Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to develop reading materials for the Sport Science Sophomores of Univer-sitas Negeri Malang due to the unavailability of the materials. The design of her research is R and D (Research and Development) simplified from Borg and Gall design (1983). The result of preliminary study showed that the available materials were not in line with the syllabus since it still reflects the teaching of General English, while the syllabus emphasizes teaching English texts related to Sport Science. The final products of this research are ‘Student’s Book and Teacher’s manual’.Key Words: reading materials, sophomores, sport scienceAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan bacaan untuk mahasiswa tingkat 2 jurusan Ilmu Keolahragaan di Universitas Negeri Malang karena tidak tersedianya bacaan bahan ajar. Desain penelitiannya adalah R dan D (Penelitian dan Pengembangan) yang disederhanakan dari  desain Borg dan Gall. Hasil penelitian pendahuluan menunjukkan bahwa bahan yang tersedia tidak sesuai dengan silabus karena masih mencerminkan ajaran Bahasa Inggris umum, sementara silabus menekankan pengajaran teks bahasa Inggris yang berhubungan dengan Sains Sport. Abstract

Praksis Pendidikan Karakter dalam Novel Negeri 5 Menara Karya Ahmad FuadiAbstract: The focus of this study are (1) the semiotic meaning of understanding virtues praxis by the characters, (2) the semiotic meaning of practical application of virtue by the characters, and (3) the semiotic meaning of reflection praxis on the actions taken by the characters. This study used a quali-tative approach. Source of data is a text novel by Ahmad Fuadi N5M, thirteenth edition published in 2012. The research data analysis using Pierce semiotic analysis. Based on research data found as fol-lows. (1) The semiotic meaning of understanding virtues praxis include seven things. (2) The semiotic meaning of practical application of virtue by the characters include the planting of five character value strategy. (3) The semiotic meaning of characters reflection praxis includes six new awareness.Key Words: character education, comprehension activities, application activities, reflection activities, semiotic studiesAbstrak: Fokus penelitian ini adalah (1) makna semiotik praksis pemahaman nilai-nilai kebajikan oleh tokoh cerita, (2) makna semiotik praksis penerapan nilai-nilai kebajikan oleh tokoh cerita, dan (3) mak-na semiotik praksis refleksi terhadap tindakan yang dilakukan oleh tokoh cerita. Penelitian ini menggu-nakan pendekatan kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian adalah teks novel N5M karya Ahmad Fuadi ce-takan ketigabelas tahun 2012. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan analisis semiotik Pierce. Berdasarkan data penelitian ditemukan sebagai berikut. (1) Makna semiotik praksis pemahaman nilai-nilai kebajikan meliputi tujuh hal. (2) Makna semiotik praksis penerapan nilai-nilai kebajikan oleh tokoh cerita meliputi lima strategi penanaman nilai karakter. (3) Makna semiotik praksis refleksi tokoh cerita meliputi enam kesadaran baru.Kata kunci: pendidikan karakter, aktivitas pemahaman, aktivitas penerapan, aktivitas refleksi, dan kajian semiotik

