Abstract

This research is a case study that adopted a qualitative approach. It took place in the tenth-grade classes of MAN Palopo. The study's objective was to investigate pre-service teachers' knowledge of pedagogyduring mathematics teaching and learning on the topic of unique angles in Trigonometry. The participants recruited showed distinct tendencies in every aspect observed. Participants had theskill in representing the problems through visual and verbal representation. Besides, they also tackle the problem of students' misconceptions by explaining the procedures. The participants used to encourage students to express the reasons for the use of methods. Lastly, knowledge of how to teach a concept facilitated by good class management could minimize misconceptions and enable meaningful learning for students

Abstract

mproving themastery of physics for the societyis an educational roadmap Pof understanding of physics among students and teachers of SMAN I Bontonompo.Output of theactivity is enrichment capability in solving problems in various fields of physics. Thus the participants will have the ability to solve problems both in field of theoretical and experimental physics,inpreparingthe students to be able to compete in various events and competitions such as scienceolympics. Also introduced how to use internet optimally in studying physics. By conducting a survey of 105 students at SMAN I Bontonompo usingmethod of random samples, itcan be concluded that all students have been able to use the search engine, 91% reported using internet in search of a collection of about physics, 90% statesthathadfound materials like lecture notes or books, 87% said the internet helped in completing the answers, 21% claimed to have seen the video of learning physics on the internet, and 11% had a discussion about the problems of physics on the internet. Then subjects in high school the students feel the most difficult is physics (78%), mathematics (19%), chemistry (6%), English (2%), and biology (1%). Abstract

The liquid waste of the soft drink industry usually uses raw materials in the form of sugar as a flavoring with glucose as the main raw material. Thus, it is not surprising that the waste contains a lot of organic materials. The purpose of this study is to provide another alternative in controlling the pollution of liquid industrial waste by using natural coagulants in terms of reducing the value of COD, TSS, turbidity, and pH by varying the coagulant dose of Moringa seeds. This research was carried out by preparing Moringa seeds that used as a coagulant and then varying the weight of the biocoagulant with slow stirring technique when contacted with waste to find the optimum dose in reducing COD, TSS, turbidity, and pH values. Based on the results of the study, the optimum dose obtained was 1.5 grams of Moringa seed coagulant which could reduce TSS by 89%, turbidity 65% and COD 88%. From these results it can be concluded that using Moringa seed coagulant can improve the quality of the liquid waste of the soft drink industry

Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR) is the latest technology that can be a solution for educators to present learning that is innovative, informative, interesting, and can present virtual 3D objects in real form and presented in real time, so as to be able to present abstract concepts become more real. This study aims to develop Biology learning applications using Android-based AR technology on the concept of a proper and effective nervous system used in Biology learning. The development research method used in this stu dy is the development model according to Akker with four stages, namely the preliminary research stage, the prototype stage, the summative evaluation stage and the systematic reflection and documentation. The research instrument used consisted of tests (ma stery of concepts) and non-tests (expert assessment sheets, questionnaires, and interviews). Data were then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that AR-based Biology learning media developed according to expert judgment are considered valid with excellent categories for media aspects, good categories for content aspects, and very good categories for pedagogical aspects. Based on the results of implementation in learning the Biology of AR media developed is quite effective and can increase the achievement of students' mastery learning by 76%.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve the learning outcomes of mathematics through contextual approach to intensify scaffolding on VIIIAgrade students of SMP Negeri 2 Donggo Bima at the subject math of cubes and blocks. The subjects were VIIIAgrade students of SMP Negeri 2 Donggo Bima in the second semester of academic year 2014/2015 with 30 students consisted of 8 girls and 22 boys. This research was conducted with two-cycles namely cycle I and cycle II. The data were collected by using achievement test at the end of both cycles and the observation data of each meeting. The data were analyzed by using quantitative and qualitative analysis. The results of this research showed that there was an increase in the mean score of students' cognitive aspects in the amount of 61.63 with a standard deviation at 19.86 which included as the lower category in the first cycle, those became 84.17 with standard deviation at 10.60 in the second cycle. Based on the analysis of the frequency distribution aspects of the student activity was 35.56% in the first cycle and increased to 80% with “good” category. The classical completeness in cycle I have not been fulfilled yet which gained 26.67% and it increased in the second cycle with 86.67%, so the classical completeness met. Thus, the use of a contextual approach by intensifying the scaffolding can improve the learning outcomes of VIIIAstudents in SMP Negeri 2 Donggo Bima.

