Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of PBL (Problem based Learning) model on motivation and learning outcomes of students grade VII SMP Negeri 5 Pallangga Gowa District. This type of research is quasi experiment with Pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The population of the research is the students of SMP Negeri 5 Pallangga consisting of seven classes with the number of students as much as 203 peoples. The sample was chosen by double random sampling technique,Ramlawati (2017)2one experiment class and one control class. Data collection using questionnaire instrument to measure learning motivation and learning outcomes instrument to measure students learning outcomes. The data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. The average score of motivation after learning was 105.6 (high category) and average score of learning result was 87.17 (very high category). The result of inferential analysis by using t-test of learning motivation was obtained tcount 1.89 and result of t-testresult of study tcount 4,57. Both results indicate that t-calc> t-table(t-table1.67). This means that H0is rejected and H1is accepted. It can be concluded that there is an influence of PBL model on learning motivation and learning outcomes of science students grade VII SMP Negeri 5 Pallangga Gowa District on the subject matter of Environmental Pollution.

Abstract

Java wood (Lannea coromendelica) is a plant that is spread in various regions and has the potential to be explored in its use. This study aims to explore Java Wood (Lanneacoromendelica) by determining the type of solvent and the best method of extraction in extracting the content of secondary metabolites of Java Wood clica (Lanneacoromendelica). Extraction was carried out by maceration method using ethylacetate and ethanol 70% solvent and using dry and wet samples, so that four kinds of extracts were obtained, namely 70% ethanol extract of wet Java wood clica (KJBE70%), 70% ethanol extract of dry Java wood clica (KJKE70%), dry Java woodclicaethyl acetate extract (KJKEA), and wet Java wood clica extract (KJBEA) The secondary metabolite compounds found in Javanese wood (Lannea coromendelica) are flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and terpenoids. Wet Java wood clica extract (KJBEA) has the highest secondary metabolite compound content of three compounds namely flavonoids, saponins, and tannins.

Abstract

This study aims to describe rainfall profiles, analyze the frequency of wet and dry months based on Oldeman and Schmidt-Ferguson methods and determine the nature of rain in Polewali Mandar regency 1987-2016 period for 30 years. This process starts with secondary data collection in the form of rainfall data obtained from Majene Meteorological Station II (BPP Campalagian station, BPP Tonyaman / Polewali station, BPP Lantora station, Unasman Manding station, SMPK Wonomulyo station and Limboro / Tinambung station). Then the data is processed using Microsoft excel. The result of data processing shows that rainfall profile in Polewali Mandar Regency has an equatorial rainfall pattern, wet and dry moon frequency in Polewali Mandar District by Oldeman Classification of rainfall type characteristics, type E or dry season and according to Schmidt-Fergusson Classification of type characteristics its rainfall is type B with wetness. And the rainfall in Polewali Mandar Regency is below normal with percentage of 50%.

Abstract

The ability to think creatively is one kind of higher order thinking. Wasis et al. (2014) stated that the ability to think critically is not only necessary inthe learning process but also necessary for applications in everyday life. Therefore, the ability to think creatively as part of higher order thinking necessary to serve as one of the important objectives to be achieved for education today. In an effort to develop creative thinking abilities of students, the necessary aspects that can serve as the basis development creative thinking abilities of students, one of the aspects that can be assessed is the ability of self-regulation. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between self-regulation with creative thinking ability of students of grade XI in Takalar. The study sample consisted of 134 studentswho were selected using purposive random sampling technique strativied. Data were collected by using self-regulation questionnaire consists of 40 items (α = 0.756) and creative thinking abilities questionnaire consisting of 32 items (α = 0.825). By using simple correlation and regression analysis, found that the correlation coefficient between these two variables is 0.595, p = 0.000 (p <0.05). This value indicates that there is a relationship between self-regulation with creative thinking ability in chemistry and the relationship between the two variables is a positive relationship.

Abstract

The analysis of the nutritional content of salakseed coffee in Pekkabata Village, Duampanua District, Pinrang Regency aims to determine the protein content, fat content and carbohydrates contained in the zalacca seed coffee products of Community Partnership Program (PKM) BKMT Pekkabata Village. Based on the results of interviews and observations with the local community, the farmed salak is usually sold to the market and is also usually consumed alone, however the zalacca seeds are only thrown away. Thus the PKM team conducted counseling on the making of zalacca seed coffee. Based on the analysis results obtained protein content of 4.42%; fat content 12.19%; and carbohydrate content of 46.74%.

