Factum: Jurnal Sejarah dan Pendidikan Sejarah promotes research in the broad field of history and Education with particular respect to Indonesia, but not limited to authorship or topical coverage within the region. Contributions are expected from historian, educator, teacher, senior researchers, project managers, research administrators and PhD students at advanced stages of their research, representing both public organizations and private industry. Equally, the journal if intended for scholars and students, reseachers working at research organizations and government agencies, and also for enterprises undertaking applied R&D to lead innovations. The editorial contents and elements that comprise the journal include: Theoretical articles Empirical studies Practice-oriented papers Case studies Review of papers, books, and resources. As far as the criteria for evaluating and accepting submissions is concerned, a rigorous review process will be used. Submitted papers will, prior to the formal review, be screened so as to ensure their suitability and adequacy to the journal. In addition, an initial quality control will be performed, so as to ensure matters such as language, style of references and others, comply with the journal´s style. The below mentioned areas are just indicative. The editorial board also welcomes innovative articles that redefine any history and history education field. Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Pemikiran Fuad Hassan dalam Kebijakan Pendidikan Indonesia (1985-1993)”. Latar belakang peneliti mengambil permasalahan ini disebabkan karena mengingat di era sekarang di mana berkembang pesatnya kemjuan teknologi dan ilmu pengetahuan, gagasan-gagasan Fuad Hassan masih sangat relevan. Selain itu topik inipun penting karena menyangkut soal pendidikan, di mana melalui topik ini kita bisa belajar mengenai sejarah pendidikan di Indonesia. Masalah utama yang diangkat dari skripsi ini adalah “Bagaimana Pemikiran Fuad Hassan dalam Kebijakan Pendidikan Indonesia (1985-1993)”. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian historis dengan melakukan empat langkah penelitian yaitu, heuristik, kritik, interpretasi dan historiografi. Adapun teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data yaitu studi literatur dengan mengkaji sumber-sumber literatur yang relevan dengan permasalahan yang dikaji. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat dijelaskan di antaranya adalah pertama, latar belakang perjalanan karir dan pemikiran Fuad Hassan sangat berpengaruh terhadap kebijakan-kebijakan yang diambilnya ketika menjabat sebagai Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Indonesia tahun 1985-1993. Kedua,  Fuad Hassan pada awal menjabat sebagai menteri tidak membuat perubahan-perubahan besar sebagai gantinya lebih fokus pada penuntasan Undang-Undang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional. Ketiga, kebijakan-kebijakan yang dikeluarkan oleh Fuad Hassan di antaranya diterbitkannya Undang-Undang nomor 2 tahun 1989 tentang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional, perbaikan kurikulum 1984 sampai dengan dikembangkannya kurikulum 1994, desentralisasi pelaksanaan EBTANAS, desentralisasi pelaksanaan ujian masuk perguruan tinggi, peraturan mengenai kehadiran senat mahasiswa perguruan tinggi, serta perubahan penamaan gelar kesarjanaan. Keempat, kebijakan Fuad Hassan berdampak positif karena terjadinya stabilitas dalam dunia pendidikan lebih diperhatikan. Akan tetapi kebijakan yang dikeluarkan Fuad Hassan juga mendapat perhatian dari pakar pendidikan mengenai konsekuensi diteruskannya kurikulum 1984 yang dianggap sarat kepentingan penguasa.

Abstract

This research is entitled “Kuda Kosong Art of Cianjur (1998-2011) (Study of Traditional Art in The Global Flow)”. The reason behind this research is the fact that the art of Kuda Kosong in Cianjur District was once banned, then reappeared and the lack of writings or studies on local history, especially about Kuda Kosong in Cianjur District. So this research focuses on the development of Kuda Kosong art in 1998-2011 in Cianjur District. This study aims to obtain information about the ebb and flow of Kuda Kosong art in Cianjur District. This study aims to obtain information about the ebb and flow of the Kuda Kosong art in Cianjur District. The method used in this research is historical method consisting of several steps that includes the collection of the source material, verification or criticism regarding the source of research, and historiography or written history. The results of the Kuda Kosong art research in Cianjur District include information that this art has existed since the 18th century in Cianjur District. The development of Kuda Kosong art experiences ups and downs and there is a change in function, namely kuda kosong art can be addressed publicly which at first can only be witnessed by guests of the pavilion. The procession of ngalinggihkeun and ngalungsurkeun in Kuda Kosong art was eliminated because it was considered not in accordance with Islamic law. As a result, it hampered the development of the Kuda Kosong art in 1998. Efforts to preserve the kuda kosong art, the government collaborated with various parties involved, namely artists, cultural observers, and MUI so that the Kuda Kosong art could be performed again with the condition that some deviant processions were eliminated.

Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka is one of the government's efforts to realize Independent Learning policy (Merdeka Belajar), especially at the Primary and Middle School levels. This research aims to analyze the philosophical basis of the Kurikulum Merdeka as well as a comparison of History subjects in the 2013 Curriculum and the Merdeka Curriculum. The research method uses literature review with analytical techniques from Miles and Huberman, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The philosophical foundation of the Merdeka Curriculum comes from Ki Hadjar Dewantara's educational ideas and constructivism theory. Based on the comparison results, the similarities regarding the History subject in the Kurikulum Merdeka and the Kurikulum 2013 lie in the paradigm, namely using student-centered learning. In the Kurikulum Merdeka there are new terms in learning design, namely differentiated learning and teaching at the right level, but in essence these two terms are part of the student-centered learning paradigm. The differences between the Merdeka Curriculum and the 2013 Curriculum are in several aspects, namely planning, time allocation, subject objectives, internalized character values, learning design, scope of material, learning outcomes, assessment, and aspects of grade promotion.

Abstract

The Dutch have studied indigenous society and culture since the 19th century. The Dutch researched the Javanese language, Malay, and ancient manuscripts through its scholars. The lack of indigenous participation in studying and researching their knowledge system and culture allowed the Dutch to instill power in the field of culture. In the early 20th century, the study of society and culture began to involve the natives, marked by the establishment of the Java Institute. Java Instituut’s openness to cultural advancement efforts can be seen in cooperation between local and colonial intellectuals. This research aims to analyze the role of Java Instituut in advancing Sundanese culture from 1921 to 1941. The research method used is the historical method, which consists of the stages of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Through this research, it can be seen the strategic steps of Java Instituut in advancing Sundanese culture, namely: 1) Promoting Sundanese tunil (opera); 2) Publishing Sundanese magazines; 3) Organizing Sundanese language congresses; and 4) Establishing arts and crafts schools.