Abstract

In the 21st century, education must prioritize teaching based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). This is because the HOTS-based education process has become a global need. This study aimwasto study how the description of the ability of high school students (SMA) in solving HOTS-type physics problems. This type of research is a descriptive quantitative with survey method. The sample used inthe study was a saturated sample with a total of 166 students of class X MIPA at the school. Data collection was carried out by giving a valid HOTS-type test instrument to the research subject. The data obtained questions is still classified in the medium category, as seen from the percentage of HOTS students which is dominated by the medium category, which is 65.06% or 108 students. This becomes a need for special attention for institutions related to education, especially educators who shouldbe able to innovate in the learning process to improve the ability of students to solve HOTS-type questions as well as for trainingtheir higher-order thinking skills.

Abstract

Problem based learning is learning which is designed systematically to maximalist the student’s process learning mainly in solving problem. Problem based learning always becomes priority for some researchers especially in mathematics. This writing aims to analyze the result of research which has is researched in the last years which is focused on problem based learning and analyzes interesting issues, this is done to minimalist problems which has been researched or not. For example; research variables whichare often appeared on mathematics when writers search in Google on problem based learning; achievement, result, motivation, interest, problem solving, communication, intuition, skill and concept understanding, critical thinking, creativity even skill of high thinking. This aims to improve ideas of researchers about problem based learning on mathematics because one of the education quality references which is directed by teachers is implementation of learning method which makes students actively and plays on contextual problems based on problems in student’s around or the simple problem is problem adopted in local learning content. It is important that problem based learning is continually applied because this is much discussed by researchers, writers, and even education observers state that problem based learning gives positive effect toward student’s skill improvement because the interesting thing is in teacher’s activity content when this is applied in the class.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of the waters of Sungsang, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province based on several water quality parameters and determine the level of lead accumulation of heavy metals (Pb) in the white shrimp network (Penaeus merguiensis) to the abiotic environment (water and sediment) based on the value of Bioconcentration Factor (BCF). This research is expected to be able to contribute to the calculation of Ocean Health Index (OHI) as an important indicator for the ongoing assessment of marine health that can be used as a database in making marine policy. Based on the results of the study obtained the results of the heavy metal content of Pb in water and sediments in the waters of Sungsang have not exceeded the quality standards set by South Sumatra Governor Regulation No. 16 of 2005 and based on standard sediment quality guidelines for metals and associated levels of concern to be used in doing assessments of sediment quality in 2003 and according to the IACD / CEDA (International Association of Draging Companies / Central Dreging Association) in 1997. Lead metal concentrations contained in white shrimp produced from three locations have exceeded the limits set by the Head of BPOM RI No HK.00.06.1.52.4011 in 2009. Based on the value of Bioconcentration Factor (BCF), the absorption of Pb in the white shrimp network (Penaeus merguiensis) to its abiotic environment at the three research sites in the waters of Sungsang, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province shows a low accumulative level.

Learning to use the Student Worksheet based learning scientific approach is learner-centered. Student Worksheet-based scientific approach is student work sheet that contains instructions for implementing the learning activities to be performed by the students by applying scientific approach through stages observe, ask, collect data, associate and communicate. This study aims to (1) determine the activities to learn science Biology of seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Watampone taught using LKPD-based scientificapproach, (2) determine learning outcomes IPA Biology of seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Watampone taught by using LKPD-based scientific approach, and (3) the effect of the use of LKPD scientific approach based on learning outcomes of science Biology of seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Watampone. This study is peneltian pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design. Subjects were students of class VII second semester of academic year 2015/2016, ie a total of 24 students VIIa class as a class experiment without a control class. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that (1) the learning activities of students taught using a scientific approach based LKPD are in a very active category, (2) the learning outcomes of students after being taught to use a scientific approach based LKPD reach an average value of 83.13 with a standard deviation of 9.143 and (3) Increase the ability of students after being taught by learning to use a scientific approach basedLKPD are at higher classification.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach that aims to analyze the mastery of the pedagogical competence of the physics teacher of SMAN in Makassar. The sample of the study was randomly selected as many as 8 teachers from eight schools determined by cluster random sampling based on school accreditation, teachers who have been certified from 2007 to 2014, teachers who have taken the pedagogical competency test in 2015 and 2017, and teachers who have attended the 2013 Curriculum training more than three times. Data were collected by giving questionnaires and observations to measure teacher's pedagogical competencies and reviewing lesson plans to measure indicators of curriculum development, then analyzed by descriptive statistics. The results of the analysis of the data show the indicators (1) the mastery of the characteristics of students gained an average value of 75,47 with a sufficient category, (2) mastery of learning theory and principles of learning that educate an average score of 76,41 with a good category, ( 3) mastery of development obtains an average value of 67,19 with a sufficient category, (4) mastery of carrying out educational activities obtaining an average value of 75,00 with a good category. Overall in mastering the pedagogical competence of high school physics teachers in Makassar in the good category.
