are hierachial and abstract. This matter is kind of hard to see by a teacher but will be ver y helpful if they know it, because teacher can plan the learning to optimize four of the thought patterns as well as knowledge construction process, students will be able to answer question of "How can we know what we know"

Abstract

The research was aimed to find out the change of protein and HCN content of bitter cassava root were fermented by several microorganisms to produce "Wikau Maombo" and to evaluate of the microorganisms isolates yielding the best of "Wikau Maombo". These studies were used experimental by solid state fermentation. A 35 local isolates were used as an inoculum obtained from tradisional fermented “Wikau Maombo”. The result of the research was showed that the treatment by all isolates non significance of the change on protein contents, but significantly on HCN contents of “Wikau Maombo” compared with control. The fresh cassava tuber were used as a control (KS) contains of 0.7221% and 103.8352 ppm of protein and HCN, respectively. The best quality of "Wikau Maombo" fermentation product were treated by isolate M (FM) which protein content of 0.8805% and 23.0555 ppm of HCN. Subsequently, the fermentation product by using mold isolates (FKpC) yielded protein content approximately 0.6505% and 25.7719 ppm of HCN, whereas the yeast isolates HC (FHC) yielded 0.7608% and 25.7447 ppm of protein and HCN, respectively.

Abstract

High phosphate concentrations in aquatic environments can cause algal bloom that canresult serious problem in aquatic ecosystems. As such, the determination techniques ofphosphate which reflect its bioavailability need to be available in order to know the levelof phosphate concentration in aquatic ecosystem. One of effective method that is currentlyused in the determination of phosphate bioavailability in aquatic environments is aDiffusive Gradient in Thin Films (DGT) technique with TiO2 as a binding layer. In thisresearch, the crosslinking modification of polyacrylamide gel was used as a diffusive gelsin DGT system to improve the selectivity of the orthophosphate adsorption. Thecrosslinker that used for modification is N, N'-methylenebisacrylamide (MBA). Diffusioncoefficient with concentration of crosslinking degree of variation was found that thediffusion coefficient is inversely proportional to the concentration of cross linker. Test ofselectivity DGT diffusive gels with crosslinking MBA done through the calculation of totalphosphate levels in both systems with a competing organic phosphorus compound in theform of phytic acid anions and humic acids. The calculation is done using the systemdeployment within 24 hours and the concentration of crosslinking variation MBA (0,05%,0,2% and 0.3%). Obtained through these calculations show that the diffusive gelcrosslinking MBA with a concentration of 0.3% gave the best selectivity towardsorthophosphate anion. This has been proven through experimental research by usingorganic phosphate as competing species. Concentration of phytic acid and humic acidadsorbed on these systems tend to stagnate despite its concentration increases. This provesthat the diffusive gel MBA 0,3% have skipped a certain threshold in both the organic acids; was only of 28,753μg for phytic acid and 33,177 μg for humic acid. Based on this study itcan be concluded that the degree can be used as a crosslinking on diffusive polyacrylamidegels in DGT system. The use of crosslinked diffusive material can also provide phosphatebioavailability concentration measurements that are more accurate because it is moreselective towards amount of orthophosphate and limting organic phosphate diffused asphytic acid and humic acid which can interfere with analysis of the levels oforthophosphate.

Abstract

Plasmodium falciparum has the ability to develop resistence to anti-malarial drugsthrough mutations at some genes, including Plasmodium falciparum multi-drug resistanceprotein 1 (Pfmdr1). Pfmdr1 mutations might occur at some codon positions, includingposition 1246 in which aspartatic acid is changed into tyrosine. It is suggested that themutant allele, 1246Y, is related to treatment failures with amodiaquine, an anti-malarialdrug. The aim of this research is to analyse the mutation of Pmdr1 1246 in malaria patients who will receive treatment with combination of artesunate-amodiquine (AS-AQ). From 18samples, none has the allele of 1246 Y. Follow up to the patients until day 28 shows thatAS-AQ is clinically effective to treat malaria.