Abstract

Abstract: Drama class in its relation to education gives mental and intellectual experience in mastering English as language and culture. As an authentic material, drama class in university level should explore students’ competence by providing varied material and activities. The development of a workbook by incorporating character building aspects for drama class in Lambung Mangkurat University is seen important. The workbook is developed by following the result of need assessment and the demand of course competenceof English Department in Lambung Mangkurat University. By involving 20 students of drama class, the research is carried out by following the modified stage of development by Borg and Gall. The result of the development shows that the developed workbook can be categorized as good product from the result of quantitative data in all aspects. Therefore, the workbook can be used as one of the component in teaching in the drama class.Key Words: workbook, english drama, character building Abstrak: Kelas drama terkait dengan pendidikan memberikan pengalaman mental intelektual dalam penguasaan bahasa Inggris dari aspek kebahasaan dan budaya. Sebagai sumber otentik, kelas drama di universitas hendaknya menggali kemampuan siswa dengan memberikan ragam materi dan aktivitas. Pengembangan buku kerja dengan menggabungkan unsur pendidikan karakter bagi mahasiswa kelas drama Inggris di Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (UNLAM) adalah penting. Buku kerja ini dikembangkan berdasarkan kebutuhan siswa dan disesuaikan dengan tuntutan pokok bahasan pada kelas drama di Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di UNLAM. Dengan melibatkan 20 siswa kelas Drama di program studi Bahasa Inggris FKIP UNLAM, penelitian pengembangan dilakukan dengan mengikuti tahapan modifikasi dari Borg & Gall. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan buku kerja yang dikembangkan dikatagorikan baik berdasarkan hasil data kuantitatif dari semua aspek. Buku kerja ini dapat dijadikan pelengkap komponen dalam pengajaran di kelas Drama.Kata kunci: buku kerja, drama bahasa Inggris, pendidikan karakter

Abstract

Pengaruh Metode Group Work Berbantuan Media Video dan Motivasi Berprestasi terhadap Hasil Belajar Menulis Paragraf Deskriptif dalam Bahasa InggrisAbstract: The aim of this research is to describe and  examine the effect of instructional group work method utilizing video media and  achievement motivation towards students’ study results in writing English descriptive paragraph. This research is a quasi-experimental with factorial version 2x2 of pre-test and posttest nonequivalent control group design, implemented into five different paralel classes, A,B,C,D, and E class. Data of study results collected through pretest and posttest are analized by using SPSS 17. Research result showed that group work method gives a better effect than individual work toward students’ learning outcomes. Key Words: method, group work, video media, individual work, achievement motivation, learning outcomesAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh metode group work berbantuan media vi-deo dan motivasi berprestasi terhadap hasil belajar menulis paragraf deskriptif dalam bahasa Inggris. Penelitian quasi experiment ini menggunakan rancangan faktorial 2x2 nonequivalent control group design, yang dilaksanakan pada 5 kelas paralel, yaitu kelas A, B, C, D, dan E. Data hasil belajar diper-oleh melalui kegiatan pretest dan posttest. Anova faktorial 2x2 (Anova 2 jalur) digunakan untuk menganalisis data dengan menggunakan aplikasi SPSS 17. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa metode group work lebih baik daripada metode individual, yang secara signifikan mempengaruhi hasil belajar menulis paragraf deskriptif dalam bahasa Inggris.Kata kunci: metode, group work, video, media, individual work, motivasi berprestasi, hasil belajar

Abstract

Abstract: This research purposes is prove the impact of adopting tablet PCs on enhancement of teach-ing in secondary schools of Mauritius. The research was conducted by mixed method which comprised of quantitative and qualitative approaches for the data gathering process in Mauritius schools. A sam-ple of 400 participants were asked to participate to answer the questionnaire and the data captured was analyzed using software and it is restricted to reliability analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, correla-tion analysis, and custom tables’ analysis for the quantitative data. As for the qualitative data, the reac-tions collected from teachers convoked for the focus group which was analyzed and reflected upon. Results from the studies and researches have shown more positive impacts than negative ones which affect teaching in secondary schools of Mauritius. The best means, therefore, is to resort to applying Tablet PCs within education to promote teaching for efficiency and effectiveness.Key Words: tablet PCs, secondary schools, teachingAbstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuktikan dampak adopsi tablet pada peningkatan pengajaran di sekolah menengah Mauritius. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode campuran yang terdiri dari pendekat-an kuantitatif dan kualitatif untuk proses pengumpulan data di sekolah Mauritius. Sebanyak 400 peserta diminta untuk menjawab kuesioner dan data yang diambil dianalisis dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak dan hanya terbatas pada analisis reliabilitas, analisis statistik deskriptif, analisis korelasi, dan analisis tabel khusus untuk data kuantitatif. Adapun data kualitatif, reaksi yang dikumpulkan dari guru pada pertemuan kelompok fokus yang dianalisis dan tercermin. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dampak positif lebih banyak daripada dampak negatif yang mempengaruhi pengajaran di sekolah menengah Mauritius. Oleh karena itu, cara terbaik untuk mempromosikan pengajaran efisien dan efek-tif adalah dengan menggunakan aplikasi Tablet PC. Kata kunci: komputer tablet, sekolah menengah, pengajaran

