Abstract

Empirical Best Linear Unbiased Prediction (EBLUP)is one of methods in small area estimation. The prediction used in EBLUP is that the effect of mutual free-random errors area. But in some cases, this is not always obeyed. Its causes is the heterogenic of an area influenced by the other area surrounded, so that the influence of spatial can be get into the effect of random. Because of the disobey mak e the estimation of EBLUP is refraction and have big difference. Solution to overcome those is to put information of the spatial effect into the model. The estimation of small area that pays attention the influence of spatial area well known as estimator of SpatialEmpirical Best Linear Unbiased Prediction (SEBLUP). It gives the better estimation compared with the estimator of EBLUP based on the comparison of ARRMSE value from each estimation method.

Abstract

Acute respiratory infections are a major cause of morbidity and mortality in infections diseases of the world. Environment based diseases are still the main cause of death in Indonesia. ISPA in Indonesia is on the top 10 list of diseases in hospitals. Based on the Makassar city health office report, ISPA became the number one disease in Makassar city among 9 other d iseases with 45.569 cases in 2015 and 44.819 ISPA cases in 2016. One of the factor that can cause a high incidence of ISPA is the physical environment. This study aims to determine how much the risk factor for the quality of the physicalenvironment agaits ISPA events . This study uses simple random sampling technique with a sample 59 people which are then processed by crosstab test. The result showed that there was a relationship of residential density (OR = 2.030, RR = 0.635), ventilation (OR = 0.814, RR = 1.138), type of floor (OR = 0.768, RR = 1.173), type of wall (OR = 5.294, RR = 0.324), distance between the house and the highway (OR = 1.167, RR = 0.909) and cleaning habits ( OR = 1.228, RR = 0.879) with ISPA events.

Abstract

Domestic cats (Felis catus) have different behavior patterns from other animals. This behavior is described in 10 behavioral patterns, namely ingestive behavior, sexual behavior, eliminative behavior, investigative behavior, agonistic behavior, allelomimetic behavior, protective seeking behavior, epimeletic behavior, et-epimeletic behavior and maladaptive behavior. This behavior occurs naturally or because it is taught to cats. This study was conducted to find out the ten behavioral patterns in cats that were studied through a literature study or literature review by looking for sources related to the behavior of domestic cats. Thus, the results obtained that cats have specific behavior patterns in the ten behavioral patterns

Abstract

This study aims to determine the activity of protease enzyme production from bacterial isolate B isolated from the roots of karst plants in various incubation times. The bacterial isolate used was bacterial isolate B, a thermophilic proteolytic bacterium isolated from the Karst Ecosystem in Pangkajene Regency, South Sulawesi Province. Testing of protease activity was carried out using the Lowry method. Highest crude protein. Protein content of all treatments was obtained at 48 hours of incubation for Bacterial Isolate B (5.756 mg/ml).The results showed that Bacterial Isolate B showed optimal production time at 48 hours with enzyme activity 0.393 Unit/ml. It can be concluded that Bacterial Isolate B is a proteolytic bacterium characterized by the formation ofa clear zone around the bacterial colonies in SMA. The production of the protease enzyme obtained by the RSM (CCD) method was optimum at 0.393 U/ml at 0.60% glucose concentration, 0.50% yeast extract and 1.00% skim milk.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) determine the effectiveness of the scientific approach to the science process skills of students of XII class of SMAN 4 Watampone; 2) determine the effectiveness of the scientific approach to biology cognitive learning outcomes of students of XII class of SMAN 4 Watampone. The research is a pre-experiment with the One-Group Pretest-Post test design, the treatment given purporsive on the experimental group. The technique of collecting data for the dependent variable is done by using the instrument in the form of observation sheet that comes with assessment rubric for science process skills, and instruments such as achievement test form MCQs for biological cognitive learning outcome data. Analysis of the data usedis descriptive analysis with N-Gain. The result showed that the science process skills including high category with an average score of the 11 indicators of the ability of 3.78 and a standard deviation of 0.47. Cognitive learning outcomes before and after treatment biology scientific approach gained an average increase in scores or deviation of 36.5 and a standard deviation of 5.524, meaning that the average learner can add the number of correct answers about 9 of 10 items. It means that scientific approach quite effective for improving the cognitive learning biology of students of XII class of SMAN 4 Watampone. The effectiveness of the scientific approach to the advancement of the cognitive learning category moderately N-gain value 0.578. If grouped by medium and high groups showed that the average value of the N-gain medium group was 0.549 was the average N-gain high-groups of 0.744

