Factum: Jurnal Sejarah dan Pendidikan Sejarah promotes research in the broad field of history and Education with particular respect to Indonesia, but not limited to authorship or topical coverage within the region. Contributions are expected from historian, educator, teacher, senior researchers, project managers, research administrators and PhD students at advanced stages of their research, representing both public organizations and private industry. Equally, the journal if intended for scholars and students, reseachers working at research organizations and government agencies, and also for enterprises undertaking applied R&D to lead innovations. The editorial contents and elements that comprise the journal include: Theoretical articles Empirical studies Practice-oriented papers Case studies Review of papers, books, and resources. As far as the criteria for evaluating and accepting submissions is concerned, a rigorous review process will be used. Submitted papers will, prior to the formal review, be screened so as to ensure their suitability and adequacy to the journal. In addition, an initial quality control will be performed, so as to ensure matters such as language, style of references and others, comply with the journal´s style. The below mentioned areas are just indicative. The editorial board also welcomes innovative articles that redefine any history and history education field. Abstract

Learning with Google Classroom was chosen by many teachers as a means of distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. After Covid-19 was deemed safe, face-to-face learning in the classroom was allowed with the provision that 50% of students could attend school in turn, the rest did online learning. Google classroom is a blended learning platform in education that allows educators to create, share and classify paperless assignments. Google classroom is one of the e-learning applications in history learning. Learning tools that are optimally utilized create effective, efficient learning so that learning objectives can be achieved. History learning is a teaching and learningactivity to obtain a shared picture of important events and the state of past societies. The objectives of this study are (1) To find out the reasons why teachers choose google classroom as a learning tool in learning history; (2) To describe the implementation of history learning with google classroom as a learning tool in class XI Pasundan 2 Bandung High School 2020/2021 Academic Year; (3) To describe the obstacles and efforts of teachers and students in learning history using google classroom. This makes the researcher interested in examining further about google classroom. This research uses a qualitative descriptive study method to get an in-depth description and explanation of the implementation of history learning with google classroom as a learning tool at Pasundan 2 Bandung High School. The results of this study show that (1) The selection of google classroom as a learning tool in learning history was chosen because of its ease and effectiveness in use; (2) History learning with google classroom at Pasundan 2 Bandung High School has not been implemented optimally; (3) Students and teachers are not ready for history learning using google classroom so they experience many technical obstacles.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how successful the application of educational media is to students, especially in learning history so that it becomes a medium in the form of games that educate and is conveyed in the form of historical material. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The research results were obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation studies of the application of Educandy media during the learning process. As for the subject of this research, the students of class XI MIPA 1, XI MIPA 5, and XI MIPA 7, with each class totaling two people as representatives of the interview session, along with a history teacher with the initials LL. The results of this research include the success of the application of Educandy media, the packaging of historical materials, and the implementation of Educandy media. As for the attraction of this Educandy media, including a form of educational game-based media in history learning, the many features of the Educandy media, and of course, it has many types of word games that can be played. Then, the application of Educandy media was appointed to answer this research’s questions regarding its effectiveness.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Think Talk Write Sebagai Upaya Untuk Mengembangkan Keterampilan Komunikasi Peserta Didik Pada Pembelajaran Sejarah Secara Daring (Studi Deskriptif Kualitatif di Kelas XI MIPA 1 SMAN 14 Bandung). Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya kondisi penurunan keterampilan komunikasi peserta didik dalam pembelajaran sejarah yang dilakukan secara daring di masa pandemi. Kondisi tersebut kemudian direspon oleh guru dengan menerapkan suatu model pembelajaran kooperatif  tipe think talk write yang kemudian dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran sejarah secara daring dengan memanfaatkan fitur breakout room dalam platform zoom meeting. Penerapan model tersebut kemudian menarik perhatian peneliti untuk melihat dan mendeskripsikan lebih dalam mengenai bagaimana penerapan think talk write dilakukan oleh guru sebagai upaya mengembangkan keterampilan komunikasi peserta didik pada pembelajaran sejarah yang dilakukan secara daring di kelas XI MIPA 1. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan mengenai bagaimana proses perencanaan, pelaksanaan, hingga temuan hambatan dan solusi yang diupayakan dalam penerapan model pembelajaran tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan studi deskriptif kualitatif di kelas XI MIPA 1 SMAN 14 Bandung. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kegiatan observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat terlihat bahwa keterampilan komunikasi dengan indikator yang dikembangkan yakni interaksi dalam kelompok, penyampaian tertulis, penyampaian gagasan, dan pemberian respon dapat dikembangkan dengan cukup baik meskipun belum sepenuhnya maksimal. Hasil penelitian mengenai penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe think talk write ini dapat menjadi salah satu solusi yang bisa diterapkan dalam upaya mengembangkan keterampilan komunikasi peserta didik dalam pembelajaran sejarah secara daring, dengan catatan guru harus memaksimalkan perangkat pembelajaran yang digunakan, serta memperhatikan beberapa kompenen penting dalam pembelajaran secara daring sepertihalnya sarana dan prasarana yang dapat menunjang selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung, hal ini agar penerapan model tersebut dapat terlaksana dengan baik. This research is entitled “Think Talk Write as an Effort to Improve Student Communication in Online History Learning. This research is motivated by the existence of a condition concerning the decreased students' communication skills in history learning which is carried out online during the pandemic. This condition was then responded by the teacher by implementing a learning model which was then developed by utilizing the breakout room feature in the zoom meeting platform. The application of the model then attracted the researchers' attention to see and describe more deeply about how the application of the think talk write was carried out by the teacher in an effort to develop students' communication skills in online history learning. This research is a study of qualitative descriptive in class XI MIPA 1 SMAN 14 Bandung. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. From the results of the research that has been done, it can be seen that communication skills with indicators developed, namely interaction in groups, written submissions, conveying ideas, and providing responses can be developed quite well although not fully maximized. The results of research regarding the applies of a think talk write type of cooperative learning model can be one solution that can be applied in an effort to develop students' communication skills in online history learning, with a note that teachers must maximize learning tools, and pay attention to several important components in online learning such as means of and infrastructure that can support during the learning process, so that the application of the model can be carried out properly.

