Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of AR-based traditional Balinese games  as instructional tools for enhancing learning motivation and biomotor skills among elementary school students. Utilizing a pretest-posttest control group experimental design, 60 fifth-grade students were randomly allocated into experimental and control cohorts. The experimental group engaged in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) sessions incorporating AR-based traditional Balinese games, while the control group received conventional PJOK instruction. Data were collected via validated learning motivation questionnaires and standardized biomotor skill assessments, with multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) employed for statistical analysis. Results demonstrated that the experimental group achieved a 25.3% increase in learning motivation and a 22.4% improvement in biomotor skills, both of which were statistically significant (p < 0.01) compared to the control group. These outcomes indicate that AR-based traditional Balinese games outperform conventional pedagogical methods in simultaneously enhancing cognitive engagement and physical competency. The study confirms the transformative potential of AR technology in primary education, particularly when aligned with culturally rooted content, to optimize holistic student development.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB) in corporate financial planning as a strategic approach to enhance operational cost efficiency. Utilizing a qualitative methodology, the research conducts a comprehensive literature review to analyze existing frameworks, case studies, and empirical evidence surrounding ZBB practices in various corporate settings. The findings indicate that ZBB, by requiring organizations to justify all expenses for each new period, fosters a culture of accountability and resource optimization. This budgeting method contrasts with traditional incremental budgeting, which often perpetuates inefficiencies and misallocations of resources. The literature reveals that companies adopting ZBB have reported significant improvements in cost management, operational flexibility, and strategic alignment of financial resources with organizational goals. Furthermore, the study identifies key challenges in the implementation of ZBB, including resistance to change, the need for robust data management systems, and the necessity for a shift in organizational mindset. The research concludes that while ZBB presents a viable solution for enhancing cost efficiency, its successful implementation requires a thorough understanding of organizational dynamics and a commitment to continuous improvement. This study contributes to the existing body of knowledge by providing insights into the practical implications of ZBB in corporate financial planning.

Abstract

Background of the study: Islamic boarding schools' life skill educational system is applied and integrated using a planned system. Peer interaction in Islamic boarding schools has dramatically impacted how individuals choose their clothes, hobbies, communities, friendships, and other social activities. Additionally, education in Islamic boarding schools gives students independence to survive. Based on these, Aims and scope of paper was conducted to find out the positive influences of life skill education towards the independence of students of a modern Islamic boarding school through peer social interaction. Method. This study was conducted on 212 students of Class VI on the central campus of Darussalam Gontor Modern Islamic Boarding School Ponorogo. The school year is 2021-2022. The subjects were chosen randomly using a random sampling technique with the Krejcie and Morgan formula. The respondent data was obtained from the institution's records and surveys from inventory questionnaires. The validity test used product-moment correlation, while the reliability test used alpha Cronbach. Relatively, this study used the path analysis method. Results. There was a positive impact of life skills on the independence of students of modern Islamic boarding schools, and there is also a positive impact of life skills through peer social interaction towards the independence of students of modern Islamic boarding schools. The results of the F calculation proved all of these hypotheses at 2,361 (p>0,05) and R-squared of 0,430 or 43%. That means that the amount of life skill variable impact (X) and social interaction (Z) on independence (Y) was at 43%. Discussion and Conclusion. Islamic boarding schools' education system and learning process is an education life skill model in which students learn and are trained to solve and overcome various issues they face independently. Independence is built not only by their motivation but also by their environment. Independence can be developed by implementing noble values and conditioning environmental factors such as the learning environment.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

In the VUCA era (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, ambiguity), mothers must adjust their parenting without neglecting family values. This study investigated mothers’ experiences in guiding adolescents during the VUCA era and identified their adaptive strategies based on Duvall’s family development theory. This qualitative phenomenological design involved three mothers as participants taken with purposive sampling, with data collected through interviews, observations, and focus group discussions (FGDs). The researcher analyzed the data using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. The findings revealed five main themes indicating that mothers’ interpretations of their parenting roles influence their experiences, psychological stress, expectations, and the parenting strategies they adopt. Mothers’ roles in parenting adolescents have shifted from traditional approaches to more modern, adaptive, and holistic models. In adapting to these dynamics, mothers involved multiple components, including themselves, their adolescent children, their husbands, and the wider community. The findings also demonstrated the expansion of Duvall's family development theory to incorporate new dynamics, particularly those fuelled by technological advancements. Support programs that enhance adolescents' emotional regulation skills can implement this research in school counseling services. For community-based applications, a systems approach involving fathers and other family members can be used, along with digital parenting platforms such as e-parenting.id for education and counseling. Counselors can also provide training and support to address parenting-related stress among mothers and offer family counseling to improve family well-being.

