Abstract

This study explores the integration of explanatory text writing instruction with counseling services to enhance students' literacy skills. Using a qualitative method through a library research approach, the study systematically reviews existing literature to evaluate how these two interventions contribute to improving writing competence and academic engagement. The review synthesizes findings from various studies published between 2016 and 2025, examining the effectiveness of structured writing instruction and psychosocial support in educational contexts. The synthesized literature suggests that when combined, writing instruction and counseling services are reported to contribute to improvements in students' writing skills, motivation, and emotional resilience. Moreover, digital tools and culturally responsive teaching practices are also reported in the literature to enhance the effectiveness of these interventions in diverse educational contexts. However, challenges related to resource limitations and insufficient professional training for teachers and counselors were identified. The study concludes that a holistic educational approach, integrating both cognitive and emotional support, is important for fostering sustained literacy development. Nevertheless, the review also highlights limitations in the current evidence base, as many existing studies are short-term in scope and vary in methodological rigor. Future research should therefore prioritize longitudinal and more rigorous empirical designs, as well as the integration of digital counseling tools, to better understand the long-term impact of these combined interventions on students’ literacy outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Influence of authentic leadership and integrity on teachers’ organizational commitment, both directly and indirectly through trust as a mediating variable. This study was conducted among 135 private high school teachers in Depok City, selected using multistage random sampling. Data were collected through a questionnaire with a Likert scale and analyzed using path analysis in SPSS 25.0. The results showed that all variables had a positive and significant Influence. Specifically, authentic leadership had a direct Influence on organizational commitment (β_y1 = 0,258) and on trust (β_31 = 0,223). Integrity also had a direct iInfluenceon organizational commitment (β_y2 = 0,213) and on trust (β_32 = 0,274). Furthermore, trust has been shown to mediate the relationship between authentic leadership and integrity and teachers’ organizational commitment. These findings confirm that increasing teacher loyalty and emotional attachment can be achieved sustainably through developing honest leadership, strengthening moral values, and building a work climate based on mutual trust.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the 2025 national budget efficiency policy which impacts limited education funding in the regions, especially when committee fees cannot be collected, so schools need to optimize management efficiency and build a strong school culture to maintain teacher performance. This study aims to analyze the influence of management efficiency and school culture on the performance of public vocational high school teachers in North Bengkulu Regency. The approach used is quantitative with a survey method of 57 teachers selected using the Isaac and Michael formula. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, validity and reliability tests, linear regression, and multiple determination coefficients using SPSS 22. The results show that management efficiency and school culture have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance with a simultaneous contribution of 63.6%, where management efficiency is more dominant. The uniqueness of this study lies in the simultaneous testing of both variables in the context of the national budget efficiency policy, thus providing a contextual empirical picture. This research has implications for the importance of formulating integrated and sustainable school management policies and contributes to providing empirical evidence regarding effective strategies for maintaining teacher performance amidst limited education budgets.

Abstract

In the context of increasingly complex educational demands, strengthening teachers’ organizational commitment has become a critical issue in improving school effectiveness. While prior studies highlight organizational culture and leadership as key determinants, empirical findings remain inconsistent, indicating the need for further investigation in specific educational contexts. Drawing on organizational and servant leadership theories, this study examines the influence of work culture and servant leadership on teachers’ organizational commitment. This study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design involving 180 teachers selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The findings indicate that servant leadership plays a more significant role in influencing teachers’ organizational commitment, while work culture does not show a meaningful effect. Overall, the results suggest that teachers’ organizational commitment is shaped by complex and context-dependent factors. This study highlights the importance of integrating psychological and professional aspects in efforts to enhance teacher commitment.

Abstract

Low forward roll proficiency among students is often caused by limited instructional approaches that rely on verbal explanations and demonstrations, making it difficult to understand movement sequences. This study aimed to examine the effect of the Augmented Reality-based SenAR learning model on students’ forward roll skills. A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design was used, involving 68 university students aged 18–20 years. Participants were divided into experimental and control groups. Forward roll performance was assessed using a structured performance rubric. The experimental group received SenAR-based training, while the control group used conventional methods. Data were analyzed using independent t-test after normality and homogeneity assumptions were met. Results showed a significant difference between groups (p < 0.001), with the experimental group achieving higher post-test scores (M = 38.24) than the control group (M = 35.03). These findings suggest that SenAR improves students’ movement understanding and execution. However, the short intervention duration and limited sample should be considered in interpreting the results.