Abstract

The main problems examined in this article are the simultaneous upheavals of the revolution in the North African States of 2010-2011. The method used is historical, using four steps of historical research: heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Based upon the research, it was found that the people of the North African region have never felt the freedom or democratic system that they have desired for so long. The dictatorship leadership caused the state to experience social, political, and economic gaps. The revolution’s driving forces are the people’s power, economic problems, and social media. The efforts carried out by the people include conducting demonstrations, which are assisted by the development of social media and the military. The government responded with anti-criticism and blocked social media and internet access. The impact of the revolution is the democratic system that every North African and Middle Eastern country wants to implement, which is affected by the domino effect of the Arab Spring revolution and the economic impact that has shaken not only the country but the surrounding countries and the international world. The Arab Spring Revolution, led by the popular movement, overthrew dictatorial leaders, including Ben Ali, Hosni Mubarak, and Muammar Khaddafi.

Abstract

Artikel ini berjudul “Perkembangan Kesenian Dolalak Tahun 1970-2021: Antara Harapan dan Tantangan Zaman”. Latar belakang penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk mengkaji secara lebih lanjut bagaimana kesenian Dolalak sebagai kesenian tradisional dapat mempertahankan eksistensinya yang sejalan dengan kehidupan masyarakat di zaman IT. Secara lebih lanjut, tujuan dari diadakannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kondisi kesenian Dolalak di tahun 1970-2021, serta mendeskripsikan peran seniman dan pemerintah dalam melestarian kesenian Dolalak khususnya di lingkup Kecamatan Kaligesing, Kabupaten Purworejo. Dalam melakukan penelitian, penulis menggunakan metode historis yang terdiri dari tahapan heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, penulis berhasil memperoleh beberapa temuan. Pertama, kesenian Dolalak telah mengalami banyak perubahan yang merupakan hasil inovasi dari para seniman sebagai bentuk upaya penyesuaian pada tantangan zaman. Kedua, upaya yang dilakukan tidak terbatas pada pembaruan konsep pertunjukan saja, namun juga mencakup upaya pelestarian dengan menjadikan kesenian Dolalak sebagai brand city Kabupaten Purworejo sekaligus bagian dari paket desa wisata. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi penelitian-penelitian berikutnya dengan tema yang sama untuk mengetahui secara lebih lanjut terkait fakta baru yang belum terungkap.

Abstract

This research aims to conduct an in-depth study of the role of Clara Zetkin and the women’s movement in Germany. The main problem raised in this study is “How was Clara Zetkin’s struggle in the socialist women’s movement in Germany?” The research used the historical method through four stages: heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. For a more profound analysis, this research uses three theories: socialism, feminism, and social movement. Zetkin also combined feminist and socialist ideas in her movement. She brought the feminist-socialist idea as a weapon against capitalism that oppressed women, and she was not only focused on the gender issues but also on the social class problems. In her struggle, Zetkin used Die Gleichheit as a platform to educate female workers so that they could participate in the class struggle that led to the liberation of women.