Abstract

Research on the Teacher Learner platform in independent learning is based on the findings of researchers at research locations which shows the use of learning platforms in learning history, this learning platform is used by students to learn independently. The learning teacher platform created and used by one of the history subject teachers at SMA IT Pesantren Nururrahman, the teacher created and operated this platform with the aim of being a learning tool for students in the school environment and in the home envirinment. This study will describe how students learning independence using the learning teacher platform. The learning teacher platform is one of the media that can be used by students to learn independently with learning material that have been provided by, so that the learning teacher platform can support the growth of students learning indeoendence.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the author’s interest in the dual role of female pickers in the Gambung tea plantation located in Mekarsari village, Pasir Jambu district, Bandung regency. The method used is the historical method with four stages, including 1) heuristics, 2) source criticism, 3) interpretation and final steps, and 4) historiography. The subjects or informants in this study were six women picking laborers who had worked in the Gambung tea plantation before 2010. The results showed that most picking laborers in the Gambung tea plantation were women. Participating in picking indirectly gives them a dual role as a reproductive role and a productive role, so it gives them a double burden, both domestic and public. Moreover, the reproductive role of women in social circles and tea-picking workers is often considered a static and permanent role. Even though women work to fulfill household needs, this is not accompanied by a reduction in their burden in the domestic area or a reduction in household work such as washing, cooking, and other household activities. In addition, with their choice to become workers at the Gambung tea plantation, these women picking laborers do not have the freedom of time to carry out all their reproductive roles as a result of their productive roles, which are required to comply with workplace regulations such as hours to go to work, hours to come home, to work and when to holiday.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Optimalisasi Penggunaan Google Classroom Dalam Pembelajaran Sejarah di Masa Pandemi Covid-19 (Studi Deskriptif Kualitatif Pada Siswa Kelas XI IPS 1-4 di SMAN 13 Bandung)”. Latar belakang peneliti mengambil tema penelitian tersebut didasari dengan keadaan pada awal tahun 2020 adanya virus Covid-19 yang menyebabkan semua aktivitas di luar harus dihentikan. Begitu juga dengan sekolah ditutup agar virus tidak menyebar. Maka proses belajar menjadi Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh (PJJ). Kegiatan PJJ di SMAN 13 Bandung merupakan salah satu sekolah yang menggunakan Google Classroom sebagai platform PJJ. Penggunaan Google Classroom dalam pembelajaran sejarah di SMAN 13 Bandung belum mendapatkan perhatian di kalangan akademisi. Masalah utama dalam skripsi ini adalah “Bagaimana optimalisasi penggunaan Google Classroom dalam pembelajaran sejarah di SMAN 13 Bandung kelas XI IPS 1-4?.” Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut penulis membaginya dalam empat rumusan masalah. Bagaimana upaya guru dalam merencanakan pembelajaran sejarah melalui Google Classroom? Bagaimana guru dan siswa melaksanakan pembelajaran sejarah melalui Google Classroom? Bagaimana cara guru melakukn evaluasi dalam pembelajaran sejarah menggunakan Google Classroom? Bagaimana guru dan siswa mengatasi hambatan yang terjadi ketika melakukan pembelajaran sejarah melalui Google Classroom?. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Google Classroom sangat membantu sekali dalam kegiatan pembelajaran secara daring. Fitur yang ada di Google Classroom membantu guru dalam persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Guru sejarah dan siswa SMAN 13 Bandung dapat memanfaatkan Google Classroom dengan baik sehingga pembelajaran secara daring sudah cukup optimal walaupun masih terdapat hambatan yang terjadi ketika melaksanakan pembelajaran. Hal itu, dapat diatasi oleh guru dan siswa.

Abstract

The research aims to describe applying the Lucky Day learning method, If You Lucky, in learning history. The research uses the Class Action Research method with the Kemmis and Taggart model research design, which consists of planning, implementation, action, observation, and reflection levels. The research results show increased student activity in each cycle after applying the Lucky Day method! If You Lucky in Learning History. The improvement occurred in several indicators, namely exchanging answers between large groups, checking the correctness of answers, and exchanging points. Application of the Lucky Day method! If You Lucky can be an alternative to increase student activity in learning history. Schools can optimize the library as a means of learning for students so that they have many reference sources.

Abstract

This research aims to produce web-based history learning e-learning (e-PS) innovation products packaged in the form of Xtended Massive Open Online Courses (xMOOC) to build the skills of 21st century history teachers. This research activity was carried out using the research and development method by Davidson- Shiver and Rasmunssen with stages 1) Analysis, 2) Evaluation Plan, 3) Simultaneous Design which includes design, system development, testing and Implementation and Summative evaluation. This phase can be done many times up to an indefinite time limit; 4) Full Implementation; 5) Summative Evaluation and Research. The data collection technique is in the form of a questionnaire. The type of data used is qualitative and quantitative data. The instrument used in this research was a questionnaire. The questionnaire created was measured using a Likert scale. The data analysis technique uses qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis. Based on the total percentage score from media expert validation of 85.27%, and the validation results for material experts of 91.80%, the entire web-based history learning e-learning media is said to be valid without revision.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia has caused the implementation of learning to be carried out online or remotely by utilizing technology as a communication liaison between teachers and students. Therefore, during this pandemic, an online learning platform is essential. Each school has its policy on choosing a learning platform for the optimal implementation of online learning. One is SMA YWKA Bandung, which uses the Kelas Pintar learning platform. The purpose of this study is to describe the learning activities of class XI MIPA 2 SMA YWKA Bandung using the Kelas Pintar platform, especially in history learning, so that this research can provide information to all related parties, especially regarding learning activities using the Kelas Pintar platform. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to assist researchers in obtaining information and describing what is being studied in depth. Researchers managed to find several things, such as (1) Implementation of learning using the Kelas Pintar platform, which shows student learning activities in online implementation, (2) Finding learning obstacles using the Kelas Pintar platform and efforts being made to minimize learning obstacles that occur felt by teachers and students.