Abstract

Abstract: This study is intended to develop a textbook for pre-service flight attendant students having training in the flight attendant training center. The developed textbook is based on the existing syllabus and need analysis period. The developmental research from Borg and Gall is implemented. The needs survey is implemented to pre-service students, ESP teachers in Sekar Gegani, and experienced flight attendants. The developed product contains ten units related to actual working atmosphere in-flight. They are: 1) Pre-flight briefing 2) Boarding, 3) Announcement 4) Before Take-off, 5) Meal Service, 6) Dealing with problem, 7) Sales on board, 8) Emergency, 9) Disembarking, and 10) Getting a job. Abstract

Pengembangan Buku Teks Membaca Intensif Berbasis Karakter di Sekolah DasarAbstract: The purpose of this study was (1) to develop instructional materials intensive reading of literary and non-literary class VI character-based, including materials and presentation techniques book. The products of this research is the development of intensive reading literary books and non-literary. Development of reading books of literary and non-literary intensive use development model of the development of teaching materials and the adaptation of Pannen Purwanto by step development of teaching materials from Tomlinson. Stages of development model is a preliminary analysis, the analysis of the curriculum, reading text collection, the selection of reading texts, writing and materials development, product testing, revision, and then the final product. Test subjects in the study were expert subjects and the learning of Indonesian language, character education experts, instructional media specialists, teachers and sixth grade students of SDN Pakis. The results of field tests of validity and intensive reading literary books and non-literary shows the criteria are very valid and ready to be used for the actual learning activities.Key Words: textbooks development, sixth grade intensive reading, character Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan bahan ajar membaca intensif sastra dan non sastra kelas VI berbasis karakter, meliputi materi dan teknik penyajian buku. Produk penelitian pengem-bangan ini adalah buku membaca intensif sastra dan non sastra. Pengembangan buku membaca intensif sastra dan non sastra menggunakan model pengembangan bahan ajar hasil adaptasi dari Pannen dan Purwanto dengan langkah pengembangan bahan ajar dari Tomlinson. Tahapan model pengembangan adalah analisis pendahuluan, analisis kurikulum, pengumpulan teks bacaan, pemilihan teks bacaan, penulisan dan penyusunan bahan ajar, uji coba produk, revisi, kemudian produk akhir. Subjek uji dalam penelitian adalah ahli mata pelajaran dan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia, ahli pendidikan karakter, ahli media pembelajaran, guru dan siswa kelas VI SDN Pakis. Hasil uji validitas dan uji lapangan buku membaca intensif sastra dan non sastra menunjukkan kriteria sangat valid dan dapat dimanfaatkan untuk kegiatan pembelajaran sebenarnya.Kata kunci: pengembangan buku teks, membaca intensif untuk kelas enam, karakter

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims at describing the internal quality assurance management in character education. This research was a qualitative research using multi-site design study. The data of this research was obtained through observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis was performed with single site data analysis and cross-site data analysis. The findings of this study were: the implementation of quality assurance of school's vision and mission and the meaning of quality assurance; The establishment of indicators of quality standards and their implementation systems; The implementation of quality standard using activity program; The evaluation of student quality standard by using observation method and self-report; The quality standard control using routine guidance for teachers, guidance for students and SOP changes; The improvement of quality standards with improvements in indicators, quality of human resources and teachers in preparation for improving quality standards.Key Words: internal quality control, SDIT, character educationAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan manajemen penjaminan mutu internal dalam pendidikan karakter. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan rancangan studi multi situs. Data untuk penelitian ini didapatkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan situs tunggal data analisis dan analisi data lintas situs. Temuan dari penelitian ini adalah: implementasi penjaminan mutu visi dan misi sekolah dan arti penjaminan kualitas; pembentukan indikator standard mutu dan sistem pelaksanaanya; pelaksanaan standard mutu menngunakan program aktifitas; evaluasi standard mutu siswa dengan menggunakan metode observasi dan lapor diri; pengendalian standar mutu menggunakan pembinaan rutin untuk guru, bimbingan untuk siswa dan perubahan SOP; peningkatan standar mutu dengan peningkatan indikator, kualitas sumber daya manusia dan guru dalam persiapan peningkatan standar mutuKata kunci: penjaminan mutu internal, SDIT, pendidikan karakter