Abstract

The research aims to determine the influence of the application of the Constructivis Novick model with the media edutainment towards the motivation and understanding of the student concept. As for the population in this research is the grade X students MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Wonomulyo as many as 180 students are divided into 5 classes, then taken samples using simple random sampling technique as many as 2 classes: X class MIPA 1 as Class Experimental and X MIPA 3 as the control class. The instrument used in this study is a test of understanding the concept of students and the learning Motivation questionnaire for students. The results of the research obtained is (1) The motivation to learn mathematics students who are taught using the Novick's Constructivicist learning model is higher than the learning motivation of students taught without the model of constructivicist Novick Learning With the media edutainment, and (2) the average concept of students taught by using a model of constructivical learning Novick with the media edutainment greater than the average understanding of the concept of students taught without using the model Novick's constructivicist learning with the media edutainment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of online learning using the zoom application, google class room, and whatss app during the Covid 19 pandemic at the University of Muhammadiyah Bulukumba. This type of research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. the source of data in this study were students of biology class 18,19,20. The instrument of this research was the researcher being the key instrument. The data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used the Miles & Huberman model. The results showed that learning by using the Zoom application was less effective for collecting assignments, UTS and UAS. The Whatts App was the most effective application used in online learning because easily accessible to students living in rural areas.

Abstract

The research problem is the low participation and achievement of students studying physics. The purpose of this study to increase the participation and achievement of students studying physics. Subjects were students of class XI SMA Negeri 01 MIA 1 Manokwari the 1st half of the school year 2014/2015. This classroom action research conducted in two cycles, wherein each cycle includes the activities of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Troubleshooting methods used isthe application of cooperative learning Numbered Heads Together (NHT) in physics. The research instrument used learning achievement test, questionnaire sheets participation, participation observation sheet, questionnaire responses of learners, teacher observation sheet and field notes. Implementation of collaborative research involving two teachers of physics. A teacher acts as the implementing measures and a teacher again act as observers of teacher activity and the activity of learners. The results showed that in the first cycle obtained an average score of participation 3.07, and the average score of the learning achievement of classical physics 59.70 with a percentage of 20%. Cycle II with an average score of participation of 3.11, and an average score of 80.79 with a percentage of learning achievement classically 77%. This shows that there is increased participation and completeness in classical. Thus the classroom action research with the implementation of cooperative learning NHT can increase participation and achievement of students studying physics.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase activity, motivation and learning outcomes of science biology for VIIIA-1 Class of MTsN 1 Watampone through guided inquiry learning model. This study is classroom action research conducted in MTsN 1 Watampone, Bone. The subjects were students of Class of VIIIA-1 with the number of students is 32. This research was conducted in the second semester of 2015/2016 academic year, January to April 2016. Results showed that (1) the activity of students to learn science biology of VIIIA-1 Class of MTsN 1 Watampone increased from 62.25% to 87.5% through the inquiri guided learning model, (2) motivation to learn science biology of Students of VIIIA-1Class ofMTsN 1 Watampone increased from 85.71% to 87.06% through the inquiri guided learning model, (3) Biological science learning outcomes of students of VIIIA-1 Class of MTsN 1 Watampone increased from 59.37% to 87.5% through the inquiri guided learning model.

Abstract

This research is a school action research, which aims to increase the understanding of educators about the K-13 grading system by implementing continous internal workshops in SMP Negeri 4 Bantimurung, Maros Regency. The subject of this research is educator SMP Negeri 4 Bantimurung, 2nd semester of 2015/2016 academic year were 36 subjects. While the object of research is educator's understanding of the 2013 curriculum assessment system. Research results show that an increase in participants' readiness in the workshop activities in SMP Negeri 4 Bantimurung. Besides that, an increase in performance or understanding of educators with a good minimum category in making a learning outcomes assessment system through coaching in the form of workshops at SMP Negeri 4 Bantimurung, from cycle I to cycle II and reached an average of 85.28%. The average value of the percentage with a good minimum category has exceeded the minimum target that has been set at 85%, the meaning of 85% is educators have been effective in creating a learning outcomes assessment system in each aspect.