Abstract

Learning Style VAK Inventory for Junior High School students in Indonesia, addressing the need for culturally relevant, technology-driven assessments. Existing learning style inventories often lack adaptation to specific educational contexts, and there is a growing demand for accessible, internet-based evaluation tools. This study seeks to fill this gap by examining the inventory’s construct validity, reliability, and effectiveness in classifying students’ learning preferences. The inventory, consisting of 15 items measuring visual, auditory, and tactile learning styles, was tested on a sample of 1,400 students using online data collection. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was conducted to assess the factor structure, yielding good model fit indices (CFI = 0.946, RMSEA = 0.024, SRMR = 0.027), supporting the inventory’s validity. However, internal consistency was moderate (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.580), highlighting the need for further refinement. Item discrimination indices ranged from 0.132 to 0.328, suggesting revisions for clarity and relevance. Descriptive findings indicated that tactile learners scored slightly higher (Mean = 21.187) than visual (Mean = 20.872) and auditory learners (Mean = 19.119), reflecting individual differences in learning preferences. While the study confirms the instrument’s structural validity, limitations include moderate reliability and potential biases due to online administration. Future research should focus on improving reliability, refining weak items, and ensuring broader population representation. The findings suggest that this inventory could assist educators in tailoring instructional strategies to students' learning preferences, supporting adaptive curriculum planning and personalized learning approaches in digital education settings.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of the Human Development Index (HDI) on domestic investment flows in Indonesia using a qualitative research approach. By employing a literature review and library research method, this paper synthesizes existing studies to understand how human development indicators—such as education, health, and income—affect investment decisions within the country. The findings suggest that regions with a higher HDI tend to attract more domestic investment due to better infrastructure, a more skilled workforce, and improved economic stability. Conversely, areas with lower HDI scores often struggle to secure substantial investment due to inadequate human capital and limited access to resources. Furthermore, this study highlights the role of government policies in bridging the development gap, emphasizing the importance of targeted investments in education and healthcare to foster sustainable economic growth. The analysis also considers the potential challenges faced by investors in different regions of Indonesia, including regulatory constraints, market uncertainties, and socio-economic disparities. By drawing insights from various academic sources, this research contributes to the broader discourse on the relationship between human development and economic activity, particularly in emerging economies. The study concludes that a strong HDI serves as a crucial determinant for enhancing domestic investment flows, thereby reinforcing the need for continuous improvements in human capital development. Future research should explore empirical data to further validate these qualitative findings and provide more policy-oriented recommendations.

Abstract

Limited studies have examined the combined impact of training, gender, and work experience on air traffic controllers' (ATC) performance. This study examines the simultaneous influence of training, gender, and work experience on ATC performance at AirNav Indonesia’s Medan Branch, aiming to identify dominant predictors and policy implications. A quantitative associative design was employed with saturated sampling of 69 ATC personnel holding Aerodrome Controller Ratings. Data were collected via validated questionnaires (Cronbach’s α > 0.7) and standardized rating tests, then analyzed using multiple regression (α = 0.05). The model explained 26% of performance variance (R² = 0.26, F(3,56) = 6.572, p = 0.001). Training (β = 0.344, p = 0.010) and work experience (β = 0.286, p = 0.031) were significant, while gender (β = -0.078, p = 0.529) was insignificant. The data analysis results indicate that the simultaneous F test result's significance value is sig 0.001 <0.05, which means they have a simultaneous effect. The findings emphasize prioritizing recurrent training programs and experience-based assignments for ATC. The remaining 74% unexplained variance, particularly the minimal explained variance in the current model, highlights the need for future research to explore additional performance factors such as cognitive abilities and team dynamics, while the findings continue to support gender-neutral scheduling policies.

Abstract

Epiphora, or excessive tearing, is a frequent yet under-recognised adverse effect of docetaxel, a taxane-based chemotherapeutic agent used in breast cancer treatment. Inflammatory and fibrotic changes within the lacrimal drainage system are hypothesised as the primary mechanisms. This study aimed to evaluate the correlation between docetaxel administration duration and epiphora severity, alongside the impact of cumulative dosage and patient age. A retrospective observational study was conducted at Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang, involving 25 breast cancer patients who reported epiphora during docetaxel chemotherapy. Patients with pre-existing ocular conditions, prior lacrimal surgery, or concurrent use of epiphora-inducing medications were excluded. Epiphora severity was assessed using the Munk score, and statistical analyses included Pearson’s correlation and multiple regression. Findings demonstrated a strong positive correlation between epiphora severity and docetaxel duration (r = 0.645, p < 0.05), cumulative dosage (r = 0.618, p < 0.05), and patient age (r = 0.703, p < 0.05). Limitations include the retrospective design, small sample size, and subjective assessment tools. These results emphasise the importance of monitoring for epiphora during docetaxel therapy, with early ophthalmologic intervention recommended. Further prospective studies are needed to clarify pathophysiological mechanisms and optimise management strategies for chemotherapy-induced epiphora.