Abstract

This study aims to develop STEM-based learning with the help of ICT to improve 21st century skills. This research is a Pre-experiment research with research design used "one group Pretest-posttest design". The sample consisted of 6 classes and 32 students were selected as one class. On the improvement of students' critical thinking skills, the average score of the pretest was 69.03 and the average score of the posttest was 82.44 with an N-gain of 0.45 in the medium category. While the improvement of students' creative thinking skills obtained an average pretest score of 74.63 and an average posttest score of 87.97 with an N-Gain of 0.56 in the medium category. While the improvement of communication and collaboration skills obtained a percentage above 66%, communication skills gained 67.13% results and collaboration skills obtained by 74.75% and included in both categories. Student responses obtained results of more than 61%, amounting to 68.06%, including the good category as well. For the effectiveness of the learning outcomes obtained results above 61% which is 72.63%. So it can be concluded that Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematic (STEM) Science-Based Learning (ICT) assisted with ICT can improve 21st Century skills and run well.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the selection and use of media in science teaching deaf students of Class XI in Sukoharjo, Central Java Province. This study used a qualitative descriptive study. Subject of research data is a teacher, the students and the principal. The technique of collecting data using questionnaires, interviews, documentation and observation. SLB research sites in Sukoharjo district, which includes SLB ABCD YSD Polokarto, SLB B-C Hamongputro Jombor, SLB B-C YPALB Langenharjo and SLB ABC Tawangsari. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display and draw conclusions. Conclusions are presented in the form of a narrative text form field notes. The results showed a lack of availability of media science teaching in schools can choose to teach science teacher of deaf children. In this study also found the lack of frequency of use of science learning media provided for learning science. It was also found more teachers use instructional media images in science learning in the classroom.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning learning model by utilizing the environment as a learning resource on the motivation and learning outcomes of seventh grade students at MTs Pesantren Al Qamar Kab. Takalar. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research (quasi-experimental). The research sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique as many as 2 classes with 20 students in each class. Data analysis used covariance analysis test. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively and inferential analysis using the computer application SPSS version 20.0 for windows. The results of the analysis of the anacova test on the intercept value showed a constant value with a significance of 0.000 <0.05, meaning that the pretest and the learning model using the environment simultaneously had different impacts on motivation and learning outcomes. The significance value of the initial ability (pretest) shows 0.235 > 0.05, meaning that the initial ability is not significant on learning motivation with the impact of treatment at 3.8 percent and 0.029 <0.05, meaning that the initial ability has a significant impact on learning outcomes 12.3 percent. The learning model shows a significance value of 0.006 <0.05 on learning motivation and 0.029 <0.05 on learning outcomes, meaning that learning models using different learning resources in each research sample have significant differences on student motivation and learning outcomes with the impact of each treatment. -each variable is 19.0 percent and 12.3 percent.

Abstract

Subdistrict Galesong is lying areas and coastal areas with an altitude of 0-100 meters above sea level. This spurred the use of land for the functional area awakened. Based on this case, it is necessary to conduct research on seismic vulnerability distribution in Kecamatan Galesong of Takalar Regency. Primary data are taken directly around the north coast Galesong using 303S TDL. The data taken as much as 5 points of measurement with the distance of each point about 500 meters. Further data measurement is then processed with Geopsy software. The frequency value is 0,416-0,509 Hz hence the dominant alluvial rock study location, where at point MG02 is the most vulnerable area with value 105,9918. While based on the value of PGA is 8.4-9.4 Gal, then the location of research including very small level of risk of earthquake.

Abstract

This research was a classroom action research that aims to find the steps of applying the learning cycle 5E model which was integrated with the problem solving method so that improve learning activities and problem solving abilities of the students ontitration material and the solution equilibrium. This research took place in two cycles, each consists four stages, namely planning, implementing actions, observing, and evaluating. Data collection was performed by using observation sheets and problem solving ability tests at the end of each cycle. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively by describing a general description of the data during the study. The results showed the activity and problem solving ability of students increased after applying the learning cycle 5E model with steps of the engagement phase, exploration phase, explanation phase, elaboration phase which was integrated with the problem solving method, and evaluation phase. The results showed the average of students’ learning activities increased from 72.0% in the first cycle to 76.3% in the second cycle, while the average of students' problem solving abilities increased from 78.3% in the first cycle to 84.8% in the next cycle.