Abstract

The research was conducted based on the background of the low chronological thinking ability of students in class XI Social 4 of SMA N 2 Lembang. Given these problems, the researcher aims to improve students' chronological thinking skills in learning history by using learning media, namely digital history timeline media. The ability to think chronologically is one of the stages of mastering the ability to think historically. Where the ability to think chronologically becomes so important because it is the initial stage in the ability to think historically. That way, the ability to think chronologically becomes so important to be understood and mastered by students in learning history. planning (Plan); implementation (Act); observation (Observing); and reflection (reflection). This research was conducted in IX cycles. Where in each cycle the results obtained have increased. In cycle I the percentage obtained was 45.8%, then in cycle II it increased to 60.4%, cycle III decreased to 58.3%, cycle IV increased again to 68.8%, cycle V 78.2 %, in cycle VI it was 89.6%, in cycle VII it again decreased to 85.4%, and increased again in the last two cycles, namely 93.7% for cycle VIII and 95.8% for cycle IX. Judging from the research results obtained, the ability to think chronologically can be said to increase through the use of digital timeline history media as learning media.

Abstract

This paper examines the results of the field trip learning method for 7th grade students of Al Azhar 33 Palembang Islamic Junior High School in the Social Science subject of Kesultanan Palembang Darussalam Local History. The formulation of the problems in this study are: (1) How to increase local history knowledge to students?, (2) What are the factors that cause field trip learning methods to increase local history knowledge in students?, (3) How can field trip learning methods be used to increase local history knowledge in students? This type of research is descriptive research using a qualitative approach, the data collection technique uses several methods, namely: observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this research show that: (1) increasing students' local history knowledge by applying learning methods that can attract students' interest in learning so that history learning becomes more alive and teachers do not only provide cognitive knowledge in the classroom, (2) the factors that cause the field trip learning method can be used to increase students' knowledge is a learning method that can be used by teachers to facilitate students to learn directly at the location or scene not only the theory in the book, so that students get a concrete, effective and interesting learning experience, (3) The field trip learning method invites students to see the reality that exists regarding the Kesultanan Palembang Darussalam e at the Istana Adat Kesultanan Palembang Darussalam. The results showed an increase in the knowledge of students with local history material of the Kesultanan Palembang Darussalam as seen through informal and unstructured interviews with of 7th grade students of Al Azhar 33 Palembang Islamic Junior High School.

Abstract

This research is based on findings from class XI IPS in SMA Pasundan 2 Bandung, which shows a low level of student skills in processing information. To resolve the issue, researchers are implementing the use of gadgets to enhance student skills in processing information. The goal of this research is to enhance student skills in processing information during history lessons. This research uses Action Research methodology. The results of the research from the first cycle, second cycle, and third cycle show a significant increase. In the first cycle, the students' ability to process information was still low. This was due to the students' lack of optimizing their use of gadgets in searching for information, using unreliable sources, and not being able to interpret information in their own language. In the second cycle, a significant improvement occurred in all three indicators. In the third cycle, the students fully utilized their gadgets to search for information and did not rely on a single source of information. They used credible sources of information, interpreted the information in their own language, and presented the information in a concise, dense, and easily understandable manner using infospace media. With the results of this research, it is hoped that relevant parties can develop and improve the learning process of history through the use of gadgets.

Abstract

This study discusses the strategy and pattern of battle carried out by Richard Lionheart, the leader of the Western nations, and Shalahuddin Al-Ayyubi, the leader of the Arabs. This research uses a historical method consisting of four steps: heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. This research also uses a multidisciplinary approach by taking the concepts of war, leadership, and the holy city to discuss the research themes raised. Based on the study’s results, Richard Lionheart and Shalahuddin Al-Ayyubi had different journeys in their background, occupying positions that made them leaders of two different nations, where Richard Lionheart became King of British. In contrast, Shalahuddin Al-Ayyubi became the nation’s king. Richard Lionheart and Shalahuddin Al-Ayyubi also have strategies and patterns of fighting that are different from one another, with their advantages and disadvantages giving each of them an advantage over their opponents. Besides that, the two nation’s leaders fighting over the Holy City of Jerusalem has the same importance to the Holy City of Jerusalem; for both the leaders of this nation, both Western and Arab nations, Jerusalem is a city that not only has a religious relationship for these two nations, which in addition to having the religious ties, the two nations also had the same historical ties in the past to this Holy City of Jerusalem. These two nations feel they have the same rights in the Holy City of Jerusalem.