Abstract

Research on non-normative family forms has largely focused on same-sex relationships or transgender individuals’ personal identities, while little attention has been given to marriages between transgender women and women in socially conservative settings. This study examines women’s motives for marrying transgender women, the strategies couples use to sustain their households, and community responses to these unions in Kaur Regency, Indonesia. The research employs an interpretive phenomenological approach to explore how women interpret and rationalize their marital decisions within a context characterized by strong marital expectations, limited relational options, and persistent social stigma. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and document analysis involving seven transgender women–women couples and several supporting informants. The findings reveal that women’s marital decisions were shaped by reflective evaluations of relational safety, emotional stability, and prior experiences in heterosexual relationships. Household sustainability was maintained through adaptive practices such as open communication, negotiated economic responsibilities, and flexible gender roles. Community reactions were characterized by ambivalence, combining normative stigma with pragmatic tolerance when couples were perceived as maintaining social harmony. These findings extend rational choice perspectives by demonstrating how emotional security and relational stability function as central criteria in marital decision-making under socially constrained conditions.

Abstract

Abstract

Organizational commitment in educational institutions remains a critical issue, particularly in understanding how organizational and individual psychological factors shape teachers’ attachment to their organizations. Empirical findings on the roles of organizational culture, agile leadership, and self-efficacy, however, remain inconsistent, especially in vocational education. This study examifnes the relationships among these variables, including the mediating role of work motivation. A quantitative explanatory approach using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was applied to data collected from 195 teachers of private vocational high schools in West Jakarta. The results show that organizational culture and work motivation have significant positive relationships with organizational commitment. Organizational culture also has a significant indirect effect through work motivation. Self-efficacy has no significant direct relationship with organizational commitment but shows a significant indirect effect via work motivation. In contrast, agile leadership does not demonstrate significant direct or indirect relationships. These findings indicate that organizational commitment is more closely associated with cultural and psychological factors than with leadership style. This study highlights the role of work motivation as a key mediating mechanism linking organizational and individual factors in the educational context.

Abstract

The development of social skills is a crucial demand in 21st-century higher education, particularly for pre-service teacher students. This study aims to examine the role of sociology learning in the development of social skills among students of the Social Studies Education Program at STKIP Al Maksum involving 15 students in the qualitative phase (in-depth interviews) and 60 students in the quantitative phase (instrument trial)." . The study employed an exploratory sequential mixed methods design, with a qualitative approach as the primary phase and a quantitative approach as a supportive phase. Qualitative data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis, while quantitative data were obtained through a questionnaire developed based on the qualitative findings and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings indicate that sociology learning contributes significantly to the enhancement of students' social skills, particularly in interpersonal communication, social awareness, cooperation, and social responsibility. Social change: Previously passive students became more confident in expressing their opinions in group discussions. Conflict Reduction: A decrease in the frequency of interruptions between students when working on assignments together. Empathy: The emergence of an attitude of mutual assistance (peer tutoring) observed through in-depth observation. The results of the study showed a significant increase in social skills, as seen from the N-Gain score of 0.75 (High Category). Qualitatively, this was confirmed by an increase in the intensity of collaboration and students' conflict resolution abilities during the learning process in the classroom.

Abstract

The implementation of the Kampus Berdampak policy introduces substantial organizational changes that require the active involvement of educational support personnel (ESP), whose readiness for change remains relatively underexplored despite their strategic role in higher education transformation. This study examines the influence of perceived organizational support, psychological empowerment, and affective commitment on readiness for change among ESP in private higher education institutions (PHEIs) in South Kalimantan. Using a quantitative explanatory design, data were collected from 207 educational support personnel across several private universities through validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaires. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that perceived organizational support, psychological empowerment, and affective commitment jointly have a significant effect on readiness for change (R² = 0.542), with psychological empowerment emerging as the strongest predictor. These findings suggest that readiness for change is shaped not merely by formal policy mandates but also by employees’ perceptions of autonomy, competence, and organizational support in their daily work environment. This study contributes to the readiness for change literature by situating the analysis within a policy-driven higher education reform context and offers practical implications for strengthening empowerment-oriented human resource practices to support the effective implementation of the Kampus Berdampak policy.