Abstract

Abstract: This present research tended to analyze the teacher talk performed by the English teachers in a Senior High School in Palu, Central Sulawesi through the use of Self-Evaluation of Teacher Talk (SETT). This research employed a case study research design, in the nature of qualitative research. Random sampling technique was used in determining the research’s participants. From the results of the research, it was found that the English teachers implemented all of the fourteen interactional strategies of SETT. Besides, the teachers and students’ perceptions were also investigated.Key Words: classroom interaction, teacher talk, interactional strategies, self-evaluation of teacher talk, perception Abstrak: Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk menganalisis perkataan guru yang dilakukan oleh guru-guru Bahasa Inggris di sebuah Sekolah Menengah Atas di Palu, Sulawesi Tengah melalui penggunaan Self-Evaluation of Teacher Talk (SETT). Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian studi kasus, yang berada di dalam naungan penelitian kualitatif. Teknik random sampling digunakan untuk menentukan para peserta penelitian. Abstract

Stimulasi Multisensorik untuk Mengatasi Gangguan Berbahasa pada Anak yang Mengalami Specific Language ImpairmentAbstract: This study is aimed (1) to uncover the causes of language disorders in children who have SLI, (2) deficits in the language of children with SLI, (3) illustrates the carrying on multi-sensory in-tervention stimulation, and (4) describe the development of language skills children who have SLI after undergoing multi-sensory stimulation intervention. Subjects were girls aged 6 years and 9 months. The Data were collected by participatory observation, interview and document study. The results of the study are (1) the language environment that is less stimulus and history of language disorders in family are affecting  language skills of children who have SLI, (2) a deficit of language of children with specific language impairment is very complex, (3) the implementation of interventions in the form of multi-sensory stimulation involve sensory modality audio-visual-kinesthetic-tactile simultaneously, and (4) implementation multi-sensory stimulation can improve language skills and non-language abilities of children with SLI.Key Words: multi-sensory stimulation, language disorders, specific language impairmentAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mengungkap penyebab gangguan berbahasa pada anak yang mengalami SLI, (2) defisit-defisit kebahasaan pada anak yang mengalami SLI,(3) menggambarkan pe-laksanaan intervensi stimulasi multisensorik, dan (4) menggambarkan perkembangan kemampuan berbahasa anak yang mengalami SLI setelah menjalani intervensi stimulasi multisensorik. Subjek pe-nelitian adalah anak perempuan berusia 6 tahun 9 bulan. Data dikumpulkan dengan observasi partisipatori, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumen. Hasil penelitian adalah (1) lingkungan bahasa yang kurang stimulus dan riwayat gangguan berbahasa keluarga sangat mempengaruhi kemampuan berba-hasa anak yang mengalami SLI, (2) defisit kebahasaan pada anak yang mengalami specific language impairment sangat kompleks, (3) pelaksanaan intervensi dalam bentuk stimulasi multisensorik melibat-kan modalitas sensorik audio-visual-kinestetik-taktil secara simultan, dan (4) penerapan stimulasi multisensorik dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa sekaligus kemampuan nonkebahasaan pada anak yang mengalami SLI.Kata kunci: stimulasi multisensorik, gangguan berbahasa, specific language impairment
