The Java War, often known as De Javasche Oorlog or Diponegoro War, was an event that had an impact on national and local history. The capture of Prince Diponegoro by the Dutch on March 28, 1830, resulted in many of his troops fleeing to remote areas to avoid Dutch capture. As a result of the escape they settled in an area, disguised as ordinary people. One of the places where Diponegoro's troops escaped was in Kemloko village, Nglegok sub-district, Blitar district. The mind of the soldiers who managed to escape had a work of art in the form of Reog Bulkiyo Dance. The purpose of this study was to determine the history of the formation of Reog Bulkiyo Dance, the characteristics of Reog Bulkiyo dance, the existence of Reog Bulkiyo dance. This research uses a historical method consisting of (1). Heuristics, (2). Criticism, (3). Interpretation, (4). Historiography. Abstract

The present issue in history education is the insufficient utilization of instructional media that could effectively serve as tools for teachers to convey materials to students. Consequently, history lessons in the classroom tend to lack engagement and become monotonous. A viable solution is to implement instructional media that align with the potential and learning characteristics of students at MA Aswaja Ngunut. The required form of instructional media is historical videos based on Sparkol Videoscribe, with a focus on prehistoric site content in Tulungagung. This research and development initiative aims to ascertain the effectiveness of historical video instructional media based on Sparkol Videoscribe in enhancing students' interest and learning outcomes. This research model adapts the ADDIE development model developed by Robert Maribe Branch. The objective of this research is to create a learning media containing prehistoric site content from Tulungagung and to assess the effectiveness of this media on student interest and learning outcomes. Based on the research outcomes, it can be concluded that historical video instructional media based on Sparkol Videoscribe yields valid, effective, practical, and engaging results, leading to increased student interest and learning outcomes. Students' strong preference for audiovisual media is the primary reason for their heightened interest in this product. Therefore, it can be deduced that the product is effective in boosting student interest and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Civic education serves as a crucial foundation for students' character building, particularly in fostering their understanding of democratic principles. With the advancement of technology, digital literacy has become an essential element that significantly enhances student engagement in democracy. This study aimed to investigate the impact of digital literacy implementation in civic education across three schools in Bandung: SMA Negeri 11, SMA Negeri 22, and SMK Negeri 14. The research involved three civic education teachers, three IT staff, and nine students from these schools as participants. The methodology adopted was qualitative, utilizing data collection techniques such as observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed that integrating digital literacy in civic education at SMA Negeri 11, SMA Negeri 22, and SMK Negeri 14 positively influenced students' participation in democratic activities. However, the results indicated that significant improvements were not achieved across all indicators, particularly in creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. The study suggests that while digital literacy has the potential to enhance civic education, further efforts are required to optimize its benefits comprehensively. Overall, the research highlights the need for innovative approaches to effectively integrate digital literacy in civic education to foster a more engaged and democratically active student body.

Abstract

The Bagurau Saluang Dendang performance referred to in this research is the Bagurau Saluang Dendang performance at the Lapiak Gurau event, literally meaning 'joking on a mat', which usually occurs in many coffee shops in Tanah Datar Regency. This show is an entertainment show. This thesis aims to analyse the changes that occur in the Lapiak Gurau Saluang Dendang (TLGSD) tradition performance today. This performance is usually performed at night, from 20.00 WIB until dawn. The accompanying instrument for singing in this performance is usually only the saluang musical instrument. Meanwhile, the singers are only men. This is because traditional rules prohibit the participation of women in bagurau art. In the early 2000s, changes began to occur. In fact, nowadays, TLGSD performances are held from 22.00 WIB until just before dawn. The cast in TLGSD currently numbers ten people, with details: one saluang player, one keyboard player, one Janang, four singing children, and three singing parents. Changes in the mindset of the Minangkabau people in the last three or four decades have had an impact on the orientation of TLGSD performances. The changes in question predominantly occurred in aspects of the procedures for performing lapiak gurau, including traditional norms for female singers, the choice of ensemble format used as accompaniment to the song, and the text of the pantun. The method used in this research is a qualitative-descriptive method using an ethnographic perspective. The results of this research show that the tradition of lapiak gurau saluang dendang has undergone changes: (i) the choice of instruments to accompany the dang that is popular with audiences is now more modern; (ii) the majority of singers currently in demand as singers are women; (iii) weakening the role of the ninik mamak as traditional elders who are supposed to protect the dignity of Minangkabau women. However, TLGSD is now contributing to increasing the financial income of stall owners.

Abstract

Sociology subjects are expected to instill the ability to analyze phenomena and solve social problems in students later, but in reality it is considered an unimportant subject and less desirable by students. This is due to the use of learning methods and models that are not varied by teachers in teaching so that student learning interest becomes minimal and ultimately has an impact on students' lack of understanding of sociological material. Problem Based Learning (PBL) is one of the recommended learning models in the independent curriculum, because PBL provides opportunities for students to apply their concepts to real situations. So it requires students to think critically in solving every problem. This study aims to see how the implementation of sociology learning with the PBL model in the independent curriculum at SMA Negeri 1 Cisarua. Data analysis is carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Then to test the validity of the data, researchers use triangulation of data collection techniques and triangulation of data sources. From the results of the study, it was found that the implementation of sociology learning with the PBL model in the independent curriculum at SMA Negeri 1 Cisarua was the same as when the previous curriculum still followed the syntax of the PBL model that had been conceptually determined, the difference was only in the existence of learning patterns in the independent curriculum such as differentiated learning, essential materials and the existence of the P5 program.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the integration of technology in the preparation of prospective teachers for educational management through the curriculum in Ghana. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the study analyzes how technology is embedded in learning and how prospective teachers respond to it in the context of education management. The main focus of this research is on the concept and use of technology in the educational process to enhance the understanding and skills of prospective teachers.  However, the study found that the curriculum policies, structure, and guidelines for pre-service teachers lack a clear vision for effectively integrating technology. Interviews with policymakers indicated their recognition of the importance of technology integration but also revealed the lack of investment hindered its progress. Drawing on the study's findings and existing research, context-specific recommendations are proposed, focusing on promoting innovative technology-based pedagogical models and developing effective leadership. The study involved participants from a teacher preparation program in Ghana, with data collection conducted through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and curriculum document analysis. Data were analyzed using an inductive approach to identify common patterns in technology integration and prospective teachers' responses to it. The results of this study are expected to provide insights into the extent to which technology is integrated in the teacher preparation curriculum in Ghana, as well as its impact on teacher candidates' readiness to manage education. The practical implications of this study can provide recommendations for improving the teacher education curriculum, adapting teaching strategies to technological developments, and increasing the effectiveness of teacher preparation in the digital era. The findings can provide valuable guidance for policy makers, educational institutions and educators to ensure that prospective teachers have the relevant and necessary skills to face future educational demands.
